New Orleans inspired and Spicy Oysters Mukbang: • New Orleans inspired a... .
New Orleans Inspired Serving: 2 people (12 oysters)
    Ingredients:
    1 stick of salted butter
4 garlic cloves (minced, or pureed)
    ¼ tsp smoked paprika
    ¼ tsp cayenne
    ½ tsp hot sauce
    ¼ tsp Worcestershire
    1 tsp Italian seasoning
    1 stalk green onion (chopped)
    2 Tbsp fresh parsley (chopped)
    1 cup bread crumbs (unseasoned)
    1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
pinch of salt and pepper to taste
    2 tbsp lemon juice
Optional garnish: fresh lemon wedges and ½ loaf of bread.
    1. Melt butter on low heat in a pot. Combine garlic, paprika, green onion, cayenne, hot sauce, Worcestershire, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Allow to simmer 1-2 minutes, then turn off heat.
    2. Allow butter to slightly cool (about 3-5 minutes), then add parsley. Mix.
    3. In a separate bowl, combine bread crumbs and cheese.
    4. Shuck open oysters, leaving them on the half-shell. Place on to grill, or oven pan (oyster meat facing up).
    5. Once water around the oyster begins the bubble, spoon on butter mixture to each oyster. Sprinkle breadcrumb mix over the sauce.
    6. Cook until most of the oyster juice has cooked off, and the breadcrumb mix is beginning to brown.
    7. Serve fresh with loaf of bread and garnish with lemon (optional).
    Tips:
*Garlic bread, or toasted bread is best to serve with dish.
*Freezing your oysters for at least one hour will make shucking them easier.
*Always soak your oysters for at least 30-60 minutes to allow any dirt to fall off, or pushed out by the oyster.
Red Spicy Thai Sauce (Serving size: 2-4 people)
    Ingredients
    8-12 fresh Thai chili peppers
1 tbsp. of dried Thai chili powder
    2 tbsp. chopped Cilantro
    2 tbsp. Tamarind Concentrate
    1 small shallot- chopped
    1clove of Garlic- minced
    1Tbsp. Roasted Rice Powder
    1/4 cup of Fish Sauce
    Juice 1/2 a lime
    1 tsp of water
    2 tbsp. of sugar
    Pinch of salt
    Directions
    1. Either grind Thai chili peppers in a mortar and pestle, or mince on a cutting board. Then mix in dried Thai Chili powder.
    2. Mince garlic, chop up cilantro, green onion, and shallot. Combine with chili peppers.
    3. In a bowl, stir in fish sauce, tamarind concentrate, rice powder, lime, water, sugar and salt until combined.
    4. Mix all ingredients together, and serve.
Tip: *Optionally, may heat up fish sauce, sugar, salt, and tamarind juice on low heat in a pot until sugar has dissolved. Must be completely cooled before adding remainder of ingredients.

Do not rinse liquor from oysters, after all that you put in those mixtures you will not even taste the flavor of the oysters. use chicken if your going to mask the oyster that much.

Rinsing kills the taste. There isn't an oyster bar in New Orleans that would do that. It would be considered a sin!

You wash them so that there are no sands or unwanted particles. What determine if your oysters are good is the sauce, not the oyster juice.

    • @TassieEats

+Yu Wang Hi Yu! Normally if I grill them, I leave the oysters with the shell on and have the heat release the shell, then I put the spicy Thai pepper sauce on top. The oysters are usually soaked for an hr in water to spit out the dirt. However, these were frozen for 2 hrs, so I had to manually clean them as they won’t spit out the dirt. Also, as I was making them in my oven, I always clean them out before cooking. As they cook, they release their own juices. I do not eat raw oysters. Thanks for watching!

    • @cristhlang4632
      @cristhlang4632 6 років тому

Yu... for real? Have you ever been to New Orleans or an oyster bar? They always rinse them out when they're shucked. As Tassie lives in MN, I doubt she got fresh-from-the-ocean-oysters. Don't like her recipe, don't put fish sauce in it.
