“If you have knowledge, let others light their candles in it” is a quote by Margaret Fuller that captures the essence of Dave Kelly's teaching. Thank you Dave - you are the BEST!
Another winner. I keep passing your videos on to my students. You explain things better than I do so thanks for making my life easier. There are so many great tips on this one. I have been watching it several times and taking lots of notes.
Happiness is TK Friday! My post processing editing is significantly better since I started watching all your tutorials. And today, yet again, I now how some new tricks and tips to try. Thanks Dave!
Another important lesson. I will use this often. The balancing of the image using Midtones 3 and Color Grading, now these actions are important tools in my toolbox in addition to all the others you have taught me. I thank you.
Hi Dave, excellent tutorial the TK8 Panel is very powerful, I really appreciate Tony and you collaboration to discover the power of this tool Thank you!
Colour Lum is today’s winner for me. Very good explanation of all the colour tools Dave. Just the right sort of video to help users make the most of TK8.
My dear Dave, I have learned so much from your videos, it is always fun to learn new things from you. Thank you for the inspiration and knowledge. Many greetings from the Baltic Sea!
Really great to have all the information about the color actions in one place so thanks for that. Something I picked up from this video as well was the use of layer mask mode to add a mask after making adjustments. In my thoughts the use of layer mask mode was to adjust an existing mask but now realise how much more useful it is.
,,,will be using the B&W adjustment layer in luminosity mode A LOT MORE! And combining the last tip with a Brightness/Contrast adjustment is super useful!!
Thanks, Mr. Kelly. This tutorial was mind blowing! The tips you showed us are so valueable. I'll certainly use them in a more effective way, specially the Color Clone action. Best regards from Rio de Janeiro/Brazil.
I have no favorite tip from this video cuz the tutorial is chock full of really useful information. So much so I rather think I need to go back and re-edit many many of the images I thought were complete. Please know that you have a talent for for explaining the TK8 panels and I appreciate the effort you put forth to bring it to us in these videos.
Your collaboration with Tony is so very fruitful every time. Another good explanation for separate tools and an amazingly great idea at the end. keep up with good work, both of you.... ;-)
Hi, friend. This is one of the best videos you've made. I learned and discovered a lot from this. There are so many good actions that I definitely want and will use. Thank you very much, Dave, for this wonderful video with super clear explanations. Antoine.
Another great tutorial. I can see myself referencing this information many times during my future edits. The TK8 panel is incredibly powerful and your tutorials help to demystify those powerful tools. I always look forward to your Friday morning videos. Thanks Dave for all the work that you give to this group.
Hi Dave. I enjoyed very much this TK Friday, and it has become one of my favorites. I've used some of the actions depicted in this tutorial. But now I really have a grasp, since you've gone through them one by one. Amazing power at your disposal. You can be sure I'll be using these techniques on my shots. Very nicely done, Dave! Thanks again!
Great lesson, Dave. I love the brightness/contrast with color clone. I use a few of the color actions, but this makes me more comfortable with all of them. You and Tony are a great team for getting the most out of TK8. Thank you very much.
Thanks Dave for another TK8 spectacular! I liked how your went down the whole list of color actions. Just about everybody is going to learn something new. I always amazed how you can do something in photoshop a zillion different ways. However, some ways are more quicker than others. I appreciate all the time you put into this series!
Very nice. I wrote Tony a line and he showed me that your promo code works fine on his site. I tried it before on a linked site to get a german tutorial and there it didnt work. It was my problem, now its okay Dave. This video helps a lot again. I am getting deeper and deeper into this great TK8 plugin.
Hey Dave, great video as always. I really liked the painting with contrast bit. I am trying to understand how this differs from dodging and burning although it seams to be faster as you don't need to generate masks first?
Hola Dave, está genial el video.... sobre las notas que comentas en el minuto 8:40 , ¿donde se pueden obtener? no estan en el "manual" o soy yo que no las he visto... Gracias ( tengo la version de Antonio Prado en castellano)
Dave - always look forward to your TK videos! Thanks! A question/observation - while I like to use your "before and after" action, especially now that you can put this action into the my action panel - I seem to the a problem. While this action works if I choose "Edit in PS" from LR, it does not work if I open the image as a smart object in PS - even if I rasterize the smart object after import. I do not know if I am the only one having this issue. If this was already brought to your attention I am sorry to have raised it again.
Your tutorials are great, if a little fast-paced. Can the colour actions in the TK menu (Add Colour etc) be associated with masks or do they always affect the whole image?
Hi, Dave. On the kiddy cats photo you painted (50% contrast) contrast 3 times; the last 2 were with a black brush and with a white brush, respectively. What color brush did you use the first time? Thank you for your tutorials! Have a nice weekend.
That was the default 50% Gray Brush, that comes up on the Color Picker Window, just click OK. You can also get that brush from the CX/Combo Panel. Just click the Gray brush Icon. The Gray brush gives you a general Contrast Adjustment.
Dave. - I tried to use the color clone action and it creates the color clone layer but there is no color picker window. I am probably demonstrating my lack of photoshop knowledge, but how do I get the picker to open? P.S. I really like your TK Friday tutorials.
As soon as you click on the Color Clone action the Color Picker dialogue box will open immediately. Give it another try and see if it does. You can also ALT or OPTION Click on the Foreground Brush Color Swatch and it should open also.
I just recently changed it so that the Adobe Color Picker opens when you run the Color Clone action. You need version 1.2.2 for that. Contact me using the contact form on my website if you don't have version 1.2.2. If you're using an older version of TK8, you can still can hold down ALT on Windows or "option" on Mac and pick your color that way. It's about as easy as using the Color Picker.
Hello Dave, I just love TK Friday and I try to practice with your notes. One thing : you often say "my wacom tablet" ! Ok I have one but could it be possible (or already done) to make a video about how you configure it ? Thank a lot 🙏👍

😃 Yes, color clone with brightness/contrast tuning is a big game changer. Thanks so much.

Thank you Dave, I learnt something new today, not really worked with the colour actions much, but that is going to charge soon 😊
Another masterclass.

Have you done one of these tutorials on the Tk Actions? If not it would be awesome. Thanks
Not yet Mike.

Steve I think it is the way the action is written. I will try it with a Smart Object and see if I have the same issue.
Brilliant 🙏
Your tutorials are great, if a little fast-paced. Can the colour actions in the TK menu (Add Colour etc) be associated with masks or do they always affect the whole image?
Thanks. You can use masks with the color actions or any actions for that matter.

@@thejoyofeditingwithdavekelly Thanks for your help. The Alt-click worked like a charm. Keep the videos coming, please.
Are the color action included in TK8?
Yes they are.
The link for TK8 Instruction Manual PDF does not work.
Mike I found the same issue. I updated the Link. Try it and comment back and let me know. Thanks.
Your before and after clicks are too fast. I cannot discriminate these differences. I’d guess about a 1-2 second comparison interval would help.
Hello Dave, I just love TK Friday and I try to practice with your notes. One thing : you often say "my wacom tablet" ! Ok I have one but could it be possible (or already done) to make a video about how you configure it ? Thank a lot 🙏👍
