Best instructor by far on UA-cam! Thank you Danny! Everyone should subscribe, comment and share his videos with all your friends! Unless you play your friends for money, skip that last one because they will get better instantly!!!
What separates Danny from other teachers is his breakdown of lessons. Other UA-cam teachers tell you what not to. Danny flips this on its head and tells you what to do. Then he breaks down how you do it, normally in three steps. The use of the positive rather than the negative truly distinguishes him from everyone else. Thanks for all your lesson breakdowns Danny.
Absolutely wish i could be a student and learn directly. I'm glad these videos exist at least. I only watch Danny as his explanation is simple to grasp and other creator tutorials have different techniques, so it's easier to maintain consistency learning from one person like Danny and not trying to mix several ideas into one shot from many different advices.
Absolutely brilliant. Precise and to the point and very easy to follow and practise. I watch each video a number of times and even carry the lesson plans to the range. Your passion for the game and to help other golfers at all levels is superb.Thanks.
This golf video is filled with the beauty and stability of a golf swing. It has reassured and invigorated my passion for golf. The video has sparked a renewed commitment to enhancing my own skills and confidence in the game. Thank you for sharing this uplifting content!
Hi Danny, I’ve followed you for a year or more now and you are, without a doubt one of the best. However, as a senior golfer (mid handicap), I would love you to run your recent lessons with your dad. With slightly less rotational ability it’s not always easy. Your dad makes a great senior student for us more mature golfers to measure ourselves against. Cheers Danny. Andrew
One of the best videos you have made. After watching this I went to the practice nets at my club, it took me a few swings to get into the groove but the difference is unbelievable. My irons were inconsistent, I always felt I should be getting more distance and by doing this I'm getting a much more powerful swing with less effort. I wish I knew this at the start of the season, it's effectively one turn on the way back and committed follow through. As you're making an arc you don't need to concern yourself about where the ball is or what your wrists and arms are doing etc. You know you're going to meet the ball perfectly if your takeaway is correct. I've had a number of lessons but this has just clicked for me. I'm off to the range at lunchtime to practice again in the rain ☔.
Your visualizing a paint brush technique in a past video transformed my game. I am looking forward to praticing this next time i go out. Thanks for all you do
Hey Danny, thanks for all the videos and tips. You are the only youtube teacher our golf teacher recommended, since then I’ve been watching and working your drills and tips non stop. Big greetings from Germany 🇩🇪
Love your videos! I have a question/observation that you may want to comment on in a future video. At 1:07 -1:11 you say "we are creating a circle around the body... and it works back to the golf ball here." However, the club doesn't just go up, around and back to the same position as at address. Somewhere in the process, your hips turn, because when you show the body at impact, the hips are turned. To put it differently: at address your hips are square to the target line...but at impact they are not. You don't return to the same position as at address. This seems like a very important point to make, and to talk about where/when in the swing the hips twist relative to the club. Maybe I'm the only one who wonders about this, but it seems like a good subject to address.
Excellent information and demonstration Danny on the proper movement of the right arm, right side, and 45* circle in the golf swing! This is something I have been working on and this video basically gives me additional information and a definite validation of my work. As Always Danny, Great Job! This video will be archived for future viewing!
Your lesson with Pete Cowen a few weeks ago introduced me to this (new to me) approach to my swing. That lesson was an eye opener, but you have a way of teaching that really made it stick with me as you repeated that lesson in the weeks that followed. That has given me a consistency and a confidence that I never had. Thank you! Tom
I am a bit confused on the right arm movement. This video vs "The Secret ..." with or your followup to your lesson with Pete Cohen. Should you try to move the right arm on the backswing to straighten position this video (although you said in reality it will bend) or fold as in the lesson with Pet Cohen? I may or must be misinterpreting something. Maybe it is simply different swing thoughts but the correct position is the same... Other than this question it is the same. Edited - You addressed my questions at the end of this video. Thanks for all your help/videos. You are one of my favorites..
You introduced this video with the spot on words for me as I finally had my irons working only to lose my feel for the driver, which normally had been my best part. Thank you Danny for getting me on the right track again, remembering the power created by the right side of body instead of throwing my trail arm at the ball.
Another gem, Danny. I can´t express how much this video resonates with me. You are describing exactly what I feel on my good days. Will watch this video before every round from now on!!! Thank you so much!!
Dan, you're the guru of golf😊 I'm just letting you know that for the 2nd time in 4yrs I have won our club championship🏆 this is all thanks to you and your great lessons, for this I thank you 👏
Man that is great! Well done. I was playing my home course n played with volunteer/marshal and 3rd hole he said I should compete in the senior division. I never thought I could even be legit but now I am going to try and maybe pull off your great feat! Danny is super n boy has he helped!! Lots of fun playing sir. Texas
