I just love the look of those 60,61 hoods
I dont mind them however i like the 62 to 66 hoods better
Thanks for remembering the fans of this series of GM trucks. I am more of a 1960 to 1966 GMC / Chevy guy. One of these days I will finally get one. I DO love my 1981 Short wide Chevy Cheyenne, but one of these days I want to go back to my favorite GM truck era.
What's NOT to love about an 81 Short-Wide Chevy? I'll try to do some more on the 60's trucks my Friend. Seems like this one was very well received by my viewers. Thanks Fer Stoppin' by Again'. -Rick
I was in the Marine Corps stationed at Camp Pendleton. I had a 1963 Chevy with a 283 3 speed, I change the 3 speed to a 4-speed Saginaw, it was very fun to drive and my buddies called it the Grandpa Chevy.
Super cool! Love to have one!
Go for it! Thanks for watching.
I would have to say the 1960 is my favorite out of all the trucks and don't know why I like the styling of it
Nice rig ,great job guys, Annabelle is so awesome and I really appreciate and enjoy your videos, ❤LoveJim J&R mobile service and God Bless Y'all and your critters

+Classic Truck Rescue just found y'all today love ole trucks , are y'all in U.S. or canada
We are in Northwest Oregon my new Friend. Thanks Fer Watchin'. -Rick
Cool thanks for responding. keep up the good work
I believe this is the Christmas truck give way
Correct. Thank you. -Rick
nice video I always loved this truck and I was always looking for it in the background but hopefully it gets a new home and back on the road! man uploaded 8mins ago... I'm pretty early also I'm in Portland Oregon right now visiting some relatives too!
Too bad it didn't have the original V6 engine, those were awesome, and I love to hear them get fired up. Unheard of in Canada, we got GMCs with different nomenclature and engines.
Half-ton were called GMC 910 and they had the Chevy sixes. They had Chevy's because there was a tooling in Canada to make them, in those pre-Autopact days. Those V6s would have been much more expensive, mostly due to import tariffs.
If i only lived closer, but being in georgia i may as well be on the other side of the world to you rick. dang it...
wow Gofer is lookin great Jamie, great job you can detail my truck any time darlin lol
Nice I like the Jamie White Wheel of Fleetside presentation. And she is correct it's
Dingo Balls.
good find
lol love that little dog ...
nice truck Rick like the style of the front looks cool
Yes, its a very unique truck. Thank you and Thanks Fer Watchin'. -Rick
I've got a 1961 Chevy Apache 10 long bed like that. The original owner had tried to use caulking for body work it as well, and he was a farmer, not a painter. My uncle's father-in-law was the original owner. Can't remember for sure but I probably drove it in the hay fields when hay hauling time rolled around every year when I was a kid back in the early 70s.
Amazing the memories these old trucks stir-up. Thanks Fer Watchin' my Friend. -Rick
These truck look a lot wider then the 1957-59 Gmc's & Chevy's They sure were good Work truck's in the 60's & early 70's Lot's of farmer's used these truck's to haul lot's of Hay horse Poop haha! Hauling single horse trailer's!!
They are considerably wider inside the cab. -Rick
I've been waiting for a go around on this one for awhile! My Grandad had a 1960 midnight blue Chevy truck in the 1960's. I've had two 1964 GMC's with the V6 in them. unfortunately this style had some bad rust issues so depending on one's skill level a cab replacement may be a good thing.....Lee G.
