My uncle had a 63 GMC 1 ton dump, He owned it from around 1970-84 ?. As a kid I would drive that thing around the yard and up and down the "dump road" learning how to shift and pulling on that huge steering wheel lol The name "Gus" was on the door from the previous owner so naturally it was forever known as old Gus. Thanks Dane for all you do for us aging truckers lol

Really like he 63 GMC my Grandfather had one almost identical when I was a kid. Same wheel base was red also it may have been a 60 with the different hood but same cab I actually learned to start driving it I would sit on my dads lap and steer down the highway we hauled tires in it it had a steel custom stake bd for tires. We called it Redbird

I was really shocked when I saw you had the crackerbox for sale over on Facebook because I thought it was one you had a real personal attachment to, but hearing your reasoning I am in total agreement. I know a single axle tractor is simpler and cheaper to run, and a lot of people pull one of the diffs out from under trucks they keep as a toy but that isn't for me either. I can live with a day cab if I have to, but I so greatly like the look of tandems I usually pass on a truck without them. Ultimately that was the reason I sold my B Mack. It had the sleeper pulled and one axle removed when they put an oiler body on it. No matter how good it ran I just never loved how it looked like that. I wish you a very Happy New Year!!
We think alike my friend, there’s just something about that sleeper tandem look that is so iconic. Everyone has their memories that make that connection to whatever truck they loved as a youngster. I’m enjoying every truck I have the blessing to bring in, “rejuvenate” enjoy and pass on to others to enjoy too. Thanks for watching and Happy New Year my friend. 😬👍

O-H-I-O Porters shout Happy New Year 🇺🇸 Love those old trucks. Looks like they’ve been working on restoring them. I think the Chevy is considered a CAB-FORWARD model & not a cabover, but I’m not sure of that. I can remember those old trucks being around when I was a kid. The frames sure looked good! WOW! It sure would be good to see those at the next Jamboree!! You have put a lot of work into your Crackerbox & I’m shocked that you’re willing to sell it. I know how that goes though. I put up one of mine For Sale, regretted it & took it off 2 days later. Blessings my friend! Thanks for sharing! ❄️🥰✌️

Once you basically finish a project it tends to make you get a little stale or whatever you’d say but always having something new and fresh keeps the excitement. See you soon 😬👍
@@DaneScottsTRUCKERSLOUNGE 🇺🇸 So far, I haven’t bought anything that I can part with easily. The other thing is that I don’t like quitting on a truck until I get it done & running. By then, usually I get attached to it! Well, that’s the truth for me! I bought my straight truck mainly for a project/doner truck for my REO. Bottom line, I don’t want to get rid of something until I’m ready! I don’t like having too many projects either. You’re never done with a truck, for the most part. That’s what they say. The projects don’t get any cheaper though. Blessings!✌️

As per a FB conversation we had, it’s YOUR toy box, you get to choose what stays/goes….Crackerjack will leave the Trucker’s Lounge in better condition than in which it arrived.
You certainly have a full roster with what you have, though I suspect a few might come and go….any “bucket list” candidates?

I have plans for 'Sarge" since he was a former Anchor Motors warrior. I actually love driving it more than the Cbox. Plus it doesn't have the value the Cbox holds.
