The entire band is drastically under rated. If you ever get the chance to see them live, do it. Yes, their videos and albums are fantastic, but they will never do them justice. The energy they have and Lajon's presence and his raw vocals are just unmatched. I've seen hundreds of amazing bands live and I've never seen anything that compares to Sevendust.

We couldn't hear what was going on or what was said, but no doubt it was epithets hurled at Lajon and the rest of the band because of his skin color. We did hear the cheering of the crowd nearby as security and police escorted the group out, and then Sevendust continued playing. It was awesome.
Been a fan since the debut album. Been lucky enough to see them over 30 times in 4 states. They go as far back as when gobsmack was just getting recognized and they open for sevendust.
I saw them live around 2001-2002 (cant remember exactly at the moment) and they were great. I consider them at the top of their game at that time...Lajon's voice still hadnt been damaged from decades of touring, Morgan was in full showmanship mode and the other guys were comfortable in what they were doing. It's easy to tell the bands who are pros and actually rehearse their shows over and over...they can seemlessly come out like a well oiled machine and put on a great show, and that includes techs and roadies doing their jobs. Sevedust were firmly in the pro category back then, I'm sure they're even more of a well oiled entertainment machine these days. Worth the ticket assuming Lajon can still sing songs like this, Waffle, Angels son etc
I was supposed to see them with Alter Bridge and Shinedown in 2019 but due to illness they were replaced with a band called The Raven Age, I was immensely disappointed.
The screams are done by the drummer Morgan Rose. Also, the guitarist Clint Lowery adds backing vocals. The one deep vocal ("Watch the hate you feed") is done by their bass player Vince "the boss" Hornsby.

@@_AVF Yeah it's kind of crazy now how many outstanding albums they've put out over the years. I started out with their first album of course and absolutely loved Animosity. We'd hang out and jam that cd all night at parties and such. Good times lol but yeah all their albums have several bangers. It's crazy how long they've been a band and haven't fizzled out.
Love Sevendust! And Lajon is an absolutely wonderful human being. My wife and I bumped into him while out and about on our honeymoon. Didn't even know they were in town. He and the Sound Manager shared drinks with us, got us into the show, and even gave us a shout out on stage. Made for an amazing night and great memory.

@@ericgarboushian5658 Yeah I commented the same above. Skunk Anansie is one of my favorite bands, and would love to see Charismatic Voice react to Squander - or the time Skin sang a duet with Luciano Pavarotti
Yasssss! PLEASE bring him on for an interview! He is so genuine and a great person with an amazing voice! I've been listening to Sevendust since the late 90's and they never dissapoint, ever!
Please do Angel's Son by Sevendust. Such an amazing song, and I think you'd really appreciate it. Such raw emotion. Still gets me every time I hear it, over 20 years later.
Lajon Witherspoon is a vocal powerhouse. Fluid and melodious one moment, raw, dirty, potent, and aggressive the next. I never get tired of his voice. Sevendust has such a distinctive style, it's probably why I own so many of their albums. I was hooked the moment I heard "Black" and "My Ruin" on a sample album that came with another album. Pretty much the same way I discovered Disturbed as well.
"Angel's Son" by SevenDust is a great song and it allows LaJon to pull back the "harshness' in his voice and really sing a sort of rock ballad...not sure if there is an acoustic version, but I'm sure that wouldn't disappoint at all.
My favorite band of all time in the history of all times!!! Lajon is THE DAMN MAN and has been for a very long time. Next time I see them will be my 14th time seeing Sevendust and it will never be enough. Through all the highs and lows in life Sevendust has remained with me. SEVENDUST HAS ARRIVED!!!
Same here, such a great band, so many great directions in the past like 3 decades... But, this song just hits me hard every damn time. Definitely one that she should check out next!!!
Thank you for giving Sevendust some attention! They are an amazing band. All of the members are also involved in side projects and most of them sing. So much talent in that band.
“Live Again” is just magic. Their catalogue is filled with so many amazing songs but Live Again still affects me each time just like the first time I heard it. You will not be disappointed.
Yeah, I'm casting my vote in for "Live Again" as well. It was my first experience with Sevendust 20 years ago and remains to this day my absolute favorite song of theirs. "Failure" and "Angel's Son" are right behind it, though.
The scream comes from the drummer.normally there are three voices in Sevendust all the time. The singer, the guitarist and the drummer.Just to inform you.
