    I am 67 and started playing in 78. I play from hcap 4. Have always been fighting a slight cross at the top and a steep shaft on the down swing and nobody has been able to crack the code for me before. I have good timing at impact and livet with that. Your combination of setting the trail arm before turning back give me the right feeling of where the club should be at the top and keeping the shoulder back while lowering the club does the trick. Thanks again

    Awesome. I like the feeling of lowering a bicep curl. I think Xander Shauffle has the purest form of this move. Cool thing about this too is if you do slow motion reps in front of a camera or mirror you’ll notice how this keeps the club shaft on plane.

    I am absolutely blown away by this. Went to the range and followed the process (a bit less diligently), the strikes were so powerful with little effort. Irons, hybrid and 3wood perfect, but duck hooking the driver. Do you have any video for that? I think I started going too in to out at some point!

    • @MyGolfDNA
      @MyGolfDNA  4 місяці тому

      There is a 4 step driver video on the channel that was released inside the last 6 weeks. Maybe check that out and see if it helps you at all. If not, it sounds like you might be creating too much secondary spine tilt (spine leaning away from the target) which shifts the swing plane more in to out and can lead to a higher rate of closure in the club face which = snap
      Hook pretty quickly. Hope that helps.

    • @MyGolfDNA
      @MyGolfDNA  Місяць тому

      You need to make sure you get fully shifted to the left when working this drill and make sure the arms are not firing out of sequence. That should eliminate the fat shots pretty quickly.

    Hi Chris: I did a number of reps on Thursday and took it to the course here in Mexico. First pitching wedge I hit was flushed. Beautiful contact. Same with 7-iron. It didn't totally translate to the driver but I was happy with the results. So today, back at the course and it's like I forgot everything. No matter how I tried I couldn't repeat that sweet sound of contact and the shots were not going nearly as far. What gives? And how do I practice this indoors when I get back to the frozen tundra (Alberta)? Help!

    • @MyGolfDNA
      @MyGolfDNA  Місяць тому

      If you get early success with a drill of this nature, it’s important to know that you don’t own the movement on day 1. You have to put in a lot of reps and a lot of very consistent reps at that. Next practice session you have, get focused on creating the most high quality movement you can for 100 reps or so. Then repeat the next day and try to introduce a golf ball back to the mix, but in small increments. If it still stays bad, report back and lll gladly help you further.

    Important question. Do people like Rory who's back swing top is pretty flat skip the right shoulder extention or extend it less?

    • @MyGolfDNA
      @MyGolfDNA  4 місяці тому

      It's hard to argue with his backswing position because of what he produces. However, I would in most cases, try to get it a fraction more upright so that he can get the arms a touch more out in front of him on the way down. He goes bad when he gets a little stuck and starts hitting big overdraws.

  • @Mirage-r6t
    @Mirage-r6t 5 місяців тому

    The right arm or dominant arm only swing works like a gem, in terms of direction and sweet contact. However I feel that I get a little less distance. Any remedy for that? Tks.

    • @MyGolfDNA
      @MyGolfDNA  5 місяців тому

      If your speed came down, then we would need to see how you’re utilizing leverage in the swing…are you preserving lag and are you using the ground to your best ability?

    • @Mirage-r6t
      @Mirage-r6t 5 місяців тому

      @@MyGolfDNA probably not, because it's a new swing concept for me. But I'll get better distance as I persevere. Meanwhile the direction is straight on, I'll take it. Tks for the advice.

    So if these set of movements are new to someone. And you begin to nail the positions at speed, but the ball flight is left or right. are we looking at grip strength to straighten things out or manipulating the club face during these movements? Asking for a friend.

    • @MyGolfDNA
      @MyGolfDNA  6 місяців тому +1

      I’d be looking at the grip and how the wrists are being used in the swing for sure. I’d also be looking in the hitting area to see when the release is starting and is the student creating some sort of high rate of closure in the face which is the most common thing we deal with daily.

  • @19battlehill
    @19battlehill 2 місяці тому

    Don't like this at all. The arms do not start the down swing. MY STEP DOES like when you throw a ball. When throw a ball you STEP and THROW and you don't need that trail elbow that far in front of your hip. STEP and THROW like you are fielding a grounder and throwing to first base or if you ever were a soft ball pitcher.

    • @MyGolfDNA
      @MyGolfDNA  2 місяці тому

      I think you missed the critical part of the video where I said, this is NOT the movement that starts the downswing. This is a drill to teach players to feel isolated movements from the arms vs. the shoulders and this move being taught should happen after you start to shift the weight to the lead side. The shift will create some stretch in the lead shoulder which will help get the arms moving quicker in the downward half. I address that in the very next video to come out after this one.
