Sullivan interviews are always outstanding. One of the most creative wrestling minds ever.
Had opportunity to Wrestle Kevin in Seattle in 2015,Great honor!🤩
You keep delivering the biggest guns, James! Wonderful get and wonderful delivery.
I was one of the few people at Florida shows who cheered for Sullivan. Once a crowd turned on me and my dad had to get me outta there while we were being pelted with drinks and whatever else they could throw. I also took a couple of punches it felt like. I met Kevin two years ago and got to tell him the story and he laughed pretty hard about it 😆
Kevin learned quickly . and shared the trade .
Best history class I ever sat through!! Absolutely great! Thanks guys for your work!!
I remember when Kevin Sullivan started out with the WWE back then was the WWWF! Fantastic performer 👍
Wwf*
Kevin,
Please write a book...
James, thank you so much for this. Awesome.
Love Mr Sullivan. You can tell who the honest ones are, and Kevin seems to be one of the most sincere, truthful, and interesting imterviews.
I have been a Kevin Sullivan fan since the early 80's
The Sabu story is Heartbreaking ! And to think that Paul Hayman STILL owes Sabu 100's of Thousands of dollars ... Now That , THAT is Truly Heartbreaking !!
Scumbag Heyman always ripping off people
He owed a lot of people a lot of money lol
Yea, just so heartbreaking. Who cares?
@@user-yx9bs8zo5q I care , a lot of people with Balls and Their Word CARES !! You DickLess wonder !
I never knew it was hundreds of thousands....jesus. The WWE pays Heyman 2 million a year, you think Paul could come off enough to at least partially repay the stars he owes that helped make him who he is.....smh. One of my favorite bookers and I have a lot of respect for him when it comes to knowing the business but there's things like this that make it impossibile for me to respect him more as a person.
Lol... I feel terrible..why would anyone do that ... 30 seconds earlier... Laughing as he Spikes his arm !!! Love Kevin Sullivan..The Taskmaster
James…I WISH you could be in the SAME room/studio with both Sullivan and Cornette! The logistics might be a nightmare, but it would be one hell of an interview! So funny
Cornette has interviewed Kevin a few times.
@@Rjensen2 I’ve watched them. I think with someone asking them both questions at the same time, and both having great wrestling minds, if they were all three in the same room, the stories would flow and it’d be hilarious !
I remember when he was training with Tony Atlas. I was fortunate enough as a kid to have been living in North Alabama so I first knew Kevin when he was a part of Jimmy Harts stable in Memphis. Kevin must have been competing in body building around that time he was shredded. Then in 1981 my parents divorced and I moved with mom to central Florida when Kevin returned. This was the beginning of his heel turn. Then he brings in Jake Roberts,Roop and of course the Purple Haze. What a storyline very entertaining. Taskmaster👍
Great Hall of Farmer. Grows great cabbage and turnips...
I remember Curtis and Mark as tag team in Australia back in the sixties they were very popular.
Did not realize how many people King Curtis influenced
Chuckled at the part where he says, I wasn’t a great bench presser, just did 405lbs.
Very good, thank you. What was the name of the book Kevin said his friend wrote? I thought he said "Old school ring squid", but I couldn't find it.
1 Warrior Nation!
I saw Crockett's NWA and WCW many nights at The Macon Coliseum in Macon GA
Admiral Karl Donitz
That Jim Herd line about Sullivan's stuff being terrible because "You have to watch every week to find out what's going to happen" is UNBELIEVABLY stupid on Herd's part
No exaggeration, probably the daftest sentence uttered by anyone involved in the wrestling business
Jimmy Valiant is one the nicest guys around
The task master
I don't think I knew Kevin Sullivan was Power Lifter until Tony Atlas interview. Is there a reason didn't Capitalize his Last Name? That is funny when he was talking about Ric Flair calling him The Devil. I think depends where lived if saw Florida Championship Wrestling. I think in NY that was on UHF from many I've seen in interviews but not sure if I had it here. Smokey Mountain nobody saw or heard of at all hehe. I remember when New Jack came from there to ECW nobody had any clue. Its not like had YT or tape trading was that big. NWA most knew Jim Crockett Promotions as it was on TBS. I'd see WCCW or ESPN had on Memphis or AWA. Some Channels had Mexican Triple A or CMML. FMW or XPW very difficult to see heh. Spike The Arm ;).
Championship Wrestling from Florida, not Florida Championship Wrestling.
@@Rjensen2 Thanks I think one of them I'd see Bill Alfonzo as Ref. That Flair had first match with Luger with him there maybe. I am just not good at putting things in the right order ;).
@@Rjensen2 Thanks I think one of them I'd see Bill Alfonzo as Ref. That Flair had first match with Lex with him there maybe. I am just not good at putting things in the right order ;).
Blackjack put me over big time, nice guy
Venus in Jyestha
Also James...Superb interviewer
I dont understand why you keep saying you used to do a pod cast with don , but new ones keep popping up.
Best storyline is Austin v McMahon, and it's not close. That drew more money than hundreds of great angles combined. It lasted years, put WWF ahead for good, killed WCW, and had 7-8 million people watching every week, some of them never to return to watching.
Well now that youve gotten the WWE version of the story outta the way.
Probably not when adjusted for inflation.
Kinda just 2 years, but then lingered on doing nothing for years.
It helped put WWE ahead.
No, AOL/Time Warner killed WCW.
Eh... more like 5 every week, 7 or 8 if WCW was pre-empted.
Taskmaster Talks is a great podcast!
Man I couldn’t tell tell who he’s saying to watch if you want to see a heel with the 6 gears… I’ve listened a dozen times and can’t tell the name he’s saying
Will listen for it, and report back.
Sounded like Paul orndorf
Paul Orndorff
Kevins accent reminds me of home
I have a feeling that Kevin (NOT NASH) was put in so many terrible spots by all the "Marks".... Flair,Nash,Hall,Hogan,Bordin,Steiner,.....ETC.
2 hours part 1.man how long is this
If I had a dollar for every time that I've heard that ...... I'd have a Dollar :-(
They actually talked for 43 hours straight , should be about 21 or 22 parts
Is Kevin sick?
Yeah .... Sick of You !!
WWE should've snagged him up after they bought WCW.
I think after the grind of the last few years of WCW he had had enough for a bit. Though he's told that story before where they apparently talked to him. He actually had a meeting with Stephanie and it didn't go too great. According to Kevin she approached it like he was some newbie off the street looking for a job and her first question to him was "And who are you exactly?" He claims he told her: "Ask your father." 😄
@@KClouisville I've heard the same story lol. Stephanie messed that one up for sure.
I'm still confused as to why he never went to WWE at some point, though. He has such a great mind for the business and has pretty much done it all.
OMG he's like 85 now
And???
And still better than you !
@@brainhakker7133 Not by any metric, lmao!
@Espo78 you are an ugly old man. NOW GO GET YOUR SHINE BOX
Those weightlifting numbers seem a little suspicious.
Look it up: Kevin killed the monkey on the way to the ring with him by snapping it's neck.....to this day he still laughs Abt it
Damn!! (as Ron Simmons would say)
Who cares?
Is this the dude who killed Benouat? 🤐
[Killed who?]
Nobody knows who that is
@@dansokulski4039 Chris Benoit, some silly conspiracy rumors that Sullivan killed him.
Benoit killed himself.

Sullivan was married to woman..
Such a good bloke
