A few months later and I still catch myself revisiting this video. Such a surreal moment being a part of this awesome experience!!
I'm watching it a year later just to see his reactions. Forgot about yours, it was cool.😚
You deff killed it girl. Im in south jersey outside philly . A drummer with a few good axe players. We can jam anytime. Js.
Your singing slays me ☺ one of the best parts of that video
How gratifying for Ali and the rest of the covers included here. It was particularly touching to watch her reaction in the midst of LJ listening to her.
I confess, as the video began I grumbled to myself, “I suspect he won’t listen to any covers by women.”
Well I’m definitely gonna follow you and subscribe. I’ve got a couple bass covers over on one of my channels that I need to get back into doing and some vocal covers
I've seen Sevendust 30 times and met them most of those times and they never stopped being amazing. The best dudes. My favorite band ever. Lajon is the man.
You say the same in ever song of sevendust brudah! 🤘🏼😂
Do they come out after there shows
@@ryangardocki6247 I haven't seen them in many years, but they used to anyway. I remember in like 99 or '00 at Bogarts in Cincy I walked across the street after the show with Cilnt and LJ and went to this little patio thing where someone was playing acoustic guitar to some patrons. Clint and LJ borrowed the dude's acoustic guitar and did a rendition of Edie Brickell's "What I am". Some of the most humble guys I've known.
The range of ages in the Sevendust audience is a testament to their musical legacy. LJ always humble too.
Jeff Hester took the words right out of my mouth
Very well said! Everyone in the business seems to respect them. These guys absolutely blow up the stage at each show and yet are totally down to earth dudes 30 mins later hangin by the bus. Love these guys
Sooo true!!! Saw them for the twenty something time in February and there were twenty year Olds, teens.. Younger lol
I’m a 16 year old girl who likes chill music more than anything🤷🏽♀️ But what they create is actually pretty appealing to me! Love Sevendust!!
It’s because they’ve been consistent throughout their whole career
Nicest dude in music! Smoked a blunt with him at a show back in '99 as we watched Slayer perform.
BurningBeard22 LJ is such class. Got to give a shout out to Mark Tremonti as well. Pure gentleman in every way
dude no way. you did NOT! 🤤
I envy you so much
fuck dude that is awesome
I saw them once down here in louisiana, they played in vinton out of all places we were lined up out the door of some kind of cowboy bar lol.... and we moshed like crazy in that place
A lot of people have stated this here, but Sevendust are some of the nicest people you will ever meet. I met Lajon at a studio where our band was practicing. Sevendust was rehearsing to do "Angel's Son" on Letterman. Ran into Lajon in the hall and told him what a huge fan I was. I asked if he could come into our studio to say hello to the rest of the band. HE DID and spoke to us in for quite a bit in a manner that was so kind and humble. The fact that he took the time out to hang when he was still rehearsing for a major television show just blew my mind. I have never forgotten that moment. I hope they thrive for the rest of their careers, they deserve it.
Hardest working, most underrated band on the radio today. Love it!
Justin Pate literally one of my most favorite bands right under nothing more
Chevelle?
No offense bro, but you cant be considered underrated if they have been at it for 20 years now
Totally agree
@@stradpeterka8747 Yes you can. They've been working their asses off for 20 years and they're still not getting the credit they deserve
I was very humbled to find out that I was included in this. LJ, thanks so much for your kind words. You have been a true inspiration to me for quite a long while. This just continues to prove how amazing of a dude you are.
Dude your vocals are amazing. Are you in a band?
EFFeCTED18 Thanks dude! I really appreciate it! I’m currently in a local Rock project at the moment and we are working on banging out some songs so we can release an EP or LP here soon.
Nice one dude. Keep me posted keen as to hear it. Love from Sydney, Australia
i love your Ghost Reveries poster. good taste!
Bro you were awesome
Nicest and most down to earth rockers!
Had a great story. In 2003, My girlfriend and I drove to Ft. Myers to see Sevendust and Trust Company. The show was sold out when we got there. In desperation, I walked to the tour bus in the back of Neptune’s(the Venue at the time) Morgan and Lajon opened the door to the bus.
They asked me how come we weren’t in the club? I said the show is sold out. We drove all the way from Miami.
Lajon and Morgan we’re both nice enough to usher us backstage into the crowd to see the show. Will never forget it.