Bit late to it this morning. There is a wee bit of matchplay on the telly. Terrific clarity on the right side that I have been working on a lot recently following the Cowen lessons. And it has worked with the longer sticks. Thanks for the lessons Danny.
Since making your pete cowen move/lesson I have been hitting my irons on the heel. I feel the power and consistency but need help with heel strikes. What do you think I'm doing? Thanks. I can't wait till I have this. I'm almost there.
Just came from the range. Outstanding, Danny! I watched all the Cowen vids and had trouble executing the method until today. This explanation finally clicked for me. 😮
I was struggling with the spin it down from the Pete Cowen video but I think I have it now. Key for me was keeping my right arm tucked back, down and thru the finish.
Thursday of this week I broke 80 for the first time. Thanks to you of course :) I keep adding layers of knowledge to my swing - just like the great advice from today's video.
Simple and right at the point explanation. Thank you so much Danny. Hope some day I could come to UK to get direct lesson from you. I am in Calgary Canada
Invaluable lesson as always thank you Danny - this and other lessons of yours beg a question. A while ago you advocated 'shallowing' and that was very helpful for me. No mention of it in any of your lessons since. Can you re-visit this topic and how it relates to your recent lesson? Thanks again.
Thanks Danny. In Hogan’s 5 Lessons, I mistook his advice on holding elbows and upper arms rather tight against his sides, that one should keep the right elbow rather tight all the way up on the backswing. I see now from your video and my own practice that one’s right elbow needs to be more out at the top.
Thanks Danny. This, combined with the excellent advice from Pete Cowan, has helped me to understand the mechanics of a good golf swing in a way I never have before. It seems many golfers go out without even trying to understand the basics but those who do want to understand the fundamentals (like me) have been poorly served by masses of inadequate and conflicting advice, jargon and fads. You manage to keep it simple by sticking to the relatively small number of elements that really matter.
Good video Danny - is there a chance you could do a video incorporating this with the on-course lesson you gave Liam (Golf Mates)? I am seeing some progress but seem to lack a bit of height with driver!
Danny following on from the Pete Cowan video do you recommend sticking with that new golf swing? The reason I ask is your follow on videos seem to support that swing with pushing the hand down and into the ball. Great videos btw
My mantra has been, "set the wrists, follow through." That's it. I don't worry about releasing the wrists at all. It truly has made all of the difference in my iron swing
Great Video Sir, It's almost like throwing the right arm and body down the line instead of pulling the club through the line. We're leaning! And keeps the turn on the back swing pretty simple? Yet unlearning the weak elbow. Thanks again Sir.
Yep. When I do this, I hit the ball really well. But often I don't continue the right side rotation enough, which results in hits offline. I guess practice makes perfect (or at least reasonable adequate). Thanks for the reinforcing lesson.
Great video. These are the same feelings I found after working through your Pete Cowen videos. As a side note, pretty brave of you to be out in front and to the right on the driving range!
As always great video! Some pros teach feeling that left arm, triceps and shoulder complex, latissimus dorsi are driving club and not right side as you suggest. I’m right handed and tried both sensations and hit slightly farther and straighter using left side!
Great video again. Gotta say i also watch Andy Carter and guess why i like both y'all.....Pete !! You two teach his method and what i like you both put your unique touches. Since i really started applying your technique i must say the improvement is really coming along. Decent at 60 yrs old now my last 3 rounds in mid upper 70s and had some really bad mental flubs but holy crap take a double away n a few more pars and wow. My driving has really improved along with irons. Short game with you n Pete...omg... i have so much more confidence around the greens. Like new life has blown into my game i honestly believe i can have a sub par round eventually. That says alot for an older guy that i can improve soooo much! BRAVO Danny and company! I would love to see you and Andy playing in his Sunday Scramble! Chk it out... love n new life from Texas.....
Great video! I have had some very good success with this. While I was practicing this I noticed that some of my shots were going to the left (right-handed). I had the thought - what would happen if I added some left-side pull to the right-side push? Aside from getting even more power/distance into the shots, this really straightened them out. What I also noticed is that if I favored the left side, the shot would fade. If I favored the right side - it would draw. Maybe your next video?
Danny, watching this it seems you are pulling the club inside on the backswing ?? On the downswing do you have seperation between the lower and upper body ??? Love your videos ❤ Could you please clarify things re my above queries 😊
Danny, this is Fantastic, HOWEVER, it looks as though the Right side Controls the ACTION, i.e. Are we Not to Start the Downswing with Left side Bump & Turn? Or is it just a Purely Right side down and AROUND? I'd love to PUSH OFF with my Trail Leg instead of STEP/BUMP/TURN UP LEFT with LEAD LEG-Hip-foot. Too much Thinking!! Would Love to here, Tks Sal Patanio.