Absolutely the MOST underrated band in all of hard rock/metal. They have been around since the 90's and have put out some of the absolute best albums of all time. It should be noted that mst of the "screams" is the drummer.
I would neither call them underrated or most underrated. Like many other metal bands from the 90's, they're "just" established veterans, without really having that many hits or making it really big. Mudvayne, Staind, Machine Head, Godsmack, Disturbed ...all great 90's bands, but just not great enough. They're just muddling through without doing anything bad or awesome. I respect your opinion tho of course :).
Lajon and Sevendust are the most badass, humble guys you’ll ever meet! He sang Angel’s Son to my friend just after her husband died, I will forever cherish that I was there to see the best condolence he could give to her, not a dry eye in the venue!!!!😭😭😭 Best way to see them is in an intimate setting, you’re ears will bleed!
@@jaredbrown6066 I started listening to them in the early 2010's. When I found out how long they've been around, I got pissed saying "why didn't I hear these guys sooner?"
The entire band is criminally underrated for their vocals and musicianship! All 5 of them sing on this song! You have to do a deep dive on all of them!
@@SophiaAphroditeWell in comparison to Korn, Slipknot, Deftones, and Linkin Park. 7D is very underrated, which is very unfortunate because objectively 7D has some of the most talented members compared to other nu metal bands.
Was going to suggest this also, the "Sevendust "Black" At Guitar Center" version showcases his voice so well, definitely a quality there that she can dig into, also a great song to cover during black history month.
The first time I heard them was live many years ago and they opened with Black. The vibe when that reverberating guitar started playing and the draw they had on the crowd was incredible. One of my favorite all time concert moments.
Lajon is a beast. “Waffle” is still my fave Sevendust song to this day. You should check out “Angels Son” also 😢 (I prefer the acoustic version featuring Snot, but the album version is great too. The acoustic just hits the feels more)
"It just seems like they have so much energy." Oh, you MUST see them live. I was never a huge fan of theirs (didn't dislike them, but I had more than my fair share of favorite bands). Then, I saw them live at a festival. Blew. Me. Away. So much energy. And such good energy. One of my favorite live performers.
The backing vocals is Morgan, the drummer. And the other band mates contribute as well. I saw Sevendust back in the day. During their first album tours. I bought their first on audio cassette, it opened like a pack of cigarettes. Lol. Some great pits! High energy for sure.
I’m friends with the band being from Atlanta. Some of the nicest guys you’d ever want to meet. Their live shows are unmatched in energy and quality. LJ has one of the best voices in the metal genre. Soulful with tremendous power and flexibility. The Drummer, Morgan Rose, is one of the best behind the kit. Just watching him play is worth the price of admission. Check out their song Angels Son. Incredible
I discovered your page 2 days ago and I cannot stop watching! I love how you explain all the techniques heard and use appropriate terminology for vocal inflections. You make so much sense to someone who has been singing for over 20 years on stage, without any formal training until 2 years ago. Keep on!
Home is the most staccato album ever recorded. There isn't an open-ringing chord in the entire album! You'd expect the chorus to have open sustaining chords - but nope!
Hi Elizabeth, this is my first time listening to this band/song, and I enjoyed the performance. Lajon's vocals are incredible and the band was fantastic. Thank you, Elizabeth!!! 💙
Watching you discover and react to bands and music I’ve been listening to my whole life is absolutely one of my favorite things ever! It’s like I get to rediscover it through fresh eyes.
Huge Sevendust fan here! A lot of the growling, screaming vocals are done by the drummer, Morgan Rose! Guitarists Clint Lowery and John Connor also do a lot of backing, trading and harmony vocals. Especially Clint with Lajon on harmonies - their voices blend REALLY well together! The depth and soul Lajon delivers though is what really sets them apart! Morgan is a beast on drums! 7D are one of the best metal bands you could ever see live! They are road warriors constantly touring! Going to see them for the 6th time next month!
"They seem like they have so much energy" -- 100%. One of the best live bands around, they've been doing it for so long and always bring it live. All 5 members contribute vocally. As others have mentioned the background screams with the ethereal quality are the drummer Morgan, that's been a staple of their sound from the start. Lajon is absolutely one of the most unique voices in metal, and Sevendust as a band is one of the most unique out there. They came up through the oft-criticized "nu-metal" scene but always stood out among their peers. They didn't reach the level of fame as some of the other bands from that era/genre, but they've been consistent through the years and always put out great music in combination with amazing live performances. I'm so happy you finally got to check them out, they're one of my favourite bands! They're about to do an anniversary tour of their album "Animosity", and you should definitely check some stuff out from that album. You might be able to find some live acoustic videos from their "South Side Double Wide" Acoustic album, which vocally mostly highlight Lajon and Clint. If you ever get a chance to see this band live, do not hesitate, you will not be disappointed. Have lost count of the miles we've driven to see them play. Final bonus, they're 5 of the nicest guys you will ever meet. Especially Vinnie!
