Konami Wai Wai World is a Japan-only platformer by Konami which features characters, music, and gameplay elements from many of their previous games such as Castlevania, The Goonies and Twin Bees. It is notable for its two player mechanics, allowing you to change which character you use in real time to match the situation at hand.
Alyosha ( tasvideos.org/Users/Profile/A... ) uses only one player this run, which is an improvement of over four minutes over the previous run due to using modern routing techniques. It is also a ten second improvement over the current RTA record thanks to using the dice game as a quicker way of bringing back all of the Konamii characters for the final level.
Fun Fact: Wai wai means means ( web.archive.org/web/200502140... ) "ruckus" in Japanese. - Ігри
Love this game forever ❤️💚
So many reused Castlevania 2 assets. I ❤ it!!!!
I noticed that too. Probably cut down on development time a significant amount.
Wai Wai world seems to parody a lot of different NES games…going to play through this one again, and it’s been awhile 🙂
I have this and the sequel on my nes mini. Time to check em out finally.
Sounds from CV2 and Contra, I noticed!
I wonder why Konami girl became forgotten? She is one of the most beautiful mascots🤔
I diagnose you with simp
I remember before the Moai Head stage from Gradius is hard AF
Love how much of this is just ripped from Castlevania.
The game is a crossover w/ a bunch of different Konami games, you can choose to play the levels in any order (though certain ones like King Kong & Moai can't be completed until you rescue certain other characters, kinda odd design). Speedruns just always play the Castlevania level first so that's what you see as your initial impression.
What's funny is my old route did Castlevania first because Simon's cross is one of the better attacks vs. bosses and his long range helps a lot in the Goonies level - now it's just because it's the quickest key to get, and you don't need the cross at all with the new routing!
@@joshthefunkdoc yep, I continued to watch and ended up doing a bit of research. Now I need to get a copy of this, it seems great.
Cool
It is said suicide command is up + A + B + start, but to me it doesn't work on VirtualNES. What did I do wrong?
up + A + B + select
the last tas from 2004 has now been obsoleted
And that was mine - surprised it lasted this long! Congratulations to Alyosha, and appreciate the Okayu art in the intro haha
@@joshthefunkdoc yours was wonderful. No suicide tricks. The only defect was in Goonies stage that you didn’t jump to first level but walked on the stairs. That costed you ten seconds.
Does this game use the VRC6 chip
Ngl, 4:00 was kinda tense
Please use Famicom instead of NES in the title, to avoid any confusion.
Ôm lại tuổi thơ càm ơn bạn
How to go back soon when getting key? 2:33
ok, I got it.