Dudes seem legit and all around good people. I've seen them about 4 times and love these dudes. I would have loved to have seen Trust Company. I heard those dudes on a local college radio station one summer and got instantly hooked.
@@AlexCruz-mv1gj Man Trust Co was amazing...the singer didn't like to perform though so they broke up. Too bad they didn't last I would have loved to see a Sevendust Trust Co show.
What a fucking great guy. I love how he knew who some of the people were via social media. I've seen Sevendust several times and they brought it every single time. Love their music, but I love his humbleness.
That kind of blew me away too. Love imagining him not being able to resist singing along due to his humbleness. Somewhat being uncomfortable still, hearing his own work.
LJ is literally the coolest dude. He knows almost everyone. Can't wait to see them again!
U can tell the dude lives for his art 👌💯👌, encouraging these kids and congratulating them, he's a real human being dude...
Totally! Still weirds me out thinking of him actually being pissed and wanting to kick Jerry Cantrell’s ass that time when they toured.
@@LostCause36 Wow really? I'll have to look that up. It saddens me to think that there's any animosity between two of my all time favorite bands. I hope whatever happened in the past things are cool between Alice and 7Dust now.
Sevendust has one of the best song catelogs in rock. Hands down.
R. Clark metal.
R. Clark someday let's hope it's recognized as such, universally
Lajon is such a likeable person. Loved his music for the past 20 years.
LJ and Sevendust is amazing.
Metal had many cycles, but not many bands are around and kicking from Sevendust's era. Most of the music hasn't aged well, but Sevendust and also LJ's lyrics have both aged like a smooth whisky. What a majestic progression throughout their career!
Wesley Thibodeau Well said!
Best comment I've read. Well said mate.
I mean Korn, Slipknot, Linkin Park(Atleast before Chester died) System of a Down, Chevelle, Sevendust, Limb Bizkit, Drowning Pool and so on are all still active so clearly some of the music must have aged well since majority of these bands have been going on for 20 years or close too it.
@@thetruth4654 ngl, most of the bands you mentioned have aged so bad, especially korn and limp bizkit(and i really like both these bands)
Im in here!
Jolie Marie "I'm wearing a onesie!!" That was super cute, good stuff girl 😂👌
You picked my current fav sevendust song. (it changes every year). Lol
That's awesome!! Keep it up!
You killed that song too!!!! I hope you keep singing, you are a great singer!!!
Lajon is one of the most down to earth musicians out there. Respect.
LJ is obviously inspired by a lot of soul/R&B singers.
blackdragon6 hes a huge country fan believe it or not
Tommy Dolan “bitch” proves it.
Blackdragon6 - sorry for the late comment. I just watched this vid. The whole band is. Those 5 guy's musical backgrounds are so wide, diverse & beautiful. They're musicians in the full sense of the word. True story - I've met LJ & the guys several times but on one occasion a group of us went back to hang with them on their bus & socialize. At 1 point, 1 of the guys realized there was no music playing & said we gotta have some. When he turned on the bus sound system, instantly the bus was filled with an R&B/Motown/Soul mix. A perfect example to never judge a book by it's cover. It was awesome & a great night.
What a genuinely nice dude. Rare nowadays.
LJ is awesome and has the best memory. My boyfriend and I did the meet and greet this year and LJ remembered my boyfriend from the last time he went to their show back in 2002. My boyfriend gave them a t-shirt with Layne and Lynne on it that said Angels sons on it. It totally blew us away that he recognized him after all that time. The whole band is a great bunch of guys
That’s one thing that really makes Sevendust stand out, how humble they are. Half of the videos they showed him, he had already seen, and followed the people and had more info to say about them. “...they’re married now congrats” etc. How many artists/bands can you say would’ve had that reaction? Not many I’ll tell you that much. LJ is the man
Dude it's awesome how LJ doesn't act pompous or inflated he so down to earth and he actually appreciates the people's efforts that they put in on the videos and that's an awesome quality that he has you can tell he's real down to earth person not self-absorbed and a non douchebag
I met Lejon and the rest of the band at a concert in my town back in 2002. Hella nice guy, shorter than I expected somehow. He gave me a hug. I actually somehow caught a drumstick at the end of the show, and I got the whole band to sign it, plus each member took a pic with me and my buds. Great guys, great band. great live show.
