This video brings back memories of my mom and dad’s family car. We had a black 99 Chevy suburban 1500. That thing was reliable as ever and I loved it to pieces.
Me 200000 plus and still running Chevy Strong I am amazed and my mechanic to.We keep her well maintain and it kept doing what it amazingly Do soso well I just love it peoplebe like is it for sell I say oh no being having it since 1999 same every thing well maintained.Every body say the Same thing.I Don't Blame U.Keep Taking Good Care of It That's a tight one.Oh I wish it was For Sale.Dam.
Christ, i was only 19 when you posted this. Hadn't even started driving yet! Started driving September '09 got my license in march '11... Don't ask. I had to teach myself how to drive.
I love these things. I have a 1999 Tahoe LS with 105,000 miles and it is a tank. 350 Vortec engine is bulletproof. Only issue was the transmission that went out at 100,000 miles. Other issues were minor old car problems such as door lock actuators, a stuck throttle body, and leaky ac fittings. But they were easy fixes and happen on lots of cars its age. I am going to keep it alive as long as possible. This is why I always will believe in Chevrolet!
Gotta remember at least three things with this one- first off, it's a very heavy truck. So it's not going to have super car acceleration. secondly, the engine in that is made for torque not high-revving, high horsepower racing...and lastly, if you're talking about the first acceleration, remember he was going around a series of turns, so I don't think he's going to hit it down going around a turn.
I got a 96 gmc 2500 suburban 2wd with the 454 runs it's ass off love it but eats so much gas wouldn't trade it for nothing and I also have a 97 chevy suburban k1500 4x4 and also an 89 chevy suburban 2wd too
I bought 99 4x4 350 vortex 187k but new engine slt loaded interior for $3288 total.how did I do?im going to put in hydrogen generator to see what I get for fuel mileage.
Had my 99 for a year now. Its a BEAST. I have a few things to say though. Don't know if you bought it already, or where your from. Got mine in RI fully loaded with 4X4 (the works) New snow tires and 113K miles on it. All for $5,250. So look around, because there ARE deals. Had NO problems thus far, and the winter is a dream up in the Whites of NH... ps drove to RI to get it. SAABKYLE04 is right. what drove me to get this was my friends: same model... pushing 240K Miles!!!
I found a 1999 Suburban at a CarMax dealership with 109k and an asking price under 10k. Would you strongly recommend me buying? I have a wife and four children, and this truck seems perfect for us but I have read a lot of mixed reviews on the 99 models. More bad reviews than good. I also take into consideration that the vast majority of people run the life out of their cars prematurely with bad driving habits. I just want an honest opinion before buying.
lol some guy called my 99' s-10 blazer a van...i was like are you serious. it's an suv (no sliding doors, truck frame, truck v6, clearly says suv on the registration lol) i hate when people call suvs vans
if you want that flute sound gone take out this black box thats under the dash. its really bulky, you cant miss it and the sound goes away trouble free!!!
I have a 1999 X-Police suburban.....k1500 with the 5.7 vortec. Mine has the w/t grill option which makes it a single beam sealed headlamp....ill post a vid tonite of it.....Nice trucks, i love them. O, i notice u have push button 4 wheel, no offense but i hate push button 4x4, mine has the floor shift option and i put a new rear end in mine. Peace!!!
I want this so bad!!! :( this is practically my dream car. I want one in blue or gray, i really have no idea why I desperately want this but I do. I need to find one soon :)
the engine on the 1992-1999 Chevrolet Suburban Engine 6.5 L (395 cu in) L56 & L65 Turbo Diesel V8 5.7 L (350 cu in) L05 V8 5.7 L (350 cu in) Vortec L31 V8 7.4 L (454 cu in) L19 V8 7.4 L (454 cu in) Vortec L29 V8
If you look elsewhere on you tube you will see newer Suburbans, Tahoes and Expeditions whose engines are being destroyed by the Cars for Clunkers program. I am sure your boss would have liked to have those trucks for his lot.
@boo101895 i have a rear drive 96 suburban LT with the 5.7L 350 vortec mines is fast 0 to 60 in 9 secs these are the best suburban tahoe and silverado bodys i love 350s
@LthrnZack If it helps, My 1999 Suburban has 217,000 miles on it (pictures to prove) original engine, transmission, everything! The only thing (if it counts) that's wrong is the day-time running dashboard light and t-case switch lights are out but Everything works!! Love the 99
@LthrnZack I have this same truck with 173000 and I drive it every day. It is the best vehicle I have ever owned. I drive it from PA to NC all the time, and take it offroad on the beach when I get there. Strongly recommend.
@vortec1500bhp Ya my rear went and i had to rebuild it, also my driver door hinge pin snapped.....1999 4x4 suburban k1500 5.7 Vortec 33" BF goodrich A/t's (i hate them) and cold air intake with ne cam and lifters
They aren't that bad. I've got a 99 and it gets about the same as a 92 GMC c1500 I had honestly. A little worse in heavy stop and go traffic but not by a lot.
@LthrnZack i agree with kyle here. if not 200k more, you might be able to get 300k more. i retired my burb with 415k. well sold it. its still on road today. approaching 500k.
I love these things. Big and comfy. Unfortunately, from what I've heard, the Vortecs of that time tend to have intake manifold issues. Feel free to correct me on that.
Hey, if you're going to do these types of driving videos on a regular basis and it looks like you do with over 1,000 videos, you should do everyone a favor and get a windshield mount for your camera. They're not expensive, you'll be a safer driver because you have both hands on the wheel and you could probably get a ticket if you're caught holding a camera I imagine. Plus, it would make the videos better if the camera is steady instead of shaking around as you try to hold it while driving.
I love this generation of Suburbans. I would love to own one in red, just like Tony Soprano haha
Do You like that chime
This video brings back memories of my mom and dad’s family car.
We had a black 99 Chevy suburban 1500.
That thing was reliable as ever and I loved it to pieces.
I always loved to get an older Chevy Suburban. Because the newer ones are too expensive to purchase.
Jesse Ladner not a bad reason, the older ones run better 2
@@SoloMarcoPolo facts
@solo Marcopolo wrong my 2015 Tahoe runs better than my old suburban same 5.3 and I took care of the old one it was nice after all
The last year of the suburban being a real truck.
true
TechTubeHD Reviews no the last year was 2006
2014
This generation and 2000-2006 were real. 2007 and onward suck.
Although I would say 2021 is looking great
I have 789k miles on my 99 suburban. And still running strong💪