Hi Andy, first you have to establish why your shaft is wanting to get steep. Is it because it’s too flat in the backswing and thus requires a steepening to hit down on the ball. Is the club face open at the top causing the body to attempt to close the club face on the way down leading to a steepening. There are a few things that cause a steepening but I would always start with club face first and then work back from there
Great video, Danny! 👍 👍 You made it look so easy and simple.😊 Will definitely use this on the range to improve my game. Thank you so much for all your wonderful tips and lessons.
Danny, love the idea of right arm moving through the downswing with the motion of the body. Do you have any suggestions for someone like myself who has limited internal rotation of the left hip and has trouble with the down and through body motion. Thanks. Bill
Hi Bill, the less mobile you are the more right arm throw you are likely to have which is great if you are happy to play with a draw. Have you been given any exercise to increase mobility in this area?
Yes, I’m working on them now with a physical therapist at Par4Success. Slow going. And, I’m older. 83, but otherwise quite mobile. Any other adaptations other than throwing the hands? Thanks.
Thanks Danny. Question from me, I’m left hand dominant, play golf right handed. You focus on trail arm, any tips for the left arm to stop it dominating?
💯 and I will give it more focus in future videos. In the meantime if you do this exercise and then ask yourself, what’s my left arm doing now? How is it working differently? This is another approach
Brilliant as always. As I said recently your thought of arm/elbow position (right for me) and the concept of arms lift body turns has been an incredible plus in my swing. Thanks Danny.
Hi danny Again great instruction.. but how to keep te wrist angles when increasing swing speed.. few weeks back you told me there will be a video about this.. did I miss it? Let me know Hans
Yo Danny! In this video you indicate that the right arm is "almost" straight on the backswing. When I try to do this...I do not get hardly any left wrist hinge. Is that what you want us to do, i.e., less left wrist hinge? Thanks. BigG
It really look simple when you do this Danny. But I know from several sessions on the Driving Range trying this it is not that easy to change your swing after many years ☺. But I keep on pushing. Thank you - once again - for your wonderful videos.
Something I've always struggled with is the "release" phase. If you have the (near) perfect arc with your arms in perfect position, as you come back through, if you're going for a straight shot or inside out draw, the club face stays open relative to its initial position. So what I'll sometimes get is a perfectly straight ball flight but just pushed to the right wherever the face is pointed. The only advice I received that ever fixed this (even if it's not great advice), was simply to swing faster as swinging faster closes the club face on impact. And it does, but it's still not really a release, just swinging faster which doesn't feel right. It would also be interesting to see a video on some more dynamic movement for faster swings. I guess some would call it timing, but really just eliminating as much shaft flex as possible that also ends up opening the face even with perfect static dynamics like shown in this video (unless you're one of those long drivers who like the flex shaft and doesn't care about consistency). I'd be really curious to hear thoughts on that
I think ive almost mastered this technique apart from a slightly out to in almost curved divot although the shot is straight. The distance is a little short so I'll try looking ahead of the ball to straighten up the divot. I think the short distance is mainly my speed but will put that down to age 😢. Keep up the good work, Barry.
Danny I injured my hip a week ago by doing an easy swing. I pulled a muscle. I had done the routine golf drill warmups which is rotating with pivoting , both feet together, and turning the club the other way to practice the circle. Then I hit about 25 balls easy 3/4 swing and pulled my muscle and it really hurt. Had to go to ER for the pain. It’s much better now. Do you have any suggestions of how to prevent this. William
Awesome Danny …. cracked Cowans turn it down … put pressure on the ball Much better description of the same intent I like how your instruction of trail arm path and delivery Very good
Is my observation correct? You are focused on, or right behind the ball during your backswing, but after stepping into your forward weight shift and commencing your downswing you shift your focus to some intermediary point 3 -4 feet ahead. Is this your own personal proclivity and would you recommend it for us also.
Great video, had a shocker of a round at a golf day yesterday, I'm getting on the range tomorrow and trying this. I and many followers would love to see you play some UA-cam golfers like Andy Carter and James Robinson.
Thanks again Danny, another great informative video have just started doing this and it really does help, but good to see Liam would be nice to see maybe a video on how you have helped Liam, if he doesn't mind that is, to show a before Danny lessons and then after say maybe six months then a year , keep them coming mate.
I understand the need for fairly straight arms … BUT, when I try to add wrist hinge at the top of the swing, my arm tends to collapse some. It’s as if the wrist and elbow are connected 🤔 Thus, if if focus on straighter arms, I end up with less wrist hinge; and if I focus on setting my wrists, my arm bends some. Any suggestions for separating the two? 🤷🏼♂️
Great lesson Danny. Keeping the arm straight hasn't been a strength for me, hopefully your lesson will help me fix the problem. Watching the multitude of golfers from both teams in the Ryder Cup, its evident how they keep the swing straight and compact with little gap between arm and rib cage. Have a great week. Go Europe!