Thanks Lee. Customer wants to take the time and repair the original. I think that may be the best thing. The cab is not as bad as some of seen and has a lot good going for it. -Rick
WD=40 sprayed on the glue from the decals after gently heating with a hairdryer , scrub with a microfiber cloth it fill come right off fairly easy , it won't harm the paint , after the glue is off wash that spot with dawn dishwashing detergent , just that area as it will remove the oil, and any and all wax that is on the paint , follow up with a good wax ,all done ;) this one time at band camp I had this glue on my monster truck ... ha ha ha
Thank you my Friend. I read your comment to Jamie and she started laughing. -Rick
Tci adhesive remover works great and doesn't hurt the paint or denatured alcohol
Thanks for the tip Randy and Thanks Fer Watchin'. -Rick
🔥🔥😎😎🔥🔥
Nice truck Rick love ur videos
Thank you and Thanks Fer Watchin'. -Rick
happy birthday-brother darrell
Thank you Darrell and Thanks Fer Watchin'. -Rick
To remove the glue from the lettering buy some 3M Adhesive Remover Part # 08984. NAPA usually carries it. It will remove the glue and it also works well on road tar. Ive used it on cars, RV's and boats it doesnt damage the paint. Try it you will love it.
Thank you my Friend, and Thanks Fer Watchin'. -Rick
*to add.....it will NOT harm the paint*
Very nice shape for an older gal , and trucks not bad either!
Thank you and Thanks Fer Watchin'. -Rick
Always been a fan of the 60's body style, short wheelbase step side. My favorite is the 62, gonna git me one of those babies some day! Rick, did you ever get Tug back running? Miss that o'l boy!
Having a hard time keeping up with the equipment failures my Friend. I will get to tug as soon as I get our dedicated electric installed. Thanks, -Rick
Really wish I had the money to buy that truck I had a 60 Chevy short bed step side when I was 16 350 small block 4 speed I really wish I could get another 60 I love those truck so much that person is lucky you just don't find those to much in good shape oh well nice truck thanks for the video
👍
I am sad to see the GMC go. Was hoping to get some parts off of it. haha Hopefully it'll be going to a good home.
Torsion Bar front suspension. Yeah.
Yup.
I'll bet she didn't know her shirt was so revealing. :-)
I didn't either. Thank you my Friend and Thanks Fer Watchin'. -Rick
The whole problem with removing that glue is as you remove it from one area, it sticks to another. The awesomeness of WD-40 is it's lubricant properties prevent it from sticking elsewhere while it's penetration properties help to break down the glue. Combining the WD-40 with a little rubbing of a thumb with or without a rag around it will remove the glue fairly quickly, and as a bonus you get to smell like WD-40 for a while.
I'm at
efilnikufecin2004 .ah the smell of WD-40
rick..bet this truck was a real hollywood when it was new...and surprised a 'Deluxe' didn't have a head liner? hope all is well....love the front grill...fall is here my friend...been brutal summer here too...take care my friend..Rich
Yes, I bet it was something to behold. Thanks Fer Stoppin' by again my Friend. -Rick
Hey rick i see a troll is among us it will get sick and dry up keep up the good work rick take care of that pit bull!
I just saw that. Troll removed my friend. Sorry my Viewers had to read his trash. -Rick
Classic Truck Rescue I don't care what that idiot has to say the rest of us love your work!
Thank you Eddie. I don't take it personal. 12,000+ other people are supportive and encouraging. -Rick
Right turn Clyde
That was a 55 Chevy my Friend, but I am guilty of watching that movie way too many times. Thanks Fer Watchin'. -Rick
Love the body ink...wow!
Goo Gone.....citrus-based, non-toxic and dissolves all the nasty glue boogers left behind. That '60 has lots of potential for sure....
Thank you Chris and Thanks Fer Watchin'. -Rick
hey, we past you headed to Boise ID on the 23rd. You were pullin an old AD chevy.
It was a 48 GMC. Wave next time. Thanks Fer Watchin'. -Rick
kool
to remove the decal glue try WD40 spray on leave for 30 min then buff by hand this may help . Jeff from Australia QLD
There's this stuff called "Goof Off" I use it on all the dirt bikes (always plastered with stickers) I rebuild.
Buety.... the lady 2!
I was taught to use white spirit or pre-paint spirit wipe and plenty of elbow grease to remove sticker glue residue, and a little bit of heat from a hair dryer can help if the glue is old and particularly hard but you need to be careful as too much heat will burn the paint. It's a shame some knuckleheads feel the need to vent on here...
