when i played payday 2 i used to love the m16, m4 and ak attachment dlc's, it allows you to mod these weapons in a way that you could turn what looks like a cheap civilian ak or ar15 into special black ops spetsnaz or cia looking assault rifles
It has an awesome arsenal but by god was the RNG for equipment was occasionally a bastard. I once went from starting character to level 20 before getting a single bloody suppressor and I only got it because my friend picked up 4 hidden packages of drugs in the level.
Something I always liked about this game where the different ammo types. Sure, you could use shot in a double barrel shotgun but you could also go with slug rounds which is something you really done ever see in games.
We need a part 2 there are so many good guns like the shotgun, snipers, and many of the Australian guns that were not shown here. Also there are interesting weapons like different types of grenades, traps, and even the commander artillery strikes and napalm.
Yes and no, it’s weapon depictions are good and they all have good gunplay as well. The issue is the game itself is quite arcade-y when compared to Squad/arma
@@howdoyouturnthison7827 firing full auto normally isn't something you want to do in squad or arma. You're going to be far more accurate with single fire.
@@themasterninja110 There is situation full auto fire is needed like supressive fire if your machine gunner is down or times that you don't have time to aim like CQC.
@@thor-ericsson FC2 was a deeply flawed game, but the level of verisimilitude it presented was unreal. It wasn't a "realistic" game, but all of the gunfights felt so visceral and dangerous because of how many details were crammed into the game. In many ways it was a VR game ahead of it's time. And that presents the best way I think for the style to return: as a VR experience. Imagine the gun walls of FC2, but in VR where you can physically gear up and prepare for combat. Then the intensity of a gunfight in VR where the trees are being blown apart and splintered by explosions and bullets, where a wild fire rages across the battlefield sweeping up anyone unlucky enough to be in its path.
I would love to see him do Post Scriptum. I think he would especially like the mechanics of that game, since it has that "laying down your rifle" thing and a cool, realistic suppression system
I wanna see Jonathan react to weapon malfunctions and explosions from Farcry 2. While on that topic it would be great if Jonathan can enlighten us with his knowledge of clearing weapon jams.
Now: Team Fortress 2 L4D2 Killing Floor or Killing Floor 2 Far Cry 2 Red Orchestra/Rising Storm 1 Metal Gear Solid 3 Payday 2 ARMA Would love for Johnny to react to these.
I definitely hope that you join us in playing this game man. Made by the same guys who made Red Orchestra 2 and Rising Storm 1 these guys are very good in depicting the realism of combat. Also you’ll get to have more fun with “ALL” the guns in the game - from Mosin Rilfes, Thompson’s, Browning 1919s, MP40s, to RPDs, SKSs and RPGs (and yes they take into realism and the backblast)
Would be really good to see red orchestra's guns, i remember being able to change barrels on MG's and use alternate sights on snipers that you don't usually see in games. Wonder how accurate those actually were.
I would really appreciate a second part to this one that covers some of the more rarer weapons in the game and it would also be very interesting to see him react to more of the realistic game mechanics in the game too like adjusting sights, bipods, different magazines, changing weapons to fire riflw grenades and also the certain variants of some weapons on display (chinese AKs, The L1A1 variants and so on). Great video as always though, needs a part 2.
I love that there is a good suppression mechanic in this game with a nice and accurate selection of firearms for a Vietnam war setting. The M79 shares the characteristic of the M1 Garand where a distinctive sound is produced by the weapons that is very recognizable like their visual profile. The ping for the Garand and the Bloop of the M79. I loved also the MAT-49 French submachine gun added as that is appropriate in the war. And the Vietcong took and used these off of the French. The Vietcong did like the MAT-49 because of provided automatic fire and it was lightweight which very suited their style of guerrilla warfare and for they are always on the move. So that was a charming aspect of it to the VC.
I love how Johnathan is such a gun nerd that he made sure he had the iconic slabside mag in the AK. I've gotten into collecting them and every good AK pic on reddit has a slabby mag inserted. They are extremely hard to find these days and worth up to $200 for context.
I would love to see a review of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain's weaponry. The weapons can be seen in 3rd and 1st person view as well as the model viewer which offer a close look at the highly detailed & realistic models. It would be interesting to see what Jonathan thinks of them as there are a lot of guns that are a combination of existing firearms as well as a selection of more fantastical weapons. Thank You for your work! I get a vast amount of entertainment from these videos.
I keep begging for it every episode so I’m sure he’ll get to it eventually. For a while, speaking of wacky guns, my sniper rifle in game was an old Mosin Nagant M1891 with a thermal optic and computerised range finder. 😋
Yes, the ingame footage shown is all with the chinese type 56. I believe even the real one Jonathan shows us isnt russian but chinese because of the ported barrel!
Just to clarify on how to recognize chinese AK - ported barrel, full circle front sight, different front handguard pin, spike type bayonet. Thanks Brandon for this knowledge! :)
I think the description of flamethrowers as more of a psychological weapon is really true and that is done really well in game, there's nothing scarier than sitting in a bunker and hearing someone nearby with w flamethrower
3:40 in arma 3 if you walk up to a wall or cover of some kind you get a passive reduce in recoil and wobble but if you press a key you can actually deploy your weapon with a bipod etc.