You see them live and you are pulled in. They really don’t call their shows concerts in some places, they call them family reunions. They put 110% energy into each performance and if you ever meet them they are the nicest and sweetest people you’ll meet in the business. Angels son or The Wait you will shed a tear
🤯 Omg yes you finally did Sevendust and what a perfect song for first time! This band is in my top 5 favs of all time. I listen to them in the gym all the time. Thank you for reviewing them. I hope you do more of their songs. You Rock and keep up the great work. 😎👍
This made me so so happy. Sevendust was one of the first rock bands I got into as youngin' , seeing a big buff black dude front a metal band gave me all the validation I needed in my little heart. Seen them twice too! This song is one of my favorites
So glad to be here with you. Sevendust has been a favorite of mine since the Animosity album, especially the single “Live Again”. Such marvelous talent, and despite the lack of general recognition, still grinding away to this day. The loyal fan base keeps building it seems, and for good reason. Lajon’s vocals hit like metallic butter, but in the best way. And for a bit of crossover flavor, for private listening if nothing else, they released a cover of “The Day I Tried to Live”, originally by Soundgarden, as tribute to Chris Cornell upon his passing. Thanks as always Ms.Z. See you again soon!
Lajon is something out of this world. You should check a collab he did with another underrated band named Earthside, the song "Mob mentality". The song is backed by the MSSO (yes, the Moscow Studio Symphonic Orchestra, so, you can relate perfectly how good this can be) and the video is a total piece of art. You should check it. You will not regret it.
Love your videos for the breakdown and thoughts on songs, bands and genres. Also captivating watching your expressions as your hearing the song, a language in itself. I'm watching a person who knows how to fully experience a song and likewise fully express their thoughts. Keep up the great work!!
Ok, I gotta admit. I’ve been waiting for you to review Killswitch Engage with Howard Johnson on vocals, but this is even better. I’m embarrassed to say that I always forget about Sevendust’s awesomeness. It is so cool and refreshing to see people of color like Lajon and Howard absolutely crushing it in the metal genre.
Howard is/was the shit. Jesse recently had something come out where he talked about Howard's lyrics and singing ability and that he was wrecking his voice trying to replicate it and had to hire a coach. It was great to read.
The clarity of your thoughts, and the ability to express them…..So beautiful! I don’t watch all you put on UA-cam, cuz I like to have a tangible link to the subject matter. I’ve never heard this song, but really respect the band. Still, perhaps I should watch everything you do regardless, cuz you are a master of communication! I absolutely love seeing you digest something, then with so many facets, recall and give unreal synopsis without falling around your vocabulary! You are incredible! Thank you!
One of my all-time favorite bands I own everything they have put out. I believe they are very underrated. They put so much heart and soul into their music. I like Lajon's solo stuff too alot.
Love love love Sevendust! The song unraveling is one of my favorite songs. Their severally underrated. So many other songs are amazing. Can never go wrong with this band.
I'd love to see you do a future video breaking down the vocals of Chino Moreno from the Deftones. 'Be Quiet and Drive (Far Away) ' or the track, 'Change (In the House of Flies)'. Loving these breakdowns keep up the great work! 🔥🔥🔥
I grew up on this band. Both my parents have always jammed Sevendust and I still do to this day. I’ve seen them countless times live and they’re even more incredible. Super nice guys. I met Lajon a couple time before a show and, even being a band of their stature, he remembered me and sat down outside to just talk. Super cool. ALSO this video was awesome! You definitely need to react to more of them. If you want a chill, beautiful song “Angels Son” is the way. “Decay” is super heavy but still offers tons of variety. They collaborated with Chris Daughtry on a song and it’s amazing. Their whole discography is 10/10. And it’s their drummer doing the distorted screams. Everyone in this band sings, their guitarist & bassist do tons of harmonies. They’re great. Ps - “Skeleton Song” will blow you away 🎶
I've been anxiously awaiting your first reaction to Sevendust. There are better songs (IMO) you could've started with, but it is simply the first hurdle. The true 7D experience lies in their live performance; they're known to be one of the best.
