The player starts the game as Konami Man, and can switch between Konami Man and Konami Girl. If two players are gaming, then one will play as Konami Man and the other as Konami Girl. Both players are not able to switch characters until they rescue at least one character from one of the six levels. The player must play through six different selectable levels that take place in different Konami games and save that game's star character with a key who the player can then play as. Each character has different abilities to begin with as well as ones they can eventually gain.

What a great game. I played this from beginning to end so many times as a kid.
Someone really needs to edit this game and invert the "move camera if" programming. I seriously can't imagine that Konami purposely made it so the camera only moves when you're on the edge of the screen. That is my one and only complaint about this game.
As for the longplay? Very nice! Enjoying it quote well!
This brings me back. I thought it was the best game to ever come out, and the crossover thing really made me giddy as a kid.

Dude, this would be a total classic if it weren't for the scrolling at the edge of the screen problem. How in god's name could a bunch of people at a company like Konami spend months developing a game and not one single person brought this up?

Finally I found the game that me and my childhood friends used to play. We discover a lot of secret passages, flight mode and more. And we used to call this game Konami war cuz we can't read Japanese lol

@@edwardgaines6561 Um, yes? In the 80's and 90's they did REAL good. Just because they went crazy evil in the middle of the 2010's doesn't mean that their old memories would be erased.
@@ChrisX_212 Yes, there was a time they rivaled Capcom in the beat 'em up department. Konami made some pretty good tunes for those TMNT games. Cherished memories indeed!

This game is so epic. The combination of all hero characters in famicom such as: gaemon, castlevania etc. I used to play this game but never finish.
I love how Konami's two best games were only featured towards the end. lol

Konami Man and Konami Woman now tries find jobs new application in gaming industries for mascot salaries after ill fate original companies has fired them.
I think they were retired more honorably before Konami suddenly turned upside down. I really haven't seen them since the PS1 era, and that was when there's the first Metal Gear Solid.
That said, this was exactly the game I hyped on and played around with during my toddler era, so I always have my F ready for Konami Man and Lady even if the company now is a shadow of its former self....
What? I learn to differentiate old and current Konami.

@@edwardgaines6561 Okay. Here's an idea: The pair that used to be called Konami Man and Konami Girl were suddenly called forth once more... and they find their former home utterly in shambles. New faces and some of their former comrades are found dead by overworking or shamed, some imprisoned with draconian wardens, no outer helps (like King Kong and Mikey, or the TMNT) and there's a new ruler/organizer in the place... no longer the benevolent people like Dr. Cinnamon, but SOMETHING else that embodies greed. It's in those times that the duo need to take the mantle Konami Man and Konami Girl once again and set things right, saving the heroes and restoring the world of Konami to its former glory and beloved rulership.
So who do you want in the roster of an imaginary Wai Wai World 3? (Imagine Solid Snake being in here, for example) Would be a decent idea to poke fun at their history if somehow Konami manages to set themselves straight in the future! Keyword being SOMEHOW.

Sadly, Konami isn't the company it used to be before, they make almost no games anymore and the company became particularly greedy...
I doubt that it's gonna become a reality, not with the Konami we have right now.

This game's good, but its camera system isn't -- you can't see very far in front of you most of the time.

You can actually do it in a hex editor or download a patch or you can use game genie codes.
The hex editor way:
-download XVI32 or other hex editor
-find the address *1d7f3* change C0 to 80
right scrolling fixed
-find the address *1d826* change 40 to 80
left scrolling fixed, character should stay in center.
Patch:
www.romhacking.net/hacks/655/
(includes the Game Genie codes in case if you don't want to modify your ROM, also it should work on a real console using Game Genie)
You can patch the ROM with any IPS patcher tool.

Spook- Kane Goonies II is a NES classic. The first one was never released outside Japan.

+retrogaming I believe the first one may have been released in the US on Nintendo's Playchoice 10 arcade units. Odd that they released it in that format, but not on the NES.
Yeah, back then, they had the rights to make Goonies games (the first one was only released in Japan). The mobile remake removes Mikey and King Kong and replaces them with Upa and Penta.