60 yrs young and never too old to learn thanks to you Danny 👍🥃🇨🇦
As always, a simple but very effective explanation of the biomechanics. Thanks Danny.

Hi Danny,
I’ve followed you for a year or more now and you are, without a doubt one of the best. However, as a senior golfer (mid handicap), I would love you to run your recent lessons with your dad.

Thanks! At 6:40 pushing thru... 7:00 ish was really helpful.
That’s super kind thank you
Your visualizing a paint brush technique in a past video transformed my game. I am looking forward to praticing this next time i go out. Thanks for all you do
Wonderful!
Hey Danny, thanks for all the videos and tips. You are the only youtube teacher our golf teacher recommended, since then I’ve been watching and working your drills and tips non stop. Big greetings from Germany 🇩🇪
Thank you! Appreciate the support 👍
Brilliant Danny!! Just what the doctor ordered. You are the best in the business!!
@jvelez1998 thank you so much for your lovely comment. It really does mean a lot. Enjoy practicing 🙏🏻
Excellent information and demonstration Danny on the proper movement of the right arm, right side, and 45* circle in the golf swing! This is something I have been working on and this video basically gives me additional information and a definite validation of my work. As Always Danny, Great Job! Awesome to hear Tom
Danny I can’t get enough of your demonstration of the Pete Cowan system! I am hitting my irons more crisp it crisp! 🇨🇦
Thanks!
Super kind thank you Fred
I am a bit confused on the right arm movement. This video vs "The Secret ..." with or your followup to your lesson with Pete Cohen. Should you try to move the right arm on the backswing to straighten position this video (although you said in reality it will bend) or fold as in the lesson with Pet Cohen? I may or must be misinterpreting something. Maybe it is simply different swing thoughts but the correct position is the same... Other than this question it is the same. Absolutely Carl, the right arm will fold naturally you just don’t pull it behind you
You introduced this video with the spot on words for me as I finally had my irons working only to lose my feel for the driver, which normally had been my best part. Thank you Danny for getting me on the right track again, remembering the power created by the right side of body instead of throwing my trail arm at the ball.