You absolutely have to do "Licking Cream" by Sevendust. Has Debra Dyer (aka. "Skin") doing guest vocals. Lajon said it was hard to work with her because of constant goosebumps and just wanting to listen to her (paraphrased, but that's the gist, I can't recall the exact quotes).
I saw Sevendust live with my parents years ago and my dad actually spotted that the background vocals are coming from the drummer sometimes while he's wailing away! It's amazing to see 😁🎶
Please, for your next Sevendust video, do "Licking Cream." The song is a duet with another artist; a woman named Skin from the band Skunk Anansie. Their vocals intertwine and soar in that song. You'll appreciate it. Great reaction!
Just saw them for second time live just 2 weeks ago. Still amazing band live, such great energy and great fans (even on a Tuesday night). Love your analysis and descriptions of the music. You don't just 'react', you break it down very thoughtfully.
I haven't heard them in years. This is my first time hearing this song. It's pretty cool. The first song I ever heard from them was Live Again I need to check out more.
I first was in awe of Lajon's voice when he sang "Bitch" in Woodstock '99. And he hasn't done anything but get better. Also on a side note, I'm amazed that you haven't gotten around to analyzing Zakk Wylde. "Dead as Yesterday" is a good one!
I am introduced to your videos from watching this song and you by far have the best reaction I have ever seen to this song! Plus you are adorable too! Your expressions and love for music shows. Can't wait to sub and watch more!
Ya gotta love the backup vocal mix of Morgan Rose, Clint Lowery, and John Connelly. (specifically Morgan & Clint) Clint does the deeper backup, and Morgan does the stuff you first reacted to. Each member's technical abilities are unparalleled.
As they are about to embark on their 21st anniversary tour of their album Animosity, I highly recommend checking out the album. I've seen them live at least 30 times. Adding 3 shows of this tour! Dirty is one of the many great tracks off All I See Is War- even better live!
Hey the voice in the background is the DRUMMER and songwriter Morgan Rose his vocal is called "crow". Been listening to them since 97. Check out their song Chop it's my favorite one to sing.
Have you reacted to King's X yet? Dug Pinnick's voice is incredible! Some songs to check out by them are: Chariot Song Over My Head Summerland We Were Born to be Loved I forgot to mention that they are a three piece band that harmonizes incredibly well. All three sing! They are fantastic!
Love, love, love Sevendust! One of the best live performances you can see. Seasons is a good album to hear his voice, its more melody than heavy but I'd have to say his voice in the song Shadows in Red from their album Next hits me in all the right places.
May I respectfully request “Earthside” “Mob Mentality” featuring Lajon! It has orchestra too! Right up your alley! He sings so differently than he does with Sevendust in this track. I figure you’d like this in your free time!
This is something to come back to. For me cause it's my first time hearing this particular song! For you because I know(you just said Peter Steele🥰🥰🥰🥰RIP Peter ❤️❤️❤️) you likely haven't done other songs of theirs... Great transitions do Denial. Just an all out jam, do Black. Lajon's voice does amazing things all the time. You are great! I'm off to find you react to Peter and Type O Negative!!!!! Peace and 😘
This band is amazing! I've often wondered WHY is this band so underrated? I know my answer might upset some people, but please take the time to read my reasoning before you flame me in the comments. I truly believe that Sevendust is so underrated because they have an African American singer. Our country is very racially divided still to this day, especially in the south, where Sevendust is from. I firmly believe that having a black singer played a big role in hindering the bands success. I mean, their first single is called "Black" and speaks on racial profiling, as if they're saying "yes, we have a black singer and we're going to speak on those issues, too." Coming out in the mid 90's, when metal was in a state of flux, and speaking on those issues, Sevendust we're pushing boundaries that A lot of people weren't ready to hear.(and still aren't to this day). You can't say they aren't talented. They are. You can't say they suck live. On the contrary, they're one of the best live bands I've ever seen. You can't say they are a bunch of stuck up assholes, they are one of the most gracious and fan friendly bands in metal. I think that it's a racial issue at it's heart. Which truly saddens me, because I've met Lajon, and he is the absolute coolest and kindest man you would ever want to meet. If you disagree with my reasoning, please don't flame me, I would love to hear your side. Great reaction, Elizabeth! I look forward to more Sevendust reactions. I would recommend Black from their debut album. It's one of my favs from them. 🌹
I don't think you're entirely wrong on your viewpoint but I think a major part of their lack of popularity has to do with marketing I've been a fan since "home" and growing up I had never seen a 7D video on MTV I wouldn't even know when a new album came out unless I seen it in Hastings or Oncue (yes I'm that old) they really weren't given the time of day by anybody including their label. Which is a tragedy since they are musically a great metal band.
