I always enjoy Mo Gawdat's disucssions, and in general I agree with his insights. However as soon as he talked about everyone universally agreeing that it is not OK to kill children, I thought of Israel murdering, maiming, torturing, starving tens of thousands of Palestinian children - - It is not even the least ambiguous, the evidence is overwhelming and has been present long before the current Gaza Genocide. Israel has shown that the innate ethics Mr. Gawdat refers to are not universal. Individuals and an entire society can be trained to replace positive human instincts (compassion, empathy, goodwill towards children) - with evil ones. AI is already being used to kill people, including children e.g.- the "Where's Daddy" AI that Israel uses to target families in their homes. So not sure that relying on universal ethics to manage AI is feasible.

He literally said “most people” would agree that killing a child is morally wrong. Nothing about it being a universal innate belief
