Thanks Dave. This was just perfect. You really clarified when to use the specific mask type. I now have a much better understanding. I had never made use of the Vibrance/Saturation mask. That will change thanks to this lesson.
TK8 Masking Workshop Notes (Feel free to share)
    Luminosity Mask
Targets a specific starting tonal range for building a mask.
Use when wanting to select the lightest lights, darkest darks.
Also used for mid-tones masking. This excludes lightest lights and darkest darks. Best used for global tonal balance (mids-3) at the start of the editing process. This will protect you from any clipping.
Can make use of rgb or colour channels to isolate the masks.
Need to use Levels in order to lighten and tighten.
    Zone Mask
Targets a specific tonal range (0-10) for building a mask.
Use for zones 2 through 8. Otherwise, use a luminosity mask instead.
Able to easily lighten and tighten the mask with this tool.
    Colour Mask
Targets a specific colour range for building a mask.
Sliders are available in order to isolate the colour range that is being selected for the mask.
    Vibrance Mask
Targets weeker tones that need a colour boost for building a mask.
Ranges 3-4 are typically your best choice.
Lightest areas of the mask are the least saturated areas of the image. Darkest areas of the mask are the most saturated areas of the image.
Output to an HSL layer to boost the saturation.
    Saturation Mask
Targets over saturated colours that need to be desaturated for building a mask.
Used to desaturate over saturated areas of an image.
Lightest areas of the mask are the most saturated areas of the image. Darkest areas of the mask are the least saturated areas of the image.
Best to output to a separate layer and paint on the saturation.
    Click on Hamburger Icon
Click on Paint Brush with red & gray background Icon
Generates a blank pixel layer with a saturation blend mode
Brushes will be defaulted to gray and red (start at 20% opacity)
Use X key to switch between gray and red
    Gray - will decrease saturation
    Red - will increase saturation

One other comnent. For years, I was doing this with a darken layer and going in to darken the areas. Isolated the exact area is a godsend thru luminosity masking and your videos make it less complicated to use.

They come in very handy to look back on without having to locate the video and watch it again. I understand that time doesn't always allow these things but if you made any notes it would be handy to have something to refer to in times of forgetfulness. Cheers for now, (Nigel).

Hello Dave, thank you so much, this is useful because it was a bit confusing vs some notions as "Zone System" confusing with zone masking and also luminosity masking using a color picker witch could let me think that it was a "color" luminosity. Now everything is clear to me, tanks one more time.