- The BAR is accurately depicted with having two rates of fire for auto you can toggle between.
- Reloading the M14 with under 5 rounds fires actually has you use stripper clips to reload the magagazine instead of doing a mag change.
- Holding R (but not releasing) causes your avatar to check the magazine round count, depicted as a colour graphic rather than an accurate number.
- The seldom seen in games Owen, F1 L2A1 all show up on the Australian faction.
- The ARVN forces are depicted using surplus WW2 US weapons (M1 Garand, BAR, M1918...).
- Depending on the year in the multiplayer campaign, different weapons and configurations become available, IE US Army can't have 30 round STANAG managazines until the last few years.

when i played payday 2 i used to love the m16, m4 and ak attachment dlc's, it allows you to mod these weapons in a way that you could turn what looks like a cheap civilian ak or ar15 into special black ops spetsnaz or cia looking assault rifles
It has an awesome arsenal but by god was the RNG for equipment was occasionally a bastard. I once went from starting character to level 20 before getting a single bloody suppressor and I only got it because my friend picked up 4 hidden packages of drugs in the level.
@@Mr_T_Badger yeah, the system is really not friendly for beginners. But as you progress and start graining infamy it's really nice.
they need to have a pt2 to this
especially because of all the interesting french and aussie weapons in this game
Something I always liked about this game where the different ammo types. Sure, you could use shot in a double barrel shotgun but you could also go with slug rounds which is something you really done ever see in games.
I'd love to see Jonathan react to the Australian weapons in Rising Storm Vietnam!!!
"Good implementation of the M60"
*Proceeds to shred 5 VC's from the back*
We need a part 2 there are so many good guns like the shotgun, snipers, and many of the Australian guns that were not shown here. Also there are interesting weapons like different types of grenades, traps, and even the commander artillery strikes and napalm.
how about reacting to the indiana jones movies? I know that it's not video games, but they do have loads of cool guns
Long story short: This game is INSANELY REALISTIC!
Yes and no, it’s weapon depictions are good and they all have good gunplay as well. The issue is the game itself is quite arcade-y when compared to Squad/arma
@@TJ-bg4fw I don't like squad's recoil mechanic , I don't know how realistic it is because I have never fired full auto rifle.
Yeah, it's like a highly realistic shooter, only actually fun.
The weapon resting/steady thing is a mechanic in ArmA as well, just not many people notice it because it’s not something that’s in your face.
He needs to see the weapons, the jams, and eventually the explosions of Far Cry 2.
Yes, please. That game also had stuff like overheating machine guns and RPG backblast, though simulated to a lesser degree than in RS2.
Far Cry 2 was far ahead of it’s time, yet I feel it’s never been re-done by anyone in newer times..
@@scottbeale1825 i had more visceral gun fights in the shoot ranges on arma... and those only have plastic and paper targets...
@@mitri5389 not sure you understand what "visceral" means, but all right
I would love to see him do Post Scriptum.
I’ve been playing a new ww2 game recently, and I would love for Jonathan to react to its weapons, that supposedly accurate. It’s called Enlisted.
post scriptum has more weapon variety and gunplay/realism. I've tried both too!
Red Orchestra 2 Next? pretty please
Can he do a reaction video on mikeburnfire on zach taking about weapons
payday 2 has a wealth of semi-obscure guns it would be dope to see him cover them and their implementation
If he took a look at ALL the obscure guns of the game, the video would last AT LEAST few hours
'blurs the killfeed to protect usernames...'
also...
'leaves squad names unblurred'
Now:
Team Fortress 2
L4D2
Killing Floor or Killing Floor 2
Far Cry 2
Red Orchestra/Rising Storm 1
Metal Gear Solid 3
Payday 2
ARMA
Would love for Johnny to react to these.
Inserts happy snorting noises if he features tf2
ARMA?
