Thank you for what you do. My Dad was one too. Retired Master Chief Master Diver. He was a Navy Diver in Vietnam and was UDT. He was on sub rescue most of his career. Was also head engineman and ran the hyperbaric camber on the ship and in a hospital after he got out. He wrote a book on hyperbaric medicine. Did a lot of work for the agency while in. RIP Tommy R Berry.

Navy diver now for 10 years and some change. I watched this video before I joined. This kinda hyped it up more then what it is. Hope you like a lot of rules and paperwork with the job. But still best job in the navy I say. Love going to work even still. Still going strong with 9 more years left before I retire.

Great guys, good runs ashore great kit to use, it's better now than when I did it all changed. Good career well I thought so. Good travel join the navy and see the world it's possible even these days with all the defence cuts.

Ezio Auditore Real salvage diving doesn't have anything whatsoever to do with guns nor does it necessitate carrying any automatic weopons at all! They do that for propaganda means in order to recruit young naive men for the Navy. They know that half the young men probably wouldn't even qualify for the TEAMS and that they know nothing about diving careers outside of the Military such as the Merchant MARINES or even diving careers in the Offshore Oil Industry and underwater welding careers in the civilian quaters that has very competitive pay and very lucrative benefits even higher than that of the Navy. Hollywood movies and military commercials get kids in the military recruiting offices every time. They don't even know all of the real options available to them.

His vision is fine, but he needed a second opinion from his eye doctor. I don't think he is going to have any problems with that. However, What he was told at MEPS though, was that rescue swimmers are only enlisted. He had to pick Surface warfare officer (swo) then.

I enlisted about a year ago and have gone through the selection process. it is very hard to get into. they only take several divers a month. you have to have a score of about a 9 min 500 yard swim, around 85 pushup and around 85 sit ups both within 2 minuite period as well as a 1.5 mile run at at time in the neighborhood of 9:30 to get looked at. if you want to do this look up Rodger Roberts. he is the naval special warfare mentor and ex navy seal from my area. he will tell you exactly what you need to do without all the recruiter bs and he will tell you how to train. training is crucial. learn the combat sidestroke and do bodyweight exercises like it's your job.

Maorawrath I'm a rescue, cavern and scientific diver looking to become a Navy diver. You'll be operating in a hostile environment that'll have dramatic pressure changes on your body. A few dangerous things include.
-decompression sickness which can lead to a lot of things including paralysis and even death.
-arterial gas embolism or your lungs bursting
      -ruptured ear drum
      -nitrogen necrosis
      -drowning
      -chlostrophobia
      -wildlife
-operating a torch underwater with a pressurized cylinder on your back which could cause you to explode.
the list goes on and on.
Diving is dangerous but the Navy will teach you to master it. Just remember dont panic. Fear leads to panic and panic leads to your worst fears coming true.
Although it's dangerous if you have the right training and follow the rules diving is awesome. Don't let fear keep you from what you want to do.

@@PeterGNGKyokushinkaikan I'm just curious- what were some of the things you went through in Dive School pre-1999 that you think/know they've changed since? I agree that the standards should not be lowered just because quotas aren't being filled, so I want to know what was failing guys back then that isn't now.

Donna Tobias was the first female diver back in 75, standards have not been lowered, just less mysogynist men in the military, you’re just as bad as extreme feminists