LJ might rival Dave Grohl as being the coolest person in rock.
Derek White that was Dimebag, Dave credits learning to be nice from Pantera
Tommy Dolan No dude Dave was always nice. He ties with Dime, Lajon, & Vinnie Paul.
Never met Dave, but LJ was the nicest coolest guy when I met him
Yeah, just the fact that he's not military intel as Dave most likely is.
LJ is waaay cooler than Dave!!!
Sevendust is one of my most favorite accessible metal bands.
Honestly such a humble, talented and spiritual being. Privileged to have been blessed with his voice in our world. 🤟🏽
What I love most about it is you recognize your fans and appreciate their spin. We met at the hard Rock Cafe in Florida on new year's Eve at a god smack and grumpy concert. I talked with Morgan for mabe 10 minutes on the steps out front. Every time I saw sevendust they were the best set and 20 years later I'm still disturbing my neighbors with their works of art!
Smiled through the whole thing. LJ is the coolest dude in music. Some very talented covers too! Next up, the new song, "Risen"!
How can someone that is so famous and talented be so humble, nice and just plain awesome? I’ve been a huge fan since 99. I love Sevendust so much. Their music has got me through some difficult times. They still kick so much ass to this day. Thank you (pun intended 😜) Lajon and crew. 😎❤️🙏🏼🤘🏼🇺🇸
A big salute to LJ for complimenting these young people for their efforts
LJ is always such a class act! He really seems like he not only loves what he does, but he’s honored that so many people like his band as well. Sevendust is still kicking ass!
How have I only just seen this? I always thought Lajon was a really nice guy and not just an excellent vocalist and this only confirms that. You can always spot the good ones when they take time to show the fans some love.
I used to buy 7Dust stickers straight from the candy dispenser machine during the 90's...
Can confirm LJ being a super down to earth, approachable, humble and nice dude. Met him way back in 98 at Ozzfest, along with Clint and Morgan. All the Sevendust guys are super nice.
Sevendust was one of my first introductions to metal all the way back in 99! Almost 20 years later, I still love this totally underrated band, including Lajon.
Man, what an amazing dude. He dont just respect what they´re doing. He already know and follow them. He really pays attention on his fanbase. Probs!
I've been lovin the new record glad these guys are still around making good music
This is awesome! LJ was cool about EVERY cover and showed support for everybody. Just a class act. And everybody's covers of the tunes were just fantastic!
I have the biggest man crush on this guy....
Who doesn't is the real question.
Not a fan but as human this guy is amazing! I've never seen a rock star that actually remembered his fans and even details of where they're from! Great guy!
Lajon your the reason why so many of us became singers and musicians, mad love to lajon and the boys in sevendust always
So humble. Most singers would hate on people who didn’t absolutely impress them but he found something positive to say about everyone’s cover. This is a true rock star.
Lajon is sooo humble after all these years!
This guy is such a nice niiiiice person. I have been watching these videos often and the Lajon just shows so much respect even for the regular folk. He follows some of these people on social media recognizes them and just gives them credit. so nice :)
I just realized there was one video that got overlooked by a gentlemen named Ean Hurst, he did an incredible "Angel's Son" cover many years ago, like back in the myspace days, but his voice was really unique. Wish LJ could've seen that, I think he would've enjoyed it.
Dude you know he's gotta be lowkey browsing these comments for more good shit
That was pretty cool that u remembered ol girl, u seem like a real down to earth dude, much respect and love ur music
That's awesome LJ! Very cool of you as well!
Top 10 vocalist of all time..and sevendust is still amazing
I saw 7D with Creed and 3 doors down in Indy and wore a long sleeve black shirt with white tribals on the front back and sleeve. He was wearing a white wife beater with black tribal on the front and we were standing down on the fence next to the ego ramp. Long story short, LJ saw my shirt and pointed at me and then his shirt. Then, Vince came over and threw a pick at my face during Denial. I still have the pick. Couple years later, my band and I saw them in Cinci with Drowning Pool and got to meet them behind the venue. Coolest dudes I've met in a long time. I had them sign my pants since my shirt (same one from the first time) was black, so they all signed the leg. Clint signed it "Jean Claude VanDamme" since I had to do a karate kick to get my leg up to where he could sign it. One of my favorite memories was meeting them. Awesome band, still one of my favorites.