@@aaronbustamante9282 Heavy: WISH GRANTED!
Rising storm vert good yes but Insurgency is a bit better imo
Part 2 please! He needs to react to Australia and south Vietnam.
@11:50 “let us liberate your rice” lmfaoooooo
That's the chat most of the time. Discussions about seizing, securing and protecting rice.
Bakes are better, fite me m8
@@TJ-bg4fw Bakes are sweet for sure. No where near as valuable or cool imo but they are my favorite mag to actually run.
@@TJ-bg4fw no need to fite unless you go for looks.
BRANDON WE ARE YOUR MEN
I would love to see a review of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain's weaponry.
Lol I love how the rs2 community gamer tags have to be blurred
Why?
@@quarol732 So much racism.
Oh god, not "Nick Gurr"
LOVE his terminology for extended lmg fire. "really went to town." just beautiful lol
There is a hint at the unreliability of the M16A1, reflected in the ammo count of 18 round down loaded mags to have more reliable feeding.
Ah, interesting! I sometimes miss the HUD details depending what video format I'm watching.
reliable feeding and reduced magazine spring wear
Jonathan needs to see the MG42 from Red Orchestra 2. It's easily the most accurately depicted MG42 in a game, anywhere.
Where are the Aussies! Give ANZAC some love too!
Well, there is an Aussie getting shot, what with the popping of the "he was only 19" achievement ;P
You should definitely show him Verdun and Tannenberg.
Yes
There are so many accurate guns in this game we need a part 2!
I'd love to see Johnathan react to the guns in barbie ocean discovery
Technically speaking the AK shown was a Chinese Type 56 assault rifle. You can tell because of the hooded front sight
You are correct. If I'm not commenting on details like that it's usually because the game is too interesting :)
Yes, the Type 56, Type 56-I and AKM all feature in Rising Storm 2 though. Each have its own advantages and disadvantages.
@@jonathanferguson1211 Thank you very much for your reply! Isnt the real one with the sign you show us actualy chinese type 56 aswell?
I would love if Jonathan took a look at Payday 2's extensive and sometimes wacky arsenal.
I keep begging for it every episode so I’m sure he’ll get to it eventually. For a while, speaking of wacky guns, my sniper rifle in game was an old Mosin Nagant M1891 with a thermal optic and computerised range finder. 😋
I’m just gonna say it since no one else will, Jonathan is hot
Isn’t the AK from the game a Chinese AK because of the sight that’s not split like the Eastern ones ?
Yes, the ingame footage shown is all with the chinese type 56. I believe even the real one Jonathan shows us isnt russian but chinese because of the ported barrel!
Just to clarify on how to recognize chinese AK - ported barrel, full circle front sight, different front handguard pin, spike type bayonet. Thanks Brandon for this knowledge! :)
@@marduk87 yes indeed thx to him my fellow man of culture
I think the description of flamethrowers as more of a psychological weapon is really true and that is done really well in game, there's nothing scarier than sitting in a bunker and hearing someone nearby with w flamethrower

Could you have him look at Red Orchestra 2?
edit: and/or Day of Infamy?
always love seeing Jonathan's face pop up on my recommended when a new one comes out♥
did not expect rising storm 2 to make it here
The M60 is so much fun in this game, you just spray toward a random spot in some bushes and end up getting a triple headshot kill xD
3:40 in arma 3 if you walk up to a wall or cover of some kind you get a passive reduce in recoil and wobble but if you press a key you can actually deploy your weapon with a bipod etc.

And there are a lot of full alive servers. And a realy cool mods as M113 APC.

with all of this, I'm really hoping we will see Jonathans take on ArmA 2 / 3 (actually why not both) and their weapons perhabs even the new arma 3 creator dlc S.O.G Prairie Fire that takes the otherwise near future game back in time to Vietnam
There's an issue with Arma 3 guns, they have no rounds in the chamber.
It makes me unreasonably angry that Jonathan refers to the grenade launcher sound as a "Bloop" sound, when it is actually a "Flump" sound