Thank you for the tip my Friend. I've learned the best defense is delete, block and ignore. Thanks Fer Watchin'. -Rick
Classic Truck Rescue I hope the tip might be useful to yourself and Jamie...
It will thank you.
Tell Jamie to use Orange Power Sticky Spot & Goo Dissolver for the decal glue :)
Thanks Nigel and Thanks Fer Watchin' Again. -Rick
If you found another 63 that was running Fleetside long or short bed like the one you sold how much would it be? I'm interested
I've got to find more friend to try and win this thing.
Well, you already have a head start....and you ARE one of the reasons I decided to give another truck away so soon,...I did get more than one comment from guys who said "This contest is unfair because I have no Friends".....not saying YOU, because a LOT of people wanted "The GOOPER" to win the '59 Chevy....Just saying....I thought about that...and prayed about it. It would be easy to tell the guys who say "Not a fair contest because I have no friends"...."Well...? why don't you have any friends?" But it is probably MUCH BETTER to say.....If you WANT to have some friends, why not reach out to strangers...and just say "Hi, my name is Bob...or John...or whatever...and I really love old trucks....and I watch this UA-cam Channel where this couple goes out and saves old Fire Trucks and Tow Trucks and makes them run again....and they are giving away a FREE truck...and all I have to do to win the truck is get my friends to subscribe to their You Tube channel and it doesn't cost anything......will you help me? Because no matter what anyone thinks about how messed-up our society is....I would say that the majority of American people still love it when they can help someone.....and hence...Friendships develop. Amen?
+Classic Truck Rescue Thank you Rick, and amen.
CTR, try getting a Citroën Mehari your way in this deal, they are fun same as a mini moke is fun.
I will look one of those up my Friend. Thanks Fer Watchin'. -Rick
que linda senora
Gracias.
Hope all is great with you both .... Just miss your vids ????
We just got back from Rescuing 'Sparky" the 1958 GMC Fire Truck From Minnesota Dave. 3400 miles round trip, but we got tons of footage along the way and I will be uploading it all soon. Thanks Fer Askin'. -Rick
whew...now that's cool ... I was just being a worried fan ...Great to hear Cheers
wow
Thanks Fer Watchin again. -Rick
Your translator is working pretty good my Friend. Thanks again.
What kind of trailer are you using to haul Sparky?
Rick the original driver side mirror is a big deal to me. So many old trucks have those cheesy aftermarket mirrors.
That truck should be torsion bar front suspension
I think you're right John, but I traded it to a friend a long time ago for building materials. Thanks.
Best (chemical) product for decal glue is Autoglym Tar and Glue remover.Just pour on a dry cloth and rub the glue away, if its really tough pour the liquid straight onto the body and let it soak for 15mins then rub it off. wash with warm soapy water and your done. no damage to the paint. It is a man made chemical but sometimes you need that for stubborn areas. Its the only thing I have used for the last 15 years doing car body.
Try using Avon Skin So Soft on the sticker glue.
I need an interior cleaner like that, damn, 😍😍
Goof off or goo gone will take that stuff right off
I was born in June of 1960 , my drivetrain is shot too !! No rust ,but a little caulking .8 ( God Bless and don't forget summer is over already 8 (
there is a 1957 chevy Coe in Shelton Washington. what do you think about it.
Rick, it seems like you do a fair amount of business in Europe. The cost of shipping, fuel, and parts must be tremendous. Do you know if your customers are private owners, or are these being put in large collections or what?
Both, some go into collections, some are for private owners, and some go to customization shops that fix them up for resale. Any way you look at it, the trucks are better off than they were when I pulled them out of the bushes though. Thanks Fer Watchin'. -Rick
tell Jamie to use some 409 cleaner sprayed on a warm cloth to take the glue off of Gophers doors.