The one thing about Witherspoon that most artists don't have is the respect he shows to all of his fans!
Truth is... Can't nobody sing like LJ. Such a unique person and vocalist! Much ♥️ for LJ 💪
LJ is so amazing, met him a few years ago. He is so kind and sincere! Can't wait for the new album!
I love how many of these people he knows personally and can tell you details about their lives. He is line of my favorite singers ever.
Wow!!! The fact that he remembers the people that listen to his music... impressive!!! Great guy
Seriously, LJ is one of the coolest guys in Music. He has always treated me like a part of Sevendust when I have met him. I miss this dude. There need to be more people like him in my nation.
Lajon is the perfect frontman, so genuine
Lajon is a true master of his craft and always puts on a great show! Great voice...
Just catching this for the first time and I just keep thinking how positive and nice he is with his feedback. I met Lajon once in a club on Bourbon St that my band was playing in and he was there hanging out and he was every bit as a good guy in person as he appears to be on here. You're awesome, LJ. Hope to bump into you again sometime.
Sevendust. The most honorable, humble, and personable band in the history and future of music industry.
Love Lajon. Dude is so real, such an underrated band
Most generous one of these I’ve seen much respect man
This was so awesome to watch. LJ and the whole band are some of the most down to Earth guys you could ever meet.
Lj you are the man! Thanks so much for doing this for all us Sevendust fans
This echoes every time i've met Sevendust. Keep being who you are guys!
Thats awesome that you connect the artists like this
LJ is straight class! I’ve seen them 3 times live. Twice at small venues. Straight up down to earth dude who loves his fans. Fukn love these guys!
This right here is why Sevendust is one of my favorite bands on the planet, Such genuinely awesome guys. Great video!
Met him waiting in line for beer at Davis Park in Rockford IL....super humble and down to Earth.
One of my favorite bands, seen you live one of the best shows ive seen
Such a great band and a humble and caring frontman. I am a fan for life.
This is a great idea! Keep doing these with everyone in Metal
I love his voice. And I love that all you guys covered his songs. Thats effin awesome
Love you guys!!!
This guy rocks. I only found this band recently. Long live SEVENDUST!!!!!
I love this man and how supportive and loving of his fans he is
Love this band. Great bunch of guys. Down to earth and amazing musicians.
This is so damn cool! Always been a Sevendust fan. Keep doing more of these vids.
Absolutely killer! Love sevendust and LJ is such a good guy, humble and appreciative of his fans.
This video just increases my respect for this band. I work in a gas station, and I've had a few talks with the cheerwine rep about music. Turns out his teen son made friends with the drummer, and gets to chill back stage when he goes to shows. Ya'll are so humble and show so much respect for your fans. Much love and respect!
Such a cool guy! Amazing how down to earth he is being how big the band is. He stayed humble and that is awesome!
People like him are what make the metal community great. I find most metal heads are the nicest people around. I’m glad to be part of that when I go to shows. Much love everyone.
This dude is so humble it's unbelievable. Love this guy! Awesome video
He’s so far up my list of musicians I’d love to meet. Such a cool guy. Keep rocking Sevendust!
He seems like an amazing dude!
Lajon, you're the man! Thanks for this. Fun to see you love what the people do in respect to your excellent vocals.
I just love this dude..such positive and genuine soul
Probably the coolest, nicest, most humble lead singer I've seen! This is awesome!
There has never been a sevendust show that didn't blow my mind. They are such an amazing band, so loving and genuine. Their music save dmy life and I listen every single day❤️
Such an amazing person, great video.
Love, love, love your music! Always lifts up my spirit. A pleasure to listen to anywhere. Keep up the great work. Thank you, LJ 🙂
Sevebdust deserves to be where they are. Very good cover i enjoyed them all thank you.
Thank you LJ. You are the reason why I want to be a musician. You taught me that passion goes a long way and I really appreciate what you do frfr!
They’re so great live! Such a humble dude ^_^
You guys rock man always love what you guys have produced sevendust is a great great band

He’s got a great voice. Cute too
LJ seems like such a cool guy. Proud they rep Atlanta, since I too am from GA.
What a kind man. LJ, you’re awesome.
