Correction: Game #58 "New Ghostbusters II" was in fact released in Europe in 1992. Thanks @Irfan Afendi for pointing this out! Also, Game #57 - "Nangoku Shirei! Spy vs. Spy" was also released in the US as "Spy Vs Spy". Thanks @carrete 75 for pointing that out!

As cool as new games are I always tend to go back to classic NES just something magical about those 8-bit graphics and the gameplay and music still holds up after all these years! Thanks for making a compilation of Japanese Exclusive games for the NES always wondered about the cool games we never got over here in the U.S.
In Argentina we got the Famicom and most of these were playable in multicarts with front line, Ikki, all the ninja kuns and ninja hattori kun, karateka, antarctic adventure, nuts and milk, my dad's favorite zippy race . Don doko don 2 was hacked into "Mario 8" and it was awesome. Robocco Wars took me years to master
13:38 Thank you for including this gem, I was trying so hard to remember the name of it! You're the only person I've seen (so far) on UA-cam to include this game.
This Steamkey is a great game, thanks Gary! It's THE WAY, from developer Puzzling Dream. Reminds me a lot of Heart of Darkness and Another World. Bit of a time machine, this one! Really enjoying this JP-only Famicom/NES video, and looking forward to future installments. I bet this one was fun to research and produce! The Famicom had so many great action games, universally-playable ... one wonders why so few of them came west? Nintendo of America must have had some hesitation about "flooding the market" with games (which was a problem Atari had a few years earlier). But many of these games look a fine sight better than some of the low-tier NES games we had in the west.
Indeed, some genuinely fabulous games that western audiences missed out on! (Also some lower quality ones that were probably better off staying unlocalized). I am a bit particularly salty about the fact that the sequel to Kung Fu Master (Spartan X-2) was never exported... I hope you enjoy The Way!
9:05 By far, and I really mean that, the most underrated NES game of all times. Remember playing it on pirate "Terminator 2" console in Eastern Europe under the name "Ninja Cats. In my view definetly one of the NES classics!
Good stuff. I heard of aroun 14 of these games and have holy driver and fantasy zone 2 on multicarts. Never heard of most of these but some look good. Nice work
Do you (or does anyone else) know how many exclusive Famicom games there were in total? I did a little bit of research and think the number is probably between 500 and 600, but that's only a very rough estimate and I would love to have a more accurate one.
So many great memories from these games. Was 'Wagyan land' listed here? Before moving back to London i was living in Japan from age 2-6, my parents used to play these games and brought them back to the U.K. I remember i had a special adapter to play japanese famicon games on my british nes.
I noticed a few games that were reviewed in magazines, but never released in the US like Kung Fu 2 (Spartan X2) and Mini Putt. Strangest case was Goonies where the cart never left Japan, but the game did appear in the US on PC-10 and Vs. System, as well as sequel actually being released on cart in the US.
I am from India, some of game Japan exclusive was available in india in 1996 I used to play them. I had third party console which supported all regions game.
i was hoping i could find here the rpg horror nes game i rented as a kid..i was so hooked that ive finished it even though its completely japanese. the game switches from first person roaming to 3rd person 2d platform in boss battles. didnt know the title. looking for it for years.
@@paxhumana2015 Sadly it isnt. i remember the final boss battle switched to side scrolling battle. and the plot was rescuing someone.. i think his girlfriend or daughter.. too young too remember.
I grew up with many of these games because in south africa we had the famicom instead of the nes. Im grateful for that, because famicom had the better games