You are an inspiration Patrick keep it up
Another gem, Danny. I can´t express how much this video resonates with me. You are describing exactly what I feel on my good days. Will watch this video before every round from now on!!! Thank you so much!!

Danny to try and put couple things together could you make a video where meld this video with the “catapult” concept?
This driver piece is especially helpful to me because I've been struggling off the Tee. Crystal clear. I hope to mimic the action. Thanks Danny-Russ
Thank you Russ 😁
Thanks DM. Awesome tips. Great drill. Joseph
Thank you Joseph
Great session, I would like to know how ones weight shifts and when through the swing to complete the picture.
Dan, you're the guru of golf😊

Bit late to it this morning. There is a wee bit of matchplay on the telly. Terrific clarity on the right side that I have been working on a lot recently following the Cowen lessons. And it has worked with the longer sticks. Thanks for the lessons Danny.
Pleasure John, the Ryder Cup has been epic if you are European
Since making your pete cowen move/lesson I have been hitting my irons on the heel. I feel the power and consistency but need help with heel strikes. What do you think I'm doing? Thanks. I can't wait till I have this. I'm almost there.
Just came from the range. Outstanding, Danny! I watched all the Cowen vids and had trouble executing the method until today. This explanation finally clicked for me. 😮

Danny you’re incredible! Thank you for a masterpiece of a lesson! You rock
Just really happy to help Matt
Smashed it yet again Danny. Thank you. So helpful as always. Sooo right with the consistency in the irons and driver. 👍
Thank you Lucas

Great video, as always, Danny. Keep up the good work mate.😊😊
Thank you Andrew have a great weekend
Lovely lesson Danny.
A great continuation of your recent lessons with the great Pete Cowen can’t wait to try it out. Mark
Glad you enjoyed it Mark
Simple and right at the point explanation. Thank you so much Danny. Hope some day I could come to UK to get direct lesson from you. I am in Calgary Canada
I hope so too!

Great lesson! I like how this ties in with last week's lesson. Going to work on this today!
Hi Danny do you throw the entire right side or just the right arm also what role does the left arm play thanks for your help kindly advise Jack
Danny following on from the Pete Cowan video do you recommend sticking with that new golf swing? The reason I ask is your follow on videos seem to support that swing with pushing the hand down and into the ball. Great videos btw
👌
Hi Danny what are the wrists doing at impact. Looks like you are releasing but you didnt mention anything. Thanks.
My mantra has been, "set the wrists, follow through." That's it. I don't worry about releasing the wrists at all. It truly has made all of the difference in my iron swing
Danny, I've watched your videos for some time now, you are simply the best, thank you👍

Great Video Sir, It's almost like throwing the right arm and body down the line instead of pulling the club through the line. We're leaning! And keeps the turn on the back swing pretty simple? Yet unlearning the weak elbow. Thanks again Sir.
Happy to help 👍 Loren
Yep. When I do this, I hit the ball really well. But often I don't continue the right side rotation enough, which results in hits offline. I guess practice makes perfect (or at least reasonable adequate). Thanks for the reinforcing lesson.

Yes you can use both. In this video I discuss how it works with the left side ua-cam.com/video/brOUtoR-CCw/v-deo.htmlsi=bhKb1TYH-u6CjniM
allways look forward to Saturday mornings for this , thank you
Glad you enjoy it Pip
Great video and tip - I will definitely being trying this tip out this week. Thanks.
Excellent. I have never seen this drill before. Very good visual. Thanks
😊
Thank you Gary 😁
Wonderful and insightful lesson. I would love to know how far you hit your driver in that instance, angle of attack and ball flight.
It’s coming towards winter here so I will be back in the studio where you will get to see all my numbers 👍
Great drills. Would my impact bag help also reinforce the concepts in this video.
Absolutely
Always sooooo good! Learning so much from you thanks!!!
Thank you 😁
Great video and tips💗 I had my first par yesterday by using your tips. Thanks😁

Help with a 3 wood please. I can hit a draw or fade as need with ever club except my 3 fairway wood. It starts straight then turns right or slices.
Hi I thought the trail arm elbow must bend and to extend during down swing ? Not ?
Great video! I have had some very good success with this. While I was practicing this I noticed that some of my shots were going to the left (right-handed). Absolutely what ???

