@@AlexElliottGolf You are dead on with this. Just tried it at the range and 80%+ of my swings went straight or drew a slight bit. Thanks for the golden nugget.
Another great Lesson Alex. I also appreciated your reference to Moe Norman - a man who rarely received the respect that he deserved while playing because he was considered a bit "odd". Anyone that doesn't know about him should look him up and watch a few videos of him in action and you will see one of (if not the most) consistent ball strikers that ever played the game.
Hi Alex been struggling with Driver been practicing this drill played today & have seen a big improvement so this is my go to now many thanks Pete Keep up the good work
What a simple solution Alex that you have given on how to make the Driver Launch so Easy! I have been working on these two areas of my set up (grip pressure and arm set!) I have been using a light grip pressure (maybe a 4 or 5) and having both of my elbows pointing to my hips. I make sure that my left arm is relatively straight and my right arm is slightly bent. In other words, I am mimicking what you are describing in this video. It definitely keep me in the short grass! Well Done Alex!!!
Hi Alex, great stuff once again. I completely agree on the trail arm position tuck down. However, with the lead arm I think too much “give blood” will increase the chance of bad hooks for some of us. Here I recently found it to be favorable to have the lead elbow point to the target to avoid the bad hooks. Would you say that is a way to go or might the hooking be a different problem not to be fought with changing elbow positions?
Hi marc, i hope you enjoyed the video. if your hooking the first thing i would check is your grip to clubface position make sure the clubface is not closed at address
Alex, what are your thoughts on taking the bottom hand index finger and thumb off the grip to reduce the force of the dominant hand and prevent the shaft steepening in transition?
Would I use the same grip routine for an iron? Title of video infers not…off to course this afternoon to practice this and a few of your other, to the point, drills that I practiced on Sunday in range with amazing results. Feet to armpit width, corkscrew backswing, hands leading, hitting down and compressing the ball - I was straight, consistent and long!! I was beaming all day…now need to try it on grass!!! Thanks for the excellent advice 🏌🏻
Hello Alex. Strange question. Can you make a comparison between a golf club and a Katana? The Katana is gripped like a golf club, with the left hand up and the right hand down. This gives you : - Cutting power, given by the lower hand: as the sword is held by its tip, the radius described by the tip of the blade during a cut is the greatest and therefore the maximum speed. - Precision of cut, given by the upper guiding hand.
@@AlexElliottGolf Thanks for your answer Alex, it's true that when you're not familiar with an 'object' like the Katana, it's very difficult to answer! But in fact the Katana was just one example among many. It's above all the methodology that's important, which can be compared to a golf swing. Left hand for direction and right hand for power
Hey Alex I really struggle for distance on my drive can hit it about 220 yards any suggest to help me , I use a ping g430 lst and my ball speed is 140 mph please help ⛳️🏌🏻
Now just need a video about technique for when it’s time to trim all those shrubs, haha. That’ll take some proper technique as well. Thanks for the video, just recently started turning that elbow in that motion and it’s worked great for me through the bag, except with the driver. For some reason I’m leaving it more open that usual, must not be getting that wrist turned over properly. This visual will help.
Could you share info on launch monitor you use on your on course videos. May I ask your height? I am 5'6" and wonder what realistic club head speed could be. Minnesota. USA.
Alex I've been doing that for 30 years and I still only hit it 200 tops. But I'm an old man. I used to hit about 220 or so. But old age has gotten me. I'm 67 now so no worrys😂😂
Please do a video on how to get irons higher in the air. I hit my irons ok but way too low. Also a video on lobbing the ball around the green I hit way too many forehead line drives when trying to lob
Alex a thought :- rather than hold the club upright for lightest grip, then 45 degrees 'up' for ideal grip; why not rest the club on the deck for lightest grip, then raise it to 45 degrees 'down' for the light grip, maintain that light grip when taking your stance?
Too many people obsessed with trying to control too many things. Play golf, not golf swing on the course. Hit away and then go to the ball and hit it away again. Analyzing your swing on the course will definitely cause PARALYSIS, lol.
*Happy Thursday!! Don’t forget I’m here in the comments to answer all your questions about the video*
Love this alex thanks
Can’t wait to try the level 5 grip pressure. I struggle with consistency and this is likely a big part of it. Will work on this. Thanks Alex!
Love that your using the Wilson Staff Dynapower Carbon. I have the same driver, and love it.
6 minute video --- probably the best instruction short video ive seen on the long game
appreciate it David thank you
I have to acknowledge, without being critical of others, I think some of your methods are some of the best on you tube.
I appreciate that! Thank you so much Chris!! 🙌🏼🙌🏼
This is a great light bulb 💡 moment for me. Heading to the range to give it a go. Thanks as always Alex! Keep sharing the golden tips.
My pleasure! This is cracking Chris!!!
@@AlexElliottGolf Have tried so many things to fix my slice, but the lightbulb came on with the whole grip pressure on the downswing.

Def trying this my next range session! Great tips
Hope you enjoy it!
Thanks Alex, you are so easy to understand and follow.
Happy to hear that!

Hi,
would you like to show which golf equipment you are using in your garden? I haven't seen such construction before.
Thanks
Martin
Would you do that for irons as well??
Can't wait to try this. Weather keeping is is us off the course consistently here in Ohio yet.
Looking forward to getting out soon and applying your techniques!
Great video, always look forward to watching them. I might have missed it, but should\can this be done with irons as well?
Yes it is!
Excellent video 🙌🏼🙌🏼
Thank you 🙌
I will try this at our driving range thank you for another great idea
Yes!!! This is amazing to hear!! Let me know how you get on!!

Alex. Can you recommend an app that we can take to the range and get some stats on our phones?
Oo i don’t know actually i don’t personally use one!
Nice one, will definitely give this a whirl 👍
Hope you enjoy it! Let me know how you get on Richard
Alex, what are your thoughts on taking the bottom hand index finger and thumb off the grip to reduce the force of the dominant hand and prevent the shaft steepening in transition?
I would stay away from that idea personally. Keep them on but maybe bring them closer together

Yeah for sure and great work keep it up
Very true. I woud add one more key element though that helps me every time (when I remember 🥴): rhythm!
Hi Michiel! This is a GREAT point and one that i would definitely go back and add!
That was a little zephyr of a breeze today Alex. Love the Swing thought.
Took this to the course yesterday wow driver every time used 14 times all straight, blown away.
Yes yes yes love to hear that Marty!! Thank you 🤩

HEllo Marc,
I can't realy help here as aim not sure sure what exactly a katana is. But from what i have seen online i would say slightly similar

If you slice should the lead elbow point at target?
I would never have my lead elbow to target if i was slicing or hooking
Hi, covering this tip in another video for you that will help address this!

I spy a Wilson Dynapower Carbon head??? Hence the carbon copy comment at the end of the video 🤷🏻♂️ How do you like the Wilson?
Grip pressure 🤔

Didn't say why too tight grip pressure who make you cast from the top.
Let me clarify! it puts to much pressure through the handle and makes it harder to move your wrists in the golf swing
