I have been collecting 410 caliber ammo since 2000. This is a very interesting thing))) I correspond with many 410 Caibra owners from all over the world. Exchanging information on 410 caliber. I like it. Желаю тебе метких выстрелов!!!
Turns out you can use Matt's Bullets .41 cal hollow base wad cutters as perfect .410 slugs. Cheap and they fly perfect and straight with 16 grains of 300-MP powder. Give them a try. Just use a nitro card over the powder, a 1/2" fiber cushion wad and then as many nitro cards as needed to get the column height right for your hull.
With an improved modified choke on my AR15 upper , I saw 1.5-2” groups @ 35 yards with the Herters/Winchester 1/5oz slugs just using Magpul MBUS sights. The only drawback is the very dirty powders eventually fouls the BCG causing malfunctions and even the lower gets filthy.
I have three .410s I set up for slugs: Henry lever action, Bear Creek .410 AR 15 , Silver Eagle XT3 and the KelTec KSG. I have tried all these 2 1/2 shells you show. The best accuracy wise have been the Federal, Winchester and Brenneke and the low end Turkish stuff ( Sterling, BPS and AGC) is all horrendously bad, both in function and accuracy. BTW, the Herter is made by Winchester so they are the same I believe.
Why don’t they make longer slugs? You can fit 6 00 buck in a 3 inch so why not a bigger slug in a magnum shell? I’m talking for something like defensive loads for no more than 50 yards. Should be able to fit the equivalent of 2 250(ish) long colt slug out of one, im talking size.
More than likely it’s either because they won’t stabilize well or they’ll make chamber pressure too high if you try to propel a heavier slug at velocities that will stabilize it. It’s probably a physics issues
Thanks for this collab! Looking for a .410 shotgun (my first), so your recent .410 videos have been helpful. It’s funny how often this happens to me with your videos. 🤔

I’ve made a few with 2 balls of 000 buck, and a 9mm hollowpoint in a wad and out of a shotgun they fly pretty straight even without rifling
H-S is "High Strength Hull" , more suitable for reloading.
Yeah the BPS and Fiocchi are not great for reloading

Yeah .410 in an AR upper is dirty.

Yeah Herters and Winchester appear to be the same. And Winchester have been best for me.

Mossberg 500E - reliable. Or a break action, over under or double barrel… even more reliable,
@@crankygunreviews Loving the Mossberg 500 so far, and attainable! Thanks for ALL your info!
@@naughtystep285 the mossy 500 in .410 is a little more difficult to load if you have fat thumbs though.
