Btw, sweetie, bears are not native to Connecticut. They were brought in to reduce the deer population. The bears, not the people, are the invaders. Connecticut is not a natural bear habitat.
Unfortunately, once a bear goes after a human they are not considered a candidate for relocation as they go from being a "nuisance bear" to a threat to human life as they have learned humans are a potential food source and will teach other bears. This is commonly seen in the fact that only some area have difficulty with bears breaking into cars looking for food. In most cases a female bear did it and got food generations ago and taught their cubs who taught there cubs. In these areas bears still have the skills to break into cars and the knowledge that they may contain food despite locals not leaving food in their cars in years.

I am going to make that 400 pounder who's been roaming my yard every night this past week VERY uncomfortable if he comes back tonight. Hope it roams into the orchard over the hill. They don't last long in that farmer's trees.
Bear spray is a great tool, they learn to be leery of people after being sprayed. Their comfort in approaching people is the issue, make it uncomfortable and they will keep their distance. Its better for both people and bears to have a healthy and reasonable fear of each other.
I scare the bears away from my house with an air horn, that does it, they get so scared they never come back.
It's no surprise honestly...I mean look at the size of the bear in the thumbnail!
Keep the bear safe? Dude was tweaking for saying that.
They are so cute and clumsy looking but they definitely not cute when there mouth is gripped around your throat
They had no right to kill that bear
I was just waiting to hear that it happened in Simsbury, CT. And yup, no surprise here.
Black bears are heavily populated there.
I was in that town one day and literally saw a black bear across the street coming out of someone's garage.
It's so sad that the bear always loses😢
Instead of BS scare tactics why not warn people about having "off leash dogs" . In this case the media claims the dog was on leash but 50% of all Bear attacks involve unleashed dogs and in 90% of these cases it is a "Dog attack" not a "Bear attack". I have been photographing bears for 15 years now and up until two years ago had my dog with me on 2 leashes. I never once had a bear with or without cubs act aggressively toward me. They seem to know when you have control of your dog.
Relocate the poor bear instead of killing it. They just want to survive and live on earth too. That said, Sorry for the old lady hope she recovers soon
Please take your "#animalsarebetterthanpeople" bs somewhere else. That bear has tasted human blood, which made it a bigger threat.
It is a scientific fact that once an animal attacks people, the individual animal will keep on doing so and thus poses a real danger towards peoples safety. Therefore, such individual animals must be uthenized.
@@ChocoBabiChan Jesus, she's protecting herself, We all need to give space and respect. I know this was an unfortunate mishap, but the poor bear paid for its life. why?!
They keep losing habitat to people who do not want to be near other people.
@MY2 Cent
The population of Black Bears in Connecticut has greatly expanded.
A well managed Bear Hunting season is needed in order to achieve a proportional healthy balance of the Black Bear population so conflicts between human beings and bears are greatly reduced.
Was it on top of her? Or just bit her hand?
There are videos of bears opening unlocked car doors with people inside.
That’s not fair why does the bear have to be euthanized for being itself … that’s what animals do when they feel threatened!! Ppl need to do
More on their part to be safe and thereby keeping the Animals safe. That lady should have known her surroundings and realized that bears are there and can attack
When my ac was broken I had the screen on my door open and a big black bear tried to come in, he was pushing through the screen when my pit scared it away. I'm sure he was just hungry.
Do not let media scaremonger about vital wildlife.
The immense number of innocent individual bears that are cruelly killed every year by human hunters in the U.S. alone is hardly a comparison to a few human lives that are taken every year. Especially when it is us taking everything from wildlife.
Wow, just two hours ago I was thinking about being attacked by a black bear.
I was riding my bicycle home, and I passed by a _Deer Crossing_ sign. So, I was thinking that a bear could be crossing those very same streets. How about that, ey?
I would be scared to death being on a bicycle and seeing a Bear I’d be afraid he would chase after me . Oh hell no 🐻😳😱🥺🐻
😳 she was more worried about the furniture wtf
The lady was in the Bears house!!!!!!!!! why do you kill a bear for just being a bear?😢
Stop killing animals and blaming them when its the humans living close their homes not the other way around
what does a cold bear say? brrrr, brrr..
What does a bear who thinks he is a black cow say?
Moo muthafuckin MOO!
@@KD-nk3ht 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤪
@@KD-nk3ht Cows a Grazing and the Bears a Grizzlying..
The best rule is RIFLE..... Those things are extremely dangerous and should be nowhere around humans
If I was bit and didn’t require hospitalization I wouldn’t tell anyone.
