@LYBism This was the rematch for the Welterweight Title, where Leonard faced Duran again after losing the first fight. As Leonard entered the ring, he looked intimidated, while Duran exuded his usual confidence. Then, the anthems began. Duran’s anthem felt uninspired, like a lackluster mariachi band performance. But when Ray Charles took the stage for "America the Beautiful," everything changed. His voice was electrifying, lifting the entire arena and transforming Leonard. I watched as Leonard’s fear turned to confidence-he went from hesitant to fierce. It was like witnessing the moment the blind man won the world title for him. I would agree with that for all of them other than Michael Jackson. I would not have had the balls to show up in diamond studded socks and gloves and a gold laced jacket to sing a song for people so poor that they don’t even have food. When this happened, I was a 10, maybe 11 or 12, year old dorky white kid in California. And I cried. And I still do. Part of it was I knew every single one of these performers, but more than that, it felt like changing the world for the better was possible. I haven't felt that way in a long time, but I still try to in my own small ways. I'm glad you two reacted to this. I sincerely hope that this wasn't the peak of the human species, of our potential, and ability to come together as one. But it's hard sometimes to believe that we will ever get back to this place. These reaction videos, from lots of different people from lots of different backgrounds, brings me hope.
I’m South African and what’s crazy about watching this video is that I was 10 years old when this song first came out. This song played whole day, everyday on the television, car stereos and radio airwaves. Everyone learnt the lyrics singing at every chance they got and everyone bought into the idea that we are indeed one world. Fast forward a few decades later and America is gung-ho on supporting wars and destruction. Not forgetting that most celebrities and music artist are guild the same.
What a beautiful reaction to a beautiful song and the beautiful souls who worked so hard to make this record and give the money made to Feeding Africa.
Thanks for your reaction to this song. Just to clarify, the USA was not the first to react and help the famine in Africa with their song here. They were 2nd!!! The United Kingdom needs to get credit, as singer Bob Geldoff got as many famous British artists together that he could, and they created the song DON THEY KNOW IT'S CHRISTMAS to help the people of Africa as there was a large famine in Ethiopia. The song was a HUGE hit in the UK, USA, and CANADA, and Michael Jackson and producer Quincey Jones, with the help of Lionel Richie, decided they wanted to do a song also to help. After the Grammy awards show on TV, they asked many of the artists at the award show if they would record this song together and this is the video you see after the award show was over. 👏 👏 CANADA soon followed with their own video also, featuring Canadian artists, called TEARS ARE NOT ENOUGH. Just a great effort that was then followed by all of the artists agreeing to participate in the world famous LIVE AID Concert for charity....showing how generous all these people were to helping the fight against famine in Africa. I hope you watch the other song videos too, as they deserve the spotlight too for what they helped inspire ❤❤. Thanks for your reaction. Keep smiling 🙂👍🇨🇦

I am a grown man, 50 years old and have watched may reactions to this masterpiece but I have never wept like I just did watching you both. I remember when it was released as a child and the struggle in Ethiopia then. It hit home then and still does now.
Why do we get emotional when we see something like this? Our soul speaks. He talks about the good things that are increasingly rare or that he misses the good things that we would like to see more often in today's world. Nice reaction!
I felt what the young lady on the left was saying. Things are different today, and not for the better. So glad I was able to experience this America as a kid before it disappeared.
I remember watching this live and was awestruck 😮❤ way back then. We can Google almost everything nowadays but we can never Google your beautiful appreciative tears. Thanks
Both of you should watch band aid that recorded Do they know it’s Christmas. Bob Geldof and Midge Ure wrote the song and got all the artist together to help the people of Ethiopia as there was a famine, this was in December 1984 and millions of people were dying. He also got singers together to for the live Aid concert which took place in the UK and America. It’s time to start living in that world as the world we live in now is a disaster waiting to happen!!
This song envokes emotions because the lyrics are so vivid that it puts us in the famine to which its trying to help. This made lots of kids cry in the 80's and all we wanted to do was help Africa.
On the morning of April 5, 1985 (Good Friday of that year) at 3:50 pm GMT, over 8,000 radio stations simultaneously broadcast the song around the world. As the song was broadcast, hundreds of people sang along on the steps of St. Patrick's Cathedral in New York. We Are the World" raise more than $80 million ($222 million today) for humanitarian aid in Africa and the United States.
This MV/song was a response to what was first done in the UK - a group of celebrities came together to do a song for charity to famine in africa. They called the group Band aid and the song is "do they know its christmas?". Then American responded to that by doing this song / mv which then inspired a concert to raise money for africa.
I love your reaction! 🥰 I remember I was in high school when this came out. We watched this video over and over again, lol. Everyone featured in this video are true music legends. I know they raised a lot of money back then. I hope it was able to help a lot of people.
No matter who we are or where we come from we must come together. The world is dying. Kindness is dying. We need humanity in this world more than ever. I’m almost 50 and in all my years I’ve never seen it worse. We have to get back to this
You were not aware of the immense size and triumph of the song "We Are the World." Renowned American singers participated, and the global audience became aware of the necessity to assist the people in Africa, particularly Ethiopia, which was the focal point for aid. La Toya Jackson, The Pointer Sisters, and Harry Belafonte were among the attendees. I was a young teenager when this song was unveiled, and it gained universal acclaim as the anthem for worldwide hunger and famine. To be honest, I am consistently moved whenever I listen to this song.