Wonderful lesson! Thank you, Danny!
Glad you liked it!
How do you stop the shaft steepening in the transition (without looping it behind you)? Hope that makes sense :)
Thanks again, Danny 💪🏻

I love everything you do mate! I just need more time at the range to get it right. Cheers 😀
You can do it Matt 👍
I’ve been wondering for years what actually hits the golf ball. Hands, shoulders, turn or hips. This was explained so well!!! CHEERS
Glad you enjoyed it Nigel
Thanks Danny! Another pearl of wisdom.
Thanks Rick 😁
Thanks mate. Spent the day down the range working on this. Worked an absolute treat, such an effective swing thought/process.
Brilliant as always. As I said recently your thought of arm/elbow position (right for me) and the concept of arms lift body turns has been an incredible plus in my swing. Thanks Danny.
Thank you
How do you download the practice guide?
Perfect swapping irons and woods described my last four trips to the range
Danny, with the right arm, right hand push how does that incorporate into your concept of the catapult.
Danny , another great video . . cheers mate 🍺
Hi danny
Again great instruction.. but how to keep te wrist angles when increasing swing speed.. few weeks back you told me there will be a video about this.. did I miss it?
Let me know
Hans
Hi Hans, this really helps you keep the wrist angles as it naturally gets the bigger muscles to work
Yo Danny! In this video you indicate that the right arm is "almost" straight on the backswing. When I try to do this...I do not get hardly any left wrist hinge. Is that what you want us to do, i.e., less left wrist hinge? Thanks. BigG
Danny,
Using the right arm to create width is extremely helpful with all clubs
Great Video Danny You Are The Best ! Period 😊
Super happy to help Thomas
What is the left hand doing Danny, thanks in advance
After doin the forearm rotation drill im compressing my irons more consistently and my misses for both irons and driver are a lot smaller
It really look simple when you do this Danny. But I know from several sessions on the Driving Range trying this it is not that easy to change your swing after many years ☺. But I keep on pushing. Thank you - once again - for your wonderful videos.
You can do it Marc

Dear Danny, my angel sit on my shoulder and talking to me when I do my golf swings. Love your precisions and technics. Thanks Danny! ❤
William
Rewatch from 8:34 to 8:40. Those six seconds where he talks about the right elbow pointing down are really important.
Awesome Danny …. cracked Cowans turn it down … put pressure on the ball
Much better description of the same intent
I like how your instruction of trail arm path and delivery
Very good
thankyou danny, this excellent tip is straight in the quiver, 👍🎯
Have fun
Well done Danny just had a practice hitting the ball well 😊
Is the right arm bend at impact?
Slightly but it’s not my intention to keep it bent
At impact should both my right hip and right elbow match together?
That could be a nice thing to imagine
Is my observation correct? You are focused on, or right behind the ball during your backswing, but after stepping into your forward weight shift and commencing your downswing you shift your focus to some intermediary point 3 -4 feet ahead. Is this your own personal proclivity and would you recommend it for us also.
Great video, had a shocker of a round at a golf day yesterday, I'm getting on the range tomorrow and trying this. I and many followers would love to see you play some UA-cam golfers like Andy Carter and James Robinson.
I’m sure that will happen
Thanks again Danny, another great informative video have just started doing this and it really does help, but good to see Liam would be nice to see maybe a video on how you have helped Liam, if he doesn't mind that is, to show a before Danny lessons and then after say maybe six months then a year , keep them coming mate.
Absolutely Paul, we have been thinking about doing that
I understand the need for fairly straight arms
… BUT, when I try to add wrist hinge at the top of the swing, my arm tends to collapse some. It’s as if the wrist and elbow are connected 🤔
Thus, if if focus on straighter arms, I end up with less wrist hinge; and if I focus on setting my wrists, my arm bends some.
Go Europe!
Absolutely Matt
Thanks Danny, great video. Reaffirms exactly what I’m working on at the moment
Thanks David!
