- In depth demonstration of the new Kermit MK3 Quad Modulation Aid.
Kermit is a 4-channel, programmable, tempo-synchronized supermodulator with morphing wavetable generator and internal modulation matrix. Four channels operate as LFOs, audio rate oscillators (with 1v/octave response on two channels), 1-shot envelopes, random voltage generators, or sample-and-holds, all responding to manual control, external control voltages, or synchronization to the module’s master tap tempo clock, with every parameter storable as presets. External CV inputs and an internal modulation matrix provide most synthesis control and voice functions in a self-contained, programmable package. Designed for maximum patching power in small systems, Kermit has an extremely high functionality-per-HP factor and fast, recallable operation dependable in live performance.

Thank you! Thats really helpful.
THANK YOU! Was hoping someone had done this.

You bandwagon jumping supporter of terrorist states.
Just ordered one. Been putting it off forever. Excited.
I’ve spent the last 2 days going through this video with the Kermit I finally got. I’ve had the first one for a while but this is a different beast entirely. K3 might be one of the greatest modules ever made. I remember watching this video years ago and thinking it was more complex than I wanted to deal with but since I got other mk3 modules and realized how simple they are to use( because they have a screen. Sometimes modules need screens people, get over it) I’m breezing right through leaning it. This video is very helpful. Thanks.
Great job ! Insane module, I think I need a second Kermit MKIII.
mine comes next week and it really puts Batumi to shame which I thought was the best LFO until I learned about the kermit! As a sucker for LFOs, this was a must buy for my setup.
Waiting for one and already thinking i need 2
@@mamakuproject you wont regret
I have two right now
me too!
@@votekmendo6485 No you want 3 !!! maybe four ?
Thanks for this, but man... please cut the music before you start narration. For those who want to skip to the non-techno-fighting-with-voiceover part it's @1:08
Great module and video. Would be really good if it was time stamped due to the length!
I got one of the new batch and I love it.
The thing I would most like to see in future firmware is more clock divisions for tap tempo.
Can’t wait to get one. I want an IME system. So far all I have is a PH MK1 but I’m saving my pennies. While people are hyped on beads I’m holding out for the IME granular, and a SH MK3!
When will you have the next production batch of the Piston Honda MK3 ready to purchase?
I'd like to know why channel linking / OSC sync only works on C&D but not on A and B. In the video a quadrature LFO is mentioned (which as the name suggests consists of 4 LFOs all phase shifted by 90 degrees). I don't see how this would practically be achieved with Kermit. I can set channel A as my master and put both C and D in Osc sync mode with A as the source but then I would always have to adjust B completely seperately which, especially for the precise frequency, is pretty annoying. Also I don't quite understand the difference between putting C and D in Osc sync mode with both having the A channel as source or setting C to channel A as source and D to C/D as source. The latter only results in a glitchy bpm reading on the display for me. Would really love to have OSC sync available on B as well and I think it would make total sense. If anyone shed some light here that would be much appreciated.
KERMIT + PISTON + BIONIC = Deadly combination ... :0 :0
what a beautiful and disgusting module. must have.
mine finally came and I am learning it. Superb module! Crazy tones and infinite options. Very powerful and deep module. Loving it.
Guhhhhhhhhhhhh This is what I'm looking for
I would love to add this to.my rack when my finances are healthy and musicready again
it is quite fun and powerful- I want the Hertz Donut MK3 and Piston Honda MK3 now.
So new to modular synthesis but I can tell this would be a very useful purchase.
This is Insane!!!
Its so sick that the LFO's past a certain frequency become Gnarly basses
If utilized to FM another Oscillator
This technique can be quite an insane tool of destruction
Kermit = only your imagination limits it
Another amazing video overview. Thanks Z
Great tutorial -- thanks for putting in the time for an in-depth explanation. At times, hard to hear your voice over the audio.
This video hurt my brain...
In a good way.
Superb tutorial as it really helped me learn and demystify this amazing yet complex deep module. Really loving mine and it takes a boring Doepfer basic VCO and adds spice and life. Now looking forward to getting the Hertz Donut MK3 and Piston Honda MK3 along with the Double Andore and Stillson Hammer MK3.
Thanks for creating an in-depth overview. So helpful with all the great features.
Oh... it would be great to have chapters or timestamps, making it easier to jump to the lfo, osc, eg, xmod, etc.
Imposible to hear whats being said without getting your ears blown out by the harsh sounds
love complex sin
This Beast and a Double Andore is a full orchestra
That’s Insane
Is there going to be another line of these launched? Would love to get my hands on one of these!
gorgeous Scott !
Amazing⚡️
As much as I love complex digital noise, and believe me.. I do! I can barely hear the narrator speak above the oscillator tones sometimes?
This creator is another genius!
want!!!
Love this module but it feels cramped for my fat fingers. . Might change out the knobs and see if that helps.
I feel like all their modules are just way too busy and cramped. The screens are so small as to be worthless IMO
I need one !!
Question: does this module save its state between power cycles, so I don't have to save a preset and recall it every time I come back to working?
You can set the startup preset to be any of the 8 stored preset, but you'll have to manually save your state before turning off your session. I think it's more practical this way so you wont overwrite your work by accident.
How deep is the module?
Balls deep!
Sorry if this was covered in the video. Can the modes be mixed? That is can I have a couple in LFO mode and a couple in Osc mode?
Each channel can be set to any one of the functions and those functions can cross modulate across the matrix through the Xmod capability. It's a deep module which is why this demo video is something like twice as long as any other demo from the MK3 series.
Thanks for reply. Very cool. On my list.