I learned how to drive on a 99 suburban the only difference was it was cloth interior and had no pin stripe. The things are smooth and comfortable!
@larzproporath It been about 40 years now and the 69 Charger is still looking better than ever.

I got the same year but with the 454 (7.4) I love it regardless of the gas mileage
I got a 96 gmc 2500 suburban 2wd with the 454 runs it's ass off love it but eats so much gas wouldn't trade it for nothing and I also have a 97 chevy suburban k1500 4x4 and also an 89 chevy suburban 2wd too

I have a 99 Tahoe with a 350 and it is an amazing engine
suburbans are my favorite cars, this one looks pretty clean too. I'm saving up money for a C20 454.
Do you have a jumping off vidio of this truck?
Im not a chevy fan, but i miss my moms old suburban, worn out, but still looked nice, had alot of memories with it.
which engine dose this one have?
Why does the oil guage move so much? Never seen pressure fluctuate so much
Does that have a 3.73 rear end??
I have one of these in burgandy. These things are really nice vehicles :D
I like the older suburban even though I'm a huge ford fan
Thank you for your honest opinion.
I remember watching this when I was in summer school for like 2nd grade I think.
Man that’s a nice truck

are you in the stlouis area?
WHAT SONG IS THAR
@wsgut123 2000-06 suburban you mean?
The Reason why I like the older Chevy Suburban's Kyle is because I like the buzzer.
I liked them too. I also liked the new 2016 dinger gm currently has!
5.7l or 7.4l?
@patsnaso what do you expect, carbotanium?
You should do a bunch more videos like these.
Kyle you rock
Could you please test drive the 1998 Chevrolet Blazer

una pregunta cual es el precio de una sub como,? esta mi papa tenia una modelo 94 y estaba hermosa

What's up with the buzzer?
@BluePancake1000 I think the Tahoe was a 2 door, so this quite abit heavier. 255HP in a vehicle this size isn't much
Wis the truck mes GAS?
if you want that flute sound gone take out this black box thats under the dash. its really bulky, you cant miss it and the sound goes away trouble free!!!
@JORDANROUBIQUE My buddie's '92 Surbuban gets 12 or so. But that's a three quarter ton with the 454 big block, not a half ton with the 350.
can you do the Chevrolet Lumina
@Jac2Mac yeah, it needs a buzzer, i will put a buzzer in the 1996 Tahoe LT i want
Damn that thing gets up huh

3:22 what did he say?
Are these trucks good? I know they are known for intake gaskets going bad, but other than that and regular maintance, would you guys suggest it?
Richard John yes!
If you look elsewhere on you tube you will see newer Suburbans, Tahoes and Expeditions whose engines are being destroyed by the Cars for Clunkers program. I am sure your boss would have liked to have those trucks for his lot.
Saabkyle04, is the vehicle you're in is built on a truck frame?
Its a body on frame
@@andybub45 body on frame you say? Excellent!!!

Hi nice truck man, I have one either model 96 with only 79000Km
0:38 I like that startup
My grandpa likes these cars I told him if my family won the PowerBall,I would get him a blue 99 suburban
@saabkyle04 the only bad things about these trucks are their transmissions......CHECK THEM CAREFULLY
@yelena313 it's an SUV, not a Van
3:32 I like that startup
lovin' the offspring at 3:54
Do a 1998 Chevy Silverado if you already haven’t.
@abram7117 tahoe came in both 2 and 4 doors till 1999 then converted to 4 fully.
suburban's are nice vans
Song anyone? 1:04
Incubus - Pardon Me
K D good ol incubus
all of the chevy suvs have to be made on the same assembly line, that looks identical to my 98 blazer
@LthrnZack i agree with kyle here. if not 200k more, you might be able to get 300k more. i retired my burb with 415k. well sold it. its still on road today. approaching 500k.
That alerting sound is kind of irritating...
Jofes1214 it's actually the buzzer. I can live with it as long as its not over a minute or to. lol
You can take it off
I love these things. Big and comfy. Unfortunately, from what I've heard, the Vortecs of that time tend to have intake manifold issues. Feel free to correct me on that.
It’s true. The 5.3 was a better motor but I’d rather have this body style
3:42 I like that song
You got to hate that old Chevy ignition sound.