We use to have way too many bears. They killed so many fawns the deer population was low. The mange hit them and I rarely see one now and for the first time in 40 years they did not tear up my bird feeder this spring.
I lived in telluride and the guys in my building were constantly confronting bears in our dumpster, I couldn't believe they'd get with in ten or so feet and yell and throw rocks at it.
Smilesotheylikeyou
They were definitely crazy . That Bear could have come out of that dumpster and ripped his face off . Pissing that Bear off . 🐻😳😱🤪
People built their homes in the BEARS area which has always been part of Their Habitat SO!!!
Avon, CT has a large population of these bears roaming not surprised this is where it happened
Sorry fof her snd the vear but you do not want these bears getting used to seeing people as food.😔
The Bears have to live somewhere people need to stop invading their Territory
Not in Texas... would have been a trophy for a woman here💯
Overly dominant plant species and lack of natural burn, combined with overpopulated white tail deer contribute to a reduction in natural bear foods. This reduction forces animals to get anything that is easy
But hunters will never complain about "overpopulated deer". They like not having to walk far from their car.
"near Hartford": Mr. Beizer is in Simsbury, but WFSB 3 video said Avon?
I’m from Connecticut we don’t have bears, but I live closer to NYC.
Bears were here first!! We are definitely the invaders and this poor bear should not have to pay for our encroachment practices with its poor life!!
Amen to that Jim C and anyone who disagrees is heartless!
Some animal was probably here first where you live but you still live there. You don't have the moral high ground.
Then why don't you call Elon Musk and volunteer to help colonize Mars? Amazing how you see your fellow humans as too inferior to live on this planet but it's ok for you and your family to stay here.
Btw, sweetie, bears are not native to Connecticut. They were brought in to reduce the deer population. The bears, not the people, are the invaders. Connecticut is not a natural bear habitat.
I value human life more than any animal
Why'd they have to euthanize the bear?!?!!! 😢
Give them your address so they can drop him off at your home.
More common because too many people.
That ain't a bear... that his old lady...
That lady was not hospitalized....she didn't want to go to the hospital and her 'bites' weren't bad
And they killed the bear?
If he does it once he will do it again and the next person may not be so lucky.
@@lunerwerewolf How on earth is defending yourself from a dog attack "Discovering Humans are a food source"?? The Bear bit the woman she didn't eat the woman and hunger was not even the motivation for the bite.BTW we don't taste that good. There are 450 thousand bears in North America and over 400 million people and bears only kill 2 of us each year and most of the time without eating us.
Get an air horn can and carry it with you.
Way too many bears
There's nothing for them to eat anymore. People live in their habitats. Food is everywhere where there are people. It's not the fault of the bears.
Bear WARS 🐻
To be honest the humans are unwelcome guest in the bears home 🤷🏾♀️🤷🏾♀️🤷🏾♀️
I live in a retirement community. Someone found a feral hog shot and skinned on one of the trails thru the woodsy areas of the complex.
Nice story Tex.
What's with all these feral hogs in Texas? don't they have fences down there?
WTF, why kill the bear? No reason to kill an innocent animal for existing in his natural habitat. 🤬
And what did the woman do? Did she avoid the bear? Or are we to believe the mama bear just ran up to the woman for no reason?Poor mama bear.
They said she was walking her dog, so the dog probably barked at it. They were all probably startled and trying to defend themselves. Or do you think the woman, a senior citizen ran up to the bear to pet it?
@@carlam4986 No, I think the woman did not use her brains. Then it’s the bear’s fault because people are thick.
@@ccasey1904 I think you have no idea of what you are talking about! You have never lived around bears. I have and still do.
@@mandograssable I grew up around black bears and still live around them! I am VERY tired of irresponsible people causing needless harm and bear deaths! And when I get tired of hearing dump people and bear stories, there is always the crap that goes on at Yellowstone Park.
@@mandograssable And it’s weird: growing up in the Berkshires of Massachusetts, no one got bear bitten out with their dogs!
I feel sorry for the bear, not for encroaching humans. We hunt all their food away and somehow everyone's still shocked when animals...come looking for food? Way too many humans on this earth.
This racial profiling has to stop. You don’t see this same behavior with polar bears. Oh wait. Never mind.
🤣🤣
Humans fault 100%. All we do is destroy animals homes and build our own.
R.I.P Cocaine Bear
The poor bear! 😢
what happened to the dog?
Probably didn't get attacked. Otherwise they would had mentioned that.
Bears have been on this earth for over 20 million years.
They were here first.
Bear "attacks"" are 100% preventable
Protecting and roaming around are what Bears do.

Little word of advice carry bear spray.