@@MFMasterBates Howard Jones wasn't even the original vocalist in Killswitch, and he's no longer the vocalist. I actually prefer Killswitch with Howard more than Jesse, but they basically had one successful album with Howard. Killswitch Engage are not even as successful as 7D. When I speak of Sevendust as underrated, I think they should have come out and become as successful as Slipknot did. Or as Linkin Park did . I don't think sevendust has a single platinum album. LP's first album is diamond. Sevendust and Killswitch Engage have had success, but not on the level they probably deserve. Would Killswitch have been more popular without Howard? Have they become more successful since he left?

@@ericgarboushian5658 Yeah I commented the same above. Skunk Anansie is one of my favorite bands, and would love to see Charismatic Voice react to Squander - or the time Skin sang a duet with Luciano Pavarotti
Most underrated band OF ALL TIME. Nobody is better live. Their peers echo that sentiment.
I think Lajon might be great to have on an interview episode.
He is a super genuinely nice dude
I'd love Lajon, Clint and Morgan as they all put vocals down
Yasssss! PLEASE bring him on for an interview! He is so genuine and a great person with an amazing voice! I've been listening to Sevendust since the late 90's and they never dissapoint, ever!
The day has come you finally covered my favorite metal vocalist thank you very much!
Please do Angel's Son by Sevendust. Such an amazing song, and I think you'd really appreciate it. Such raw emotion. Still gets me every time I hear it, over 20 years later.
This^^^
a real heartfelt banger
The Strait up version (the better one)
Southside Double Wide Acoustic Live version. If u listen his Live Show vocals, u will love him more.
@@legroumellecyannick3443 100%
This is such a good song. Is the one for Lynn strait right?
Yes. Angel’s Son is amazing!
There is! Look up "Sevendust "Angel's Son" At Guitar Center", it's so good
Came here to recommend Angel's Son.
One of my favorite songs.
The raw emotion Lajon brings to every track is unmatched. To this day every time I hear Angels Son I have to stop myself from breaking and crying.
Same here, such a great band, so many great directions in the past like 3 decades... But, this song just hits me hard every damn time. Definitely one that she should check out next!!!
That song…
Angel's son is definitely a gut punch for sure. Cant believe its already 20 years old!
1000000 percent agreed!!!!
The scream comes from the drummer.normally there are three voices in Sevendust all the time. The singer, the guitarist and the drummer.Just to inform you.
Yeah I pointed out that Lajon does most of the standard "clean" singing and front vocals, Morgan does the screams and so does Clint
Don’t forget the crowd at live shows! 🤘🏻
Real talk though it's everyone. You don't hear Vinny as much but seeing them live you know where he fits it
Absolutely the MOST underrated band in all of hard rock/metal. They have been around since the 90's and have put out some of the absolute best albums of all time. It should be noted that mst of the "screams" is the drummer.
I disagree. Monster Magnet is the most underrated. Nobody talks about them. Dave Wyndorf is a genius with his lyrics.
No, the most underrated is King's X.
Sevendust are superstars and are lauded everywhere.
Lajon and Sevendust are the most badass, humble guys you’ll ever meet! He sang Angel’s Son to my friend just after her husband died, I will forever cherish that I was there to see the best condolence he could give to her, not a dry eye in the venue!!!!😭😭😭
Best way to see them is in an intimate setting, you’re ears will bleed!
Love Sevendust. One of the most underrated metal bands of all time.
26 years of radio play and 18 studio records....................under rated....................LOL
@@SophiaAphrodite yet there's still a shit ton of people who don't know them
@@jaredbrown6066 I started listening to them in the early 2010's. When I found out how long they've been around, I got pissed saying "why didn't I hear these guys sooner?"
The entire band is criminally underrated for their vocals and musicianship! All 5 of them sing on this song! You have to do a deep dive on all of them!
26 years of radio play and 18 studio records....................under rated....................LOL
@@SophiaAphroditeWell in comparison to Korn, Slipknot, Deftones, and Linkin Park. 7D is very underrated, which is very unfortunate because objectively 7D has some of the most talented members compared to other nu metal bands.
