The fact they have enough money to rope you in with bonuses means, they CAN pay you more. Its not corporate greed as it appears on the outside, its control bro. They're all doing it thats how u know.
What a awesome thing Eddie that you are sharing so that other Uber and Lyft drivers are really taking into consideration what the bottom line truly is. Thanks for the mini class in economics.👍❤️
It really is crazy how much they’re ripping us off lately. My hourly net income can vary anywhere between $5 and $100 out here in the Denver market. I’ve had to get so creative just to make ends meet. Uber is less than half of my income now, most of my earnings are private clients paying cash to get to the airport or a show/event, and my UA-cam earnings from vlogging my rides. Uber needs to up our pay soon or we’re all gonna start getting creative 😂
Lyft is by far my favorite to drive for. Everytime i go out its ride after ride after ride i always make money. The rides are fairly short and it keeps me in the area i want. The bonuses are pretty good. I have a great crossover suv great gas mileage.
I've been telling people forever that Lyft is not worth driving UNLESS there are incentives that make it worth the time. And like you, I only get an incentive worth doing once every few months
You are not mentioning the cost of the vehicle (depreciation) you just say maintenance. Most people finance their cars for 5 to 7 years. They ware the car out and have to replace but still owe thousands on the loan!!! Upside down
I always forget that Pennsylvania is basically a Southern state. Crazy that you can live in Philly and make $7.25/hr on minimum wage or pay less in rent and make $15/hr in New Jersey. Heck, even the bordering states of West Virginia and Ohio have higher minimum wage.
7:30 - Isn't the mileage deduction the same as the Tesla rental was? Now imagine if you did double the hours... The Tesla cost no more, but the mileage deduction would be double. If you can charge your Tesla for next to free without using time (both can be done in many situations) - That makes a lot of sense imo.
@@rkan2 I think both Uber and Lyft are offering incentives for the use of an electric vehicle, so you do make a little bit more per mile as well. buying when they’re so expensive I doubt it would be worth it. my current car I bought $30,000 for low mileage, used. I put 8000 down, hundred extra month, had it for two years now and I’m upside down.
@@thagenet Obviously you gotta use them and have home/easy charging. Like Eddie explained, he could be paying for a used 20k$ Model 3 easy with what the rental cost. For surr it doesn't make sense if you are not driving at least 10 hours per day, preferably 20 with the rest spent charging. E.g. what I mean is having two drivers. The biggest problem with Teslas for commercial use is the maintenance, which can be slow.

It’s honestly a great question, and comes down to the fact that people either don’t think about their numbers, or money is so tight that they are willing to sacrifice their car in order to pay the bills. I think that’s what makes me most upset about this whole thing, uber and lyft are taking advantage of people that either don’t know better or are in a tough financial spot.
It’s all the new drivers they have especially new immigrants who have had family help them buy a car to start uber. They will only last so long before the car they acquire breaks down or they realize how they are slaving away when they could work a regular job. It’s going to last a while before they realize it though.
Honestly, the numbers are pretty depressing after the .67/mile deduction, but it's important to be honest with oneself. I wonder how accurate that .67/mile cost is, though. Even though the government sets the mileage rate, you can find ways to economize and " make some" on that .67/ mile allowance. I am so glad that you bring real numbers to your game. At least people can see what they really clear from their labor.