I was 15 that year and you know that hunger exist I had just not ever seen it. We saw pictures daily and it was heart breaking. I know one day it played for 24 hours on every station across the US. It was amazing. It brought humanity to the forefront. Amazing song. Amazing cause and so glad that we were able to make a difference difference.
You know what's great about all these artist?... no runs. Every single voice sounds different. Today... they'd all sound the same. Miss those old day singers.

True America. Teamwork, talent, passion. love and soul.
Done for famine in Africa.
lovely to see you listen with your heart sweet reaction, and you look good LOVE FROM DENMARK
Best musicians all together just majestic!
Beautiful smile! Wonderful reaction.
Greatest assembly ever for one night, one song
You girls are so sweet. I'm crying for our times too. Keep on rockin
Thank you for your reaction was so beautiful love QLD Australia thank you so very much.
I am 54years old now. I was 14years old when this was made. There are Legends in that group. Some have passed and are close to it.
The World ❤ you, Africa. You are NOT alone. We love you, think and pray for you.
I was 15 years old when this song came out and I’ve been trying to live by that motto ever since it’s just amazing
All the ones singing in this are ledgends in America. Love yall GOD BLESS EVERYONE🙏🙏🙏😇😇😇❤️❤️❤️🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
!!! There´s a 2010 version of this, also very impressive and versatile. WE ARE THE WORLD 25 for HAITI !!! Watch! 🙂
Waouh... exceptionnelle chanson. Et le moment avec Bruce Springsteen et Stevie Wonder est incroyable. Comme Ray Charles.
Africa famine: first we had Band Aid from UK then USA for Africa which raised over $120 million. Why don’t musicians do this anymore 😔
They actually had a group of musicians who did this. The We Are the World 25 for Haiti sucked and we all know it. The 80s version is better.
I love the way you get so emotional. You have a tender soul.
What a beautiful reaction to a beautiful song and the beautiful souls who worked so hard to make this record and give the money made to Feeding Africa.
Amazing song, Amazing voices
Beautiful reaction ❤
The 80's was a special time to live
Thank you for this 😊
That came out when I was in the 5th grade and it was our class song when I graduated the 6th grade. That's just how long that song was on top.
CANADA soon followed with their own video also, featuring Canadian artists, called TEARS ARE NOT ENOUGH.
And wasn't he accused of misappropriation of those funds?Geldof was not a good human being.
Why does it have to be a competition
@@mcdonoghrahloh459 and answer to that is no there is absolutely no proof in this … the BBC who alluded to this did come out and apologised … but of course once you start misinformation then it takes on a life if it’s own…
@@annemitchell6144 it’s not a competition but there is absolutely nothing wrong in stating the truth of how it started ….as from seeing many of these reactions they have no idea it was Bob Geldolf and Midge Ure Taft started the whole thing and especially Midge, who gets totally forgotten about
@@Dcs.234 Sure thing🥱 Just like Jimmy Savile hunh!
if only we could be like this today - it was a moment in time, and then the moment passed
People crying for listen amazing voices?? Its easy to understand, we're talking about the BEST voices of all time...
Great reaction. The collaboration was a feat itself. Amazing legends in one room.
Yeah I love the song too and it was good that everybody all those artists came together and raised all that money to help everyone over in Africa what a wonderful thing and God bless everybody that was involved
Overwhelming!
Yeah
You had me crying and reaching for tissues, and I already get emotional anyway when watching this. Lol
When America thrives the world is a better place, love this song, it touches my soul
We are one. Best wishes from Germany💞
It's been almost 40 years since this song was published and it still touches my soul, thank you girls for your reaction! ❤
Solo Michael Jackson podis reunir a tsnta estrella...todos humildes... Michael Jackson...es el rey
.
It's a love song to the world. If we each send a word or gesture of kindness to everyone we meet we are saved from hate.
This MV/song was a response to what was first done in the UK - a group of celebrities came together to do a song for charity to famine in africa. They called the group Band aid and the song is "do they know its christmas?". Then American responded to that by doing this song / mv which then inspired a concert to raise money for africa.
Man you gotta love Cindy Lauper here.
Such a beautiful song. I pray that the whole world may come to realize that we are one big family.
Love the whole World and especially Africa, sending lots and lots and lots of love to every beautiful African from Australia
Yes.listening to this song with you both makes it feel new again. A great effort by these artists to help the starving people of Ethiopia.
we wont ever see this again sadly but glad we have this video.
Still getting chills as i did the very 1st time hearing this
I was 15 that year and you know that hunger exist I had just not ever seen it. We saw pictures daily and it was heart breaking. I know one day it played for 24 hours on every station across the US. It was amazing. It brought humanity to the forefront. Amazing song. Amazing cause and so glad that we were able to make a difference difference.
Africans don't know how much African Americans loved them for so long we really thought we made a difference giving meanwhile...
You know what's great about all these artist?... no runs. Every single voice sounds different. Today... they'd all sound the same. Miss those old day singers.
This is one of the most beautiful and authentic reaction videos to the human spirit. Thank you!
