I've been coming to this area since before it was so touristy. Had the privilege to live here a few years too .

Couldn't imagine growing up in a place like this, with the mountains and cactus and just beautiful scenery. I grew up in northern Indiana and it was flat, no landscape, corn, and horrible weather. This place is like a dream to me.

Thank you🌵Dad used to have a business in Arizona. First Tucson, then Phoenix. Our several homes were in Terra Vita ( parents kept selling and buying different ones in Terra Vita). I love the desert and heat. I remember Satisfied Frog, it was so great. Every time we go to cave creek of course we hit the library and the book store there has amazing prices. Now we have a home in Grayhawk in Scottsdale. So we still go up to Cave Creek all the time. Stagecoach village had a bookstore for a little while. And remember The Town Dump⁉️⁉️Mom used to love that place. It’s gone now.

When I was a kid, Carefree didn't even exist! Cave Creek was just an isolated, tiny cowboy town, and North Phoenix didn't reach beyond Squaw Peak and Sunnyslope. The drive to Cave Creek was on a narrow, sometimes dirt, two lane Cave Creek Road through the empty desert (Paradise Valley, the actual valley, not the town, was nothing but desert from Squaw Peak, north to Cave Creek, and the Phoenix Mountains, east to Four Peaks). The main thing I remember was the gas station. I just discovered on Wikipedia just now, that that gas station is on the National Historic Registry. Go figure. I don't feel old or anything.

Man how it’s changed since I was there almost forty years ago! I wonder what happened to the “ Cave Creek Corral Saloon”. A good steak and ale while listening to live country music was a favorite past time. All I can remember was a Circle K at one end of Main Street, a Dairy Queen, a few gift shops and country western bars. I got a job back when the Care Free Golf Resort was being built after taking a train and hitch hiking my way back from Mexico and Belize, C.A.

I thought the same thing then moved to the land of lush forests in Oregon. With that came months of fog, clouds, rain, mud and being cooped up inside. Beautiful spring, part of summer then comes the heat, then comes more weeks and months being holed up inside because of the smoke from forest fires taking you right into winter. Not all it’s cracked up to be and the politics are horrible to add to the misery. There is a reason places like Oregon and Washington have higher rates of depression and suicide than other places. Now I know why.

The wife just doesn't want to live in the middle of Phoenix and wants mountains. I am afraid Prescott is too small, maybe a bit pricey as well? In your opinion as a local, what area would you suggest we look for a more hilly, close to mountains surrounding that is still close enough for me to commute to a large medical facility where I can still make a good living? Cave Creek looks amazingly beautiful! I'm just looking for a bit of guidance so I can do a bit more research of the areas.

Well done Jeff. We relocated a few years ago and chose Oro Valley, but Cave Creek was our second choice. The unique cycling infrastructure, cooler temps, scenery, and smaller town vibe of OV clinched it for us. My video request for you to consider - would welcome your experienced suggestions on destinations for Arizonans to escape the summer heat. AZ locations, California, Utah, Colorado, New Mexico (?). The need to escape the heat in summer is obviously a need that would be of interest to a wide swath of your audience.

Hahahah cave creek Half the year there are snowbirds here making a tourist attraction out of our town whilst raising housing costs. Cave creek AZ where rich millennial become opioid addicts by 22. And Scottsdale Bros wearing clean jeans, prestine non-scratched boots, with clean lifted trucks which have ever only pulled recreational vehicles, and NEVER a horse or hay trailer, go to feel like they live in the "wild west" and be a pretend cowboy for the night.

Hello Sir! Do you have a video on which food delivery app is most popular I.E. DoorDash or Ubereats? I'm looking to relocate to phoenix and work as a driver for the best one.

Great video. As far as retirement area is there a major medical facility or do you have to rely on Phoenix?