Will do. Thanks Jeff. -Rick
Just curious to know, roughly how much does it cost to send a vehicle out to a customer. I assume it varies by how far your shipping it to. I use goo gone to remove sticker residue. I also use purrell hand sanitizer to remove sap off of paint. Cheers👍
one to two thousand on the shipping. I've had customers who have gotten really good deals by putting their shipment up on Uship for bids though. Thank you, -Rick
That would be all..........l of your undivided attention Rick....!! 😜😜😜😜😜😜
Funny....off to the swimmin' hole. Thanks Fer Watchin'. -Rick
hey Rick I noticed in your other videos at this truck is still sitting there is it still going to France?? If not I might be interested
The customer in France has first option my Friend. Been asking me to clean it up and do a description for about a month. I'll let you know. Thanks Fer Watchin'. -Rick
Okay well thank you if it doesn't work out please let me know I used to have a 60 Chevrolet Fleetside I put a small block 400 in it left the granny box 4 speed put a dump truck overdrive on it and drove it for quite a few years and I really liked it I'd like to get another one thank you for your time I really enjoy your videos you guys are really doing things up right keep up the good work
If have a friend that does signs and i think he uses isopropyl alcohol for cleaning residue off truck before and after installing or removing letters
Rick there is a video by Paul Short about removing stickers and the glue gunk.
Paul ROCKS!
there is a truck like that in someone's back yard down the street from me
Rick & Jamie nice walk around and description of the truck. Will You be getting the white truck registered & road ready for Jamie to drive soon Rick?
Did you score another truck with homers trailer & The old Mule #1 Rick&Jamie ? I noticed the old mule #1 & Homers trailer missing in the last couple video's from in front of the fifth wheel.
Rick & Jamie looking forward to Sparky coming home soon. Have a safe trip.
Hey Rick do you have a 55 to 59 Chevy steering wheel complete in great condition? I'd like to buy one if you have an extra one laying around thanks. -Hunter
Yes, if you send me a private message through the Classic Truck Rescue Facebook page I will respond with photos. Thank you. -Rick

Mustbe working hard at the ranch.
I was working hard in Minnesota, but we are home with "Sparky" now. I'll get on uploading some footage of the trip my Friend. Thanks, -Rick

Hey Rick How's Your tractor tug with the forks. And pumpkin your loader are they in shape ?🇺🇸👍🏻?
Actually, my tractors are all in need of some serious attention. We have been working our tails off non-stop for the past year building the new place, and it has taken its toll on us and the equipment....but we're all gettin' there my Friend. -Rick

Hey Guys ! You are living my dream !!!!!! As a teenager my Dad bought just 2 trucks the first was a 1952 chevy 5 window and a 1956 napco 4x4 the engine blew a month after he bought the 52 and the 56 lasted forever until they moved and they gave it away ! So as a body man with two sons I would love to just get a 2wd 55-57 how do I get in touch with you ?
Love the dog never to much of her
do u still have the cuda and dart
Yes. You can contact me through the Classic Truck Rescue Facebook page for details. Thank you, -Rick
would it take a 1970 gmc v8
Yes it would. Thanks Fer Watchin'. -Rick
PS Annabella The Vicious Road Dogg
Yes she is my friend. Thank you and Thanks Fer Watchin'. -Rick
Wouldn't go with a V8 if that truck is going over to France, gasoline is extremely expensive over there. Mild cam in 250 I-6 w/ Gear venders O/D. As of 4/23/21 gasoline is $5.54/gal in Paris, Fr & in Milan, It (northern It) $5.96/gal. Make the truck as efficient as possible.
What's that old tractor from 17:58 to 18:05 behind the red truck?
Sorry what do you mean?
Thanks for info.
I apologize for the comments left by the person with some kind of issues. My viewers deserve better than that and he has been evicted from this Channel. -Rick

Yes, good luck finding one though.
Try some oven cleaner to remove decal glue. guy's here use it on dump truck doors to take the previous owners name off.
