I use the IR for my racecar and other (mostly lug nuts) applications. Its a beast, hands down the nastiest 1/2" impact I've run.
If you’re going to spend the money go for the new DCF921 or 923 or, One of the smaller counterparts but just as powerful dcf 901 or 903.
I grabbed the Kobalt 1/2 drive impact from lowes earlier this year. I do not use it often but I did need a 1/2 drive impact. I also have their 1/4 drive one but that one will not do lug nuts.
Unless the wheel is in the air, I like to break them loose with a breaker bar anyway
