I would love to hear your reaction to Disturbed's live performance of this song on Conan. Despite being ill that day David Draiman still delivered a performance for the ages, complete with an orchestra. That performance led to Paul Simon reaching out to the group to congratulate them for performing what he referred to as the greatest cover of any of his songs. He even posted a link to it on his social media. Conan celebrated the performance last year when it became the first video from his show to get 100 million views.

No matter how many times I watch this video (somewhere between 750 and 1000 now) it leaves me breathless and so, so moved. Wow.
When i did this reaction video i was blown away by his rendition I’ve never heard this not until it was suggested to me and I am a fan now!
I knew about Disturbed before this, was a fan already and then THIS happens. I had CHILLS all over and I had to show my Mom (a huge S&G fan). She LOVES this as much as I do, it's so out-of-Left-field for them! It's AMAZING! :)

Another great metal band with a woman singing is Ukrainian band Jinjer, with their video Pisces live session which is almost a rite of passage for reaction channels that get into metal. If you find yourself wondering if it is real, don't put too much stock in the "live session" that was to record their new drummer - nobody expected it to go viral haha. If you want confirmation (you should demand it, imo - I did) any of their concert videos are great follow-up videos with Perennial live at Wacken being most popular as a follow-up.
You should do Nightwish's Ghost Love Score Official Live if you haven't seen it alread - another great female fronted metal song in a totally different style. Cheers!

When David opens his eyes on " vision ", he seems to look straight into your soul. This is a masterpiece. Almost every time I hear it, I shed a tear. Thank you, Mr Draiman, for the music.
I love this song performed by Disturbed. The live version is the version where he was sick. It's live on the Conan show and it leaves this version in the dust. Other songs you might like are Hold on to Memories, The Light, A Reason to Fight, Down With the Sickness, and Through the Fire.

The True meaning...Back in the 60's...was a time of War, Discrimination, Racism, blatant fundamental Civil Rights worthlessness far worse than today. One could NOT speak out without major consequences (like being threatened of your life for speaking out.) Comedians could get away with it in sarcasm, and through music, the "messages" could not be stopped...In that time communication was very bleak with only fuzzy radio, and fuzzy tv...that's it...So when musicians (Bands) became very popular/famous and millions would hear...They became powerful and a serious threat as influential to the masses to change, by demanding equality, freedom, revealing hypocritical religions (neon God they made) etc...The population always knew music's truth...but remained silent out of fear, of retaliation, disfranchisement, so no one dared (other than fans stereotyped as hippies and Blacks that did protest and riot against the establishment for change)...Musicians (bands) were always broken up due to their mass influence, through suspected mysterious ways, from death of a featured performer, to plane crashes, overdoses etc..by breaking them up in ways equal to that of "looking like an accident"...The biggest protest amongst humanity, (in that time mind you) was the technology of people talking without speaking, and hearing without listening (the seeds planted as you slept...but one's eyes were stabbed by the flash of a neon light that split the night...(and your life)... removing the true sounds of silence, considered free will...People were sent to nut farms and destroyed for voicing aloud of so...Although it does fit differently today with texting...The writing on subway walls was like tenement halls in that time, it was very much like bumper stickers, or hallmark sayings...with lots of WISDOM and common sense that came from the poor and oppressed and was their only way to speak out truths in protest...In spite to stop the messages of truth in war through music...it will always survive to carry its messages that remain and echo in the wells of silence...

I'm sorry, but the live performance on Conan was when he was sick. Assume he was healthy when recording the video. The Conan performance was stunning also, and very much worth listening to.
