One great thing about these simulator streams is the quality community perspectives you get from people who perform the related professions in real life when they chime in via chat/voice.
The bow planes of the Alfa are like that because they retract straight into the hull rather than fold back like most Soviet nuke boats. The hardware needed to move and retract them is bulky so they slide in over/under each other. The umbrella logo is the distress buoy.
MicroProse, now that is a name I haven't heard for many a year. MicroProse the Simulation King, they called them. Edit: Triassic Games is the new Simulation King now.
It’s worth saying is that Mircropose is not the same company that was so loved and legendary from long ago. They are just a handful of stockholders that bought the Microprose name to ride the money train for its goos name. About 95 % of their games are external developers that publish under Microprose, the other 5 % are games under own development like The Bloody 100th & The mighty Eight VR that have gone silent for about 2 years now and they completely alienate and ignore their own community in total disregard their own fanbase and with a complete lack of any PR seem to think they still live in the 90s in this regard, exactly the opposite of what the real Microprose was about
my grandfather was a machinist mate on a destroyer during the Korean War. The first week he was onboard he was assigned to kitchen duty for the officer's mess. He couldn't find where the coffee filters were so, in desperation, he used his sock as a filter.
1:06:08 Those are creeper motors. Soviet subs liked to sit of the Eastern Seaboard to listen to radio chatter etc. So what they'd do is point their nose into the current of the Gulf Stream and use the creeper motors to basically sit still in the water. They'd do like 3 knots for station keeping. Would be neat if they worked in game.
Every time you have an Aircrafts, ship or whatever, what they're currently doing will be shown on the bottom left, next to "status". So ex: at 3:13:04 when you give the order to the Seaprite, you can see the status changing from "heading to waypoint" to "aligning", most likely because he was too low to drop a torpedoe. With this said, good luck on ur next adventures.
Pro tip if you are playing the US, the rule of thumb is if you are close enough to use your own torpedoes you are already dead. Always work your flight detachment.
This particular genre "modern naval" combat does has a "High Skill Floor" . You need good knowledge of the subject matter, platforms and its systems in order to succeed. For "Hunters or Hunted" scenario, the soviet ships can take out the inbound US mk48 torps with the RBU-6000 rockets. For "Valuable Target", the player has to practice Emission control on the surface ships in order to avoid being localized by the NATO ships and getting swarmed with RGM-84 harpoon missiles.

There is a plane in this that I didn't expect to see a buccaneer, awesome game of the year.
Raptor this is awesome. you have real navy guys talking about their experiences while playing sea power.

@@ossie19681 Thanks for the info.
All hail the true king, Triassic Games, the actual Sea Power devs.
@@samsungsmartfridge3173 Good correction.

"USS Coca-Cola is firing 9 Mountain Dews" Now I'm laughing. Why is that funny???

The Los Angeles class sub did not have tomahawks because it's a Flight 1 version. The vls was introduced with Flight 2.
As a side note, cavitation decreases the deeper you go because of the water pressure.
Fascinating and interesting 🏈 !! 🎉

This absolutely. Your best anti-submarine warfare tool is your aviation detachment. Get your helo working. Subs can kill ships, they can't kill helos.
Seems like US Stealth Destroyer Sonar Officers dont know too much about russian subs xD
Interesting food insight tho.
🚀
Dude didn’t say hamsters he’s not a squid
There is a huge balance mess in the game. Hopefully they work on it before release

Carriers are the most boring ships in games like this using just subs and surface combatants is when its the most fun.
Do you generally have bad opinions on other topics as well?
