Though Camelback Mountain may be the most popular hike in the Phoenix/Scottsdale area, the lesser-known Black Mountain in Cave Creek offers the same level of altitude gain in relatively the same distance, making it a great choice for those looking to avoid the crowds at Camelback.
Come along as I take you from trailhead to summit and showcase some of the amazing views from Black Mountain at sunset.

You’ve again opened my eyes to another great local hike! This one looks really nice...and I really like the idea of a sunset hike. Looks like no shade at all, so it will be on my Fall list 😉 Congrats, too, for your 1K + subscribers! It is great that so many people are finding your outstanding work!

Thanks so much James. Really happy to break that 1k mark. And I’m glad you got to check out a new hike. I’m sure you’ll love this one. Much like Camelback’s Echo Canyon, it’s short, but steep.

A really enjoyable video mate. An amazing hike up that trail, although the jagged rocks looked a bit sketchy, I don’t know what rocks they were but you wouldn’t want to fall on them. A stunning view from the top with the sunset and the towns lights twinkling below; like two different worlds out there looking down onto the town. Great drone footage as well, especially with the challenging cross wind. Congratulations again on your 1K subscribers, you deserve way more as the quality of your content is inspirational. Thanks Regan. Your buddy Rog. 👍

Hey, thanks so much Rog! I’m really glad you enjoyed this one. It was really challenging to film as the wind was even blowing the tripod over, but I knew the views at the top would make it worth it. Very fun going down under the light of my headlamp, though you’re right, those jagged rocks were something to really watch out for ;)
Thanks again my friend for the constant support. Very excited to hit that 1k mark! Here’s to many more!
