Steamed Abalone - Bào Ngư Hấp

Ingredients: Abalone is available at Costco
1 package frozen/fresh small Abalones, about 12 pieces (2.2lbs) Ausab brand (rinsed and scrubbed)
3 stalks scallion, chopped
(green part)
4 garlic cloves, minced
3 tbsp vegetarian mushroom oyster sauce (Wan Ja Shan)
1 tbsp sugar
2 tbsp vegetable oil
2 tbsp cooking wine (Michiu)
1 tbsp warm water
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 tbsp sesame oil
1 tsp chili flakes
2 inches piece fresh ginger, peel, julienned
garnish: shredded scallion (white part)

Michelle Luong idk about the fresh ones but for this frozen package it cost like $45 at Costco.

I just paid $6 for a fresh/live one at HMart. They usually run around that price, up to and as high as $9 for live ones at your local Asian supermarket.
