I've been coming to this area since before it was so touristy. Had the privilege to live here a few years too . I'd go back there in a heart beat, but one can never go back in time. Peace
Couldn't imagine growing up in a place like this, with the mountains and cactus and just beautiful scenery. I grew up in northern Indiana and it was flat, no landscape, corn, and horrible weather. This place is like a dream to me.
Lived right on Cave Creek, used to drive my horses to town, left in 1995, was a great cowboy town then, but I still like the video, brings back a lot of memories, thx.
My father, who grew up in Phoenix, chose to move to Cave Creek a decade or so ago. He had a house with a large backyard. Visiting him was an absolute pleasure. Always had a love for Cave Creek, as well as Carefree. Great video 👌👌
Thank you🌵Dad used to have a business in Arizona. First Tucson, then Phoenix. Our several homes were in Terra Vita ( parents kept selling and buying different ones in Terra Vita). I love the desert and heat. I remember Satisfied Frog, it was so great. Every time we go to cave creek of course we hit the library and the book store there has amazing prices. Now we have a home in Grayhawk in Scottsdale. So we still go up to Cave Creek all the time. Stagecoach village had a bookstore for a little while. And remember The Town Dump⁉️⁉️Mom used to love that place. It’s gone now.
Hello there, That looks like a cool town and a beautiful trail, Love there desert hiking especially in the spring. Very cool views with the drone. love the video thanks for sharing
I lived at 19th and Beardsley in the late nineties. Absolutely loved Arizona. We went to Cave Creek a lot, several concerts. I imagine at this time Cave Creek Rd is heavily developed. I miss Arizona a lot. Really wish I had found a way to stay there!
Thank you so much for this video! I live in East Mesa and I don't get a chance to do as much exploring as I would like. I have to come out to Cave Creek for sure.
I love Cave Creek! We used to drive through Cave Creek on our way to the Barlett Lake! We used to camp out there is awesome!!! Great memories! Hello from Lubbock Texas🙋♂️🙋♂️!!!!
When I was a kid, Carefree didn't even exist! Cave Creek was just an isolated, tiny cowboy town, and North Phoenix didn't reach beyond Squaw Peak and Sunnyslope. The drive to Cave Creek was on a narrow, sometimes dirt, two lane Cave Creek Road through the empty desert (Paradise Valley, the actual valley, not the town, was nothing but desert from Squaw Peak, north to Cave Creek, and the Phoenix Mountains, east to Four Peaks). The main thing I remember was the gas station. I just discovered on Wikipedia just now, that that gas station is on the National Historic Registry. Go figure. I don't feel old or anything.
You never mention The Grotto Cafe !! Its one of the most beautiful places to sit and enjoy a great meal, some awesome music and fantastic views of Black Mountain. Give us some love over there at The Grotto 😊
My late husband & I lived in Cottonwood, AZ for I guess 4 years. I love the Verde Valley; it's just beautiful. Many thanks for the mini-tour of Cave Creek. I'll bet it gets as hot as Phoenix proper, huh?
Lived there about 23 years ago when there were a lot more ranches and horses and horse folks. Like any great place it exploded with incoming city folks and the CA crowd and many of the ranches disappeared. It’s still a beautiful area and IMHO the best place to live in all of Phoenix/Scottsdale.
@@jeffreykoran4820 Flagstaff way too cold in winter! Lots of snow. Sedona beautiful and the drive North past Flagstaff up to Utah. Really worth a drive. Incredible scenery.
I got a new job in Scottsdale next Monday and am moving to Cave Creek this weekend. I've always been a "city boy" in the past (Minneapolis, Las Vegas) living right in the heart of everything, but I wanted something different this time so small-town life it is -- a short walk to restaurants, bars, live music, etc. Just feels right now.
Love the informative videos!! Any snow in the dead of winter? The reason, I was born and raised on a 1700 acre Dairy farm outside Mandan, North Dakota. Now live in Lakewood, Colorado, west side of Denver. If Colorado keeps going south, I may have to go really south!!
I lived in both Carefree and Cave Creek back in the 70's. I worked at Horny Toad as a cook and lived in the Sundial apartments ($177 month rent at the time). My Parents owned the Dancing Bull Restaurant in the Spanish Village.

Love how any one could open carry at the time and always felt safe when stopping to talk to police officers Just Wounder if the campground is still there as the place has change so much Thanks for the video

Great Video.. Played at the Mountain View a couple of weeks ago and will be back in the next few months. It's a beautiful town ... as I drove up Scottsdale Road to get there I felt like I was driving into the Old West
Stage Coach area is awesome. Usually hit up Mountain View Pub. The food and the view is BOMB! Then walk to Janey's. Live music every weekend at both places. Also the marketplace across the street during the day has live music. Really cute area. Just love the feel in Cave Creek. The occasional classic car rolling by is awesome too! 😍
Man how it’s changed since I was there almost forty years ago! I wonder what happened to the “ Cave Creek Corral Saloon”. A good steak and ale while listening to live country music was a favorite past time. All I can remember was a Circle K at one end of Main Street, a Dairy Queen, a few gift shops and country western bars. I got a job back when the Care Free Golf Resort was being built after taking a train and hitch hiking my way back from Mexico and Belize, C.A.

I thought the same thing then moved to the land of lush forests in Oregon. With that came months of fog, clouds, rain, mud and being cooped up inside. Beautiful spring, part of summer then comes the heat, then comes more weeks and months being holed up inside because of the smoke from forest fires taking you right into winter. Not all it’s cracked up to be and the politics are horrible to add to the misery. There is a reason places like Oregon and Washington have higher rates of depression and suicide than other places.
