- A video from Naval Undersea Medical Institute. Learn what an undersea medical officer does and how you can join Navy Medicine in performing submarine/dive medicine and research.
My uncle was a medical corpsman on Pearl Harbor when it was bombed and did the rest of WWII on a battle ship in the Pacific. He remained in the navy for 30 years and during some of those years he was the only medical officer on a submarine. He never went to college a day in his life yet performed many of the same procedures only a full medical doctor would actually be allowed to do today. After retiring he did about 20 years as a medical officer on an offshore pipe laying barge. Pretty salty old sailor!
I will definitely continue to learn about this position field. Thanks!!!!!
nice video!!
Hey can someone help me out. Does the Special Warfare UMO go on missions with the SEALs or does he just help them medically when they aren't on missions?
A Corpsman who's a SEAL will go with the SEALs, but a physician would not. So just medically, off mission.
When are MedBeds coming to the public?
Does this exist in Philippines?
Does anyone know if this exist in Canada??
zelaznog This does not exist in the Canadian Forces, that's because Medical Officers are a purple trade. You cannot do this all the time in the Canadian Forces.
Is anybody currently an undersea medical officer? I have questions
Can PAs do this
