    I used to rearrange constantly. Still do when I get to deep cleaning. I used to joke that I didn't need insulation in my walls with all the layers of paint I had. I painted at least every 6 months. Oh for the energy I used to have.

    I just moved my bedroom around and it made all the difference! I used to rearrange my room as a teen all the time as you were saying! It felt good to change it up

    I loved changing the furniture around in my room when I was young. I used to do it a lot - I absolutely loved that it gave the room a whole new feel. So many great ideas in this video!! I really need to raise my curtains. Adding wooden decals to mirrors and then spray painting really elevates the look of the mirror. Great video Thankyou 😊

    No, the leg is not distracting. But taking about air and sitting positions and loving us is;) I love your ideas so let’s focus on that, shall we?😊
    Black window trims are brilliant btw.:)

    Omg you’re so f*cking right!! 😂 I 100% relate with moving furniture around and the 3 that make your room feel weird is the curtains, rug or placement lol 😂

    Hey Lanchen, I like your interior videos a lot! Could you do an interior video for homes with slanted roofs? It doesn't have to be a specific ''core'' but just original ideas to ''cope'' with the slanted roofs would be so helpful. I basically live in a lengthy rectangle but with slanted roofs on both sides so I can only stand up in the middle. It's a rented space so I can't do permanent transformations and it's hard to have storage without it looking messy. Much Love from the Netherlands

    I use photography backdrops to make a large statement piece on my walls as I'm a witch I have a old fashioned library with arch gothic window and an altar with a black cat. Love the victorian style in your home

    Yes! Move furniture! Since I was a kid. I was just thinking that the present perfect placement is getting stale. I just turned 75. I figure I've still got hopefully 20 more years of this. Then I'll rest for a few more.😅😊

    Just, your home transform skills are effective, dynamic & punk rock DIY, ofc!
    I too hope that Disney scouts you to be an Imagineer.
    Doing so would bring an asset to their credit list.
    The many skillsets in your wheelhouse would be a most welcome addition the Disney pallette lexicon, in my opinion.
    Happy early Samhain!
    PS Your sword spinning skills are
    remarkably impressive.
    You are quite powerful.
    Love you too.

    I’m about to cover the walls of my half-bath with dictionary pages. It’s a super old dictionary that is already coming apart, and I need to cover the horrific wallpaper in my bathroom that I tried to remove but found out the walls are not drywall, more like plywood boards. So the wallpaper isn’t peeling off like it should. So, I just have to cover it on a tiny budget. So thank you for the book page wall idea!!! I do feel bad sacrificing the old dictionary but it hasn’t been opened in decades and since writing is my hobby, it seems fitting. Plus, there will plenty of reading material in my bathroom when it’s done 😂.

    Tip: use thin electric tape in black to turn your modern windows into Tudor style. I also painted clear plastic used to cover shelves with stain glass designs. Stick it to a window or mirror for a classy look.

    • @21cormorants
      @21cormorants 3 місяці тому

      I had a similar thought too! However the tackiness of the glue on electrical tape is likely to remain on the windows/window sills afterwards, if it has sat there for a while. (You peel it off, but the tacky glue stays on both surfaces.) So if you do this, I’d recommend doing it with something you know will come off with minimal glue residue, or else the next person is going to be stuck dealing with windows that attract every piece of dust and debris. I’m thinking maybe even a water-activated tape (like the brown craft paper tape rolls that you wet with water to activate?) which might be more amenable to having the glue wiped away cleanly with just soap and water? Otherwise, I’d been thinking washi tape myself, but I took some off of a surface recently after it’d been there for a few years, and its glue had also been seeping into the surface it had been on. Easy to remove, sure, but the surface underneath was altered.

      @21cormorants Agreed, there are residual substances, whatever they are, on the glass, but I find a good spray with rubbing alcohol and a razor blade removes most. Paper based tape might be a problem in high humidity areas (southeast Texas is so bad about this), with condensation warping the tape. Washi tape fell right off after a week! 😆

    • @21cormorants
      @21cormorants 3 місяці тому

      @@araneljones Oh my gosh - I can’t imagine humidity that is that intense! I suppose my concern is that many people in rental properties would remove the tape without washing down the surface for the next person and might leave it a sticky mess. (Possibly speaking from experience, haha!) I’ll have to remember the rubbing alcohol, although hopefully it won’t damage paint?

    When I was young, I COULD move my furniture around because I had less OF it and din't have to worry about placement of wall hookups for cable TV or computer concerns. My clothes were made for somebody pretty tiny and my closet was actually bigger than the closet when I moved when I started college, so everything could fit in one little dresser or hang without the dowel bending or collapsing. Now I own things like wool and leather jackets and it's been several years since I had room to put pants on hangers, etc. Also, I switched from bunk beds to a love seat or futon to a captain bed which needed a bunch of room for that drawer to come out, which meant it couldn't go against certain walls anymore without getting in the way of a hamper or CD tower or whatever.

      I used to swap out my posters a bit more frequently, but then when I got the stereo cabinet in a set position, it was hard to get up behind the thing to wrangle thumb tacks and such, but I guess I'm a little old for posters mostly now, anyway, but I'm not throwing them all away just yet.

    • @Highland_Paddy
      @Highland_Paddy 4 місяці тому

      some of those cotton sheets are getting really expensive now, too. I just got one fitted one that cost twice what it likely should have [or more] and then the stupid quilt thing wasn't on sale and I had to pay shipping and didn't even get the matching one because I decided the colors were kinda similar so they would look OK mix-match more than just all samesies, but wasn't planning to stick any of these to a wall any time soon.

    • @Highland_Paddy
      @Highland_Paddy 4 місяці тому

      I spent about $300 on some "posters" many years ago, but they were printed on not the usual paper or something, so when they rolled up, some of the printing scratched off, so that was a bit disappointing when I moved them since I think they cost a bit more than the ones at Michael's or whatever, but more the unique designs I wanted. Actually, some of the Van Gogh ones from Michael's are on a good heavy paper for framing than the usual rock band ones, so those may have been around the same price, blah, blah. BUT then they don't look quite right in those cheap plastic poster frames they sell. I do prefer the plexi to the real glass overall, though. Less weight to hang and then you don't have to worry about broken glass around kids or pets if there's a mishap, etc.

    • @Highland_Paddy
      @Highland_Paddy 4 місяці тому

      I have some glass frame art here because I thought I was "adulting" and they're all in broom closet and thing right now when I gave up worrying about where to hang them where they could be permanent and not turn into a nuisance, etc.

    Macktack/vinyl rolls stick better and conform to curves if you warm it with a blowdryer while you’re putting it on. Use a credit card to squeegee it down on flat surfaces, use a dry sponge on curves.
