This is well explained. Thats why I get pissed with kickboxers when I used Adam because their kicks are long reach than his jab, but having no problems with them using Axel.
This sincerely helped us SO much. I've been playing casually with my girlfriend but we both got mutually tired of getting our sh*t wrecked on normal mode. With you guy's help, we started getting our first A ranks! Super excited to go harder, now. Keep it up!
@@beefnacos6258 I've been playing Fight'N Rage on hard and hardest and going to SOR4 on hard was really messing me up by the time I got to The Pier. I kept falling off. Then frustration came again by the time I reached China Town by the quantity of enemies. I had to restart the difficulty at normal and I barely made it to the Y building. The lack of mobility in SOR4 compared to Fight' N Rage roster is what's really slowing my progress. In FNR you can sidestep up and down, have command antiair moves and you can use specials like in SOR3 where you have a full meter that won't drain your health unless the meter isn't full. Same goes for defense since you can parry in FNR. I'm currently in the learning curve of SOR4 since there's less things I could normally do with the controls. Even TMNT SR & River City Girls have a lot more mobile characters.
When i first got this game my SoR 2 mode was fully activated and i had to check myself lol. I left it alone for several months, just came back and understanding that Axel is actually much, MUCH better than i gave him credit for, i was just playing the game like it was 1992 lol. I like the new system, some people hate it... i get it, it's different, but i find it challenging even when i yell at the screen from being cheapshotted lol. With better positioning and timing, i can avoid it. Sure it's harder to be an absolute badass, but that just makes it more fun and there is more complexity here, leaving more room for replay value. I had a SoR Legacy cabinet done up, and its shipping out next month. Time to sharpen my A game.
I went from getting A’s on Normal difficulty to getting S’s on all levels on Hard in one sitting after watching this. Simple as it is this helped make important fundamentals click for me. One thing this video didn’t cover though is how INCREDIBLY important diagonal movement is in Streets of Rage, not just 4 but all of them. Enemies in this series always try to hit you in a way where you can’t retaliate or interrupt them and most punish you if you try to walk up to them with basic horizontal movement (Goro, Dylan, Sugar, etc.) so approaching with diagonal movements is crucial. Several enemies like Big Ben, Signal, and Knife Galsia also use the diagonal approach against you too so you can’t simply hit stun them with a risk-free forward jump kick.
Lately I’ve been getting a lot better at this game, getting S’s on all easy and normal levels and even an S on mania streets. I’m still having a lot of trouble defensively, I got my combos down but I have trouble evading people like ruby and those pesky jabbing galsia’s. I hadn’t thought to put my back to the wall or neutral jump, really hoping this improves my game, great video 👍🏼
Defensive specials are your best friend when they swarm imo. I find that when i get surrounded and slapped around, it was avoidable by a standing defensive move, then resetting my position.
Great tips! I found I wasn't using Axel's charge kick at all really before watching you playing in streams etc. Now I find it so helpful for crowd control, jumping girls and many other situations that were a real pain beforehand. Thanks as always for your vids dude, always happy when I see a new one come out! Hopefully catch you guys on stream soon. Take care.
Before watching this video, I thought to myself, "I'm really good at SOF4 but what the heck I'll watch a tips video anyway". I was wrong. I know nothing compared to this. Thank you! Great vid!
This video completely transformed the way I think about the game and has improved both my progress and enjoyment of this awesome game. The last game in this genre I played was Turtles in Time, back in the SNES, or was it the Genesis? I was rusty and this video was perfect for getting some of that catch up.
Quick comment, neutral jumps are jumps in the stick in the neutral position so that would be the vertical jump, what you are referring to are empty jumps, jumps with no attack on them.
I appreciate the video, it helps out even for a pro ;), and i just want to say i think im ready for another difficulty to be added to the game, it's too easy.
Great tips! I just played the final stage on hard difficulty and had a rough time. Some of these tips woukd have really come in handy. That's for sure! So thanks for the video.
Great tips Bro!!! I'm trying to master Axel I found hes one of the hardest characters to learn. This vid helped a lot! He got buffed but he needs more buffs imo. Liked and subbed! 😎👍
I just started this game, having loved the originals back on mega drive.... I have a long way to go to get anywhere near this... but I'm looking forward to the journey. My goal is the platinum (so all Hard S ranks and completing a level without getting hit being the main blockers)
MAN these are some good tips, thanks! I'm struggling with Mania with a friend, but we can't get more than a C because those backstabbing Donovans who mess up our combo. But the jab can be the door to success.
Currently stuck at stage 12 hardest difficulty , i really wish they put neutral jumping was invincible in the fighting tips . I thought doing jump and attack at the same time would give me an invuln move. Thanks for tips, this should be enough for me to get even further!
I love the video. I was just gonna ask you if you were working on any tips and tricks guides, and here it is! I'll work on these, and see if I can finally get S rank on Y tower and Y island. Topic suggestions for future videos: myth busting and point system.
Love it dude. Funny and useful. Let me know if you need video editing support as It can take a while. Know this myself. Especially with the new DLC coming out for SOTR4. 👍
I uploaded my stage 3 mania perfect with Adam(i only recorded the final 2mins so its not the full stage) the score is crap but its the perfect that i wanted lol
I think the only enemies that I struggle to really get a grip of are the sodding Victoria's. Everyone else, including the bosses, I've learnt their ways (some fro watching you guys), but those bitches still cause me grief!
How do you not get hit by the girls that jump up and to you cause the character moves so slow he cant get out of the way of most incoming attacks unless i get a lucky hit
Man... its hard for me to play cherry again my #1 main is shiva & it always will i love the way he is balanced to play in sor4 but i also loved sor remake shiva if i had it my way remake shiva would be sor2 old skool style and 4 would be grand master shiva. Axel believe it or not i prefer sor1, sor2 skate was my main they need to remake him back to that way some thing about him is off in sof4, cherry is my choice of newcomer one day ill get back with her but i will definitely test out the jump tech i didn't know it was useful to dodge
Baiting...you can use this strategy in other video games. In Arcuz 2, I fought Onim the Minotaur by baiting him into attacking, dodging the attack, and attacking him. I think that at least a few bosses are trying to time their attacks so that they nail me with an attack when I try to attack. Mind-controlled Max could be using the same strategy against the Streets of Rage protagonists.
Thank you... Thank you.. I have too many problems beating the game in hardest level, any help is very welcome. I want to beat the game in mania before my 99 years old birthday 🎂
I can get an S rank on MOST stages no problem... But my max combo is usually something like 34.... Watching you play blows my mind... Also kills my confidence a little bit... I try to implement your tips and no matter what i eventually get hit.... If this game was on a disc itd probably be snapped in half already 😡
I often play as Shiva and I really don't know how I did it, but I swear to god, I did a block animation. Has anyone else done this? (I play on Switch if that helps?)
I doubt that.... Sor 4 does alot of cheats and usually finds a way to do cheap shots. I play on the Nintendo switch and I only got a perfect score like one time also some enemies jump from the wall and do a sneak attack