Their song "black" has unplugged and acoustic versions! I highly recommend those
Was going to suggest this also, the "Sevendust "Black" At Guitar Center" version showcases his voice so well, definitely a quality there that she can dig into, also a great song to cover during black history month.
The first time I heard them was live many years ago and they opened with Black. The vibe when that reverberating guitar started playing and the draw they had on the crowd was incredible. One of my favorite all time concert moments.
Yes, the Guitar Center session.
A great band to see live. Their appreciation for the fans really shows. Seen Lajon tear up on more than one occasion when the whole crowd knows sings.
Lajon is a beast. “Waffle” is still my fave Sevendust song to this day. You should check out “Angels Son” also 😢 (I prefer the acoustic version featuring Snot, but the album version is great too. The acoustic just hits the feels more)
Yes, Waffle is another great song.
I'm with you 💯%!!!!!!! "Waffle" shows so much more range. It's my favorite, as well. I've used it in a singing competition before.
Ugh Angel's Son...So good and so sad!
I second this 🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽
I like Waffle. I think Decay is really underrated though. Most of their music is phenomenal
This is my all time favorite band. Saw them 2 days ago for like the 30th time. Yeah. They have so many great songs and put on high energy shows.
The way that you can breakdown the music and impeccably explain why this song is good is truly remarkable. Please do more Sevendust songs.
The backing vocals is Morgan, the drummer. And the other band mates contribute as well. I saw Sevendust back in the day. During their first album tours. I bought their first on audio cassette, it opened like a pack of cigarettes. Lol. Some great pits! High energy for sure.
Sevendust has always been one of my favorite bands. One of the best concerts I’ve been to.
I was just about to say this too! She needs to listen dying to live next.
Backing vocals are Clint and Morgan
What do you mean like a pack of cigarettes? Case was worn out?
No, the top flipped open to take the cassette out. Like you would to take out a cigarette.
They're incredible live, too. I love the way their vocals work together in Face To Face.
Keep on!
I'm so glad you finally did Sevendust! I hope you listen to more. So much talent! I love LJ's voice. He's one of my favorite vocalists.
If I could time travel back to anytime in the past, I would bring Sevendust songs to brag about how awesome the future is
"Home" is still my favorite album of all-time
Home is the most staccato album ever recorded. There isn't an open-ringing chord in the entire album! You'd expect the chorus to have open sustaining chords - but nope!
Been my favorite band for the past 20+ years, absolutely PHENOMINAL live!
I got to play Waffle with them at Summerfest, great group of guys.
The first song I remember hearing by them was “Denial.” If you’re looking for other songs by Sevendust, “Chop” and “Dying to Live” are both excellent.
They’re amazing live and such nice guys. Had the fortune to meet them a couple times. Love em.
This made me so so happy. Sevendust was one of the first rock bands I got into as youngin' , seeing a big buff black dude front a metal band gave me all the validation I needed in my little heart. Seen them twice too! This song is one of my favorites
One of my favorite vocalists! Excellent choice!!! Euphoric eargasms galore! They understand melodic harmonies to a master level.
Great band ! Lajon is one of the best hard rock/ metal singers on the planet. Cant wait to see the breakdown on this. More Sevendust Please!!!
I am ABSOLUTELY PRAYING that you do more Sevendust. PLEASE!!!
I will be seeing them live on March 7th in San Antonio, this will be my 10th time!! LOVE THIS BAND!!
Brilliant piece of music!!
@@ckokomo808 It really is.
Came here to say the same thing. NEEDS to happen
Was going to recommend Mob Mentality as well. Beautiful song!
yes she needs to react to this
Love your videos for the breakdown and thoughts on songs, bands and genres.
Don't forget Howard in his new band Light the Torch, new album kicks.
Killswitch ASAP
KSE is a must listen tooooooo!
Howard is/was the shit. Jesse recently had something come out where he talked about Howard's lyrics and singing ability and that he was wrecking his voice trying to replicate it and had to hire a coach. It was great to read.
I just asked if she had done any of Howard's work. He's a gift.
This made me go crazy! My favorite band getting the spotlight!!!!
Please don't ever change. Love your glow and expression on these videos.
Such a talented group of musicians!! So much talent in that band!
Black is the song to check out from them Both the acoustic and the plugged in version. That should be everyone’s first sevendust experience imo.
