Are you having multiple windows user account? If yes, Make sure you are modifying(adding .bak extension) the correct profile. If you are not sure try with 1001. That must be the latest profile If I am not wrong.

Hi, It's not that much easy to just rename your windows user profile account and folder. The best way is to create a new local administrator account with your desired name. Without encountering any problems !!!
After I got this issue I did everything you tried in the video and it didn't work so I decided to reset my PC being the idiot that I am and now to make things worst i've lost every single one of my old files including my UNI work, some has been backed up some hasn't so its a 50/50 old pictures from about 10 years ago RIP and a lot of other stuff
Try to recover your files using recuva recovery software, www.ccleaner.com/recuva/download It might help, Go with the deep scan and choose the different drive.
Are you still seeing .bak folder under ProfileList in Regedit? If yes, You need to delete your temporary profile again and rename the actual windows user profile account by removing .bak extention Hope this helps you !!!!

Click on Windows button in your keyboard --> go to Settings --> now click the Update & Security option --> click "Check for Updates". If updates are available for download, click "Download and install" or "Install Updates". This option might vary based on your windows version. Then restart your PC !!!!

SOLUTION: Restart your computer in Safe Mode. After a few minutes, restart your computer again in normal mode.

When you remove the backup profile,
and update the name of the profile by removing .bak from end , then inside that file ,
See that if the username is same as the username in your C drive > users > username ,
both name should be same