Yes please, exactly these songs
"Denial" would've been good imo. Just as like, a base level.
Yup, ^ THIS! She would have fun analyzing all that’s going on in that track. Great song!
So happy to see these guys on the channel. They are an awesome band. Saw them live back in 1999 and again last September. They were amazing!!
Please enjoy some more Sevendust! As many others have said their live shows are incredible!
I saw Sevendust live with my parents years ago and my dad actually spotted that the background vocals are coming from the drummer sometimes while he's wailing away! It's amazing to see 😁🎶
Plz do more, His voice is truly amazing, Praise, waffle, Enemy Angles Son
I second Angel’s Son and Waffle
@@DubDuecey2 thank you
Please, for your next Sevendust video, do "Licking Cream." The song is a duet with another artist; a woman named Skin from the band Skunk Anansie. Their vocals intertwine and soar in that song. You'll appreciate it. Great reaction!
ELIZABETH, WOW, YOUR CHOICES OF MUSIC VIDEOS IS JUST GETTING BETTER AND BETTER! I LOVE SEVENDUST. WHAT A GUITAR FRIENDLY BAND.
“The Past” by LaJon Witherspoon and Chris Daughtry is absolutely gorgeous and presents both men’s vocals beautifully. Recommend.
their cover of hunger strike is amazing too!
The first song I ever heard from them was
Live Again I need to check out more.
I had the pleasure of meeting him many years ago. One of the most down to earth people I've met
Just saw them twice this last weekend. As usual they were amazing and they are great guys.
I first was in awe of Lajon's voice when he sang "Bitch" in Woodstock '99. And he hasn't done anything but get better. Also on a side note, I'm amazed that you haven't gotten around to analyzing Zakk Wylde. "Dead as Yesterday" is a good one!
Woodstock 99 was my first Sevendust show as well. Good times.
Zakk Wylde again one of the best should definitely be analysed
Absolutely fantastic!!!! I am however, going to keep screaming about The Crain Wives until someone reviews them.
Sevendust is 🔥🔥 but in the same breath I have to also acknowledge Howard Jones - Light the Torch - his voice is absolutely powerful!
@@adventuresinrodbuilding it would be 🔥🔥🔥
I would add Howard’s work with Killswitch Engage
@@Ryan_Q3L but of course😉 I cannot disagree
I second Howard amazing powerful vocals
I am introduced to your videos from watching this song and you by far have the best reaction I have ever seen to this song! Plus you are adorable too! Your expressions and love for music shows. Can't wait to sub and watch more!
Ya gotta love the backup vocal mix of Morgan Rose, Clint Lowery, and John Connelly. (specifically Morgan & Clint) Clint does the deeper backup, and Morgan does the stuff you first reacted to. Each member's technical abilities are unparalleled.
Aaaaaaaaahhhhhmazing live performances. Seen them 5 times and even got a bass pick from one of the shows!!!
The song he did as a guest vocalist for Earthside is really great too, he has a really cool voice it stands out a lot
Such amazing band to see live. They give off great live energy.
Some songs to check out by them are:
Chariot Song
Over My Head
Summerland
We Were Born to be Loved
I forgot to mention that they are a three piece band that harmonizes incredibly well. All three sing! They are fantastic!
Never heard of sevendust. Just followed on spotify and downloaded a bunch of songs. Looking forward to listening to them. Thanks
You must listen to many other songs from 7D. LJ’s voice is absolutely amazing!
So many great songs by this band! You have to do more! :)
Love, love, love Sevendust! One of the best live performances you can see. Seasons is a good album to hear his voice, its more melody than heavy but I'd have to say his voice in the song Shadows in Red from their album Next hits me in all the right places.
Been one of the best live bands for a long time. I've seen them at least a half dozen times, they NEVER disappoint.
May I respectfully request “Earthside” “Mob Mentality” featuring Lajon! It has orchestra too! Right up your alley! He sings so differently than he does with Sevendust in this track. I figure you’d like this in your free time!
Was just about to say this. Amazing.

A-la Living Color….also absolutely phenomenal and HORRIBLY underrated!
So why was Howard so successful with Killswitch Engage?
Oh my God the way you talk is refreshing so many people mumble or talk super fast these days yet you pronunciate I love it
I saw Sevendust open for Creed in 2000, I believe? Omg so good! I’m still blown away with his voice and their sound!
Was it at music fest in Memphis?
About time you did some Sevendust! They're amazing.
