  • Figured it was time to go over the things I love and hate about this saw. In the end, the safety features really outweigh anything else. I’ve had this saw since product launch and have used it every work day since then. I feel like I’ve truly put it through its paces, and I plan on adding another one.

    Awesome can’t wait to purchase mine this year. Definitely a DiY but don’t need to lose any fingers. Thanks for the video

      Totally worth it. I’ve been using a tablesaw for 18 years every day at work and all the old timers saying you just need to be safe are just so wrong. Things happen fast. Might as well be safe about it

    You did a Killer Job reviewing the CTS. I just bought one. Two cuts so far. Thanks for the kick to get the extra BREAK Cartridge. I work in a wheelchair. Way different than you. Thank You much. You did a solid job. I am gratefull!

    Great review. I'd love one but haven't pulled the trigger yet.
    I hear the patient has run out now on the technology and hoping other companies like Bosch will make them and bring the price down.

      Yeah it’s one of those hard things to pull the trigger on. Fingers are priceless though haha. Guess we will see what gets released in the next couple years.

    Thanks for the video. Can you post how u made the adjustment to get part 45 degrees? That seems like a good modification.

    • @topnotchfinishing
      @topnotchfinishing  6 днів тому +1

      When you move it to 45° you’ll see it hit against a piece of plastic. You can dremel/ multi tool out a chunk so it can go further. Can see from inside the plastic it hits

    Really surprised you could still use the blades after activation.. you sure they are ok and appropriate models for the saw? Out of curiosity do you know what blades that were in use on activation? Also what vac do you use on the SS CTS?

      The sawstop blade they comes with the saw is absolute trash. Any 10” blade is fine and should t cause a false start. One was a Diablo and one was a CMT. Right now I use a Ridgid with a dust deputy from Oneida. But I’m changing over to a festool ct48 with cyclone

    Thank you for the great review. Would your opinions change if you were just using the saw in a workshop versus on a jobsite? I have a 14 y.o. avid, novice woodworker. We agree his fingers are priceless and are deciding on which SS model is best. #HandcraftedByLOkey

      In a shop im getting the big boy. Depends on shop size. I’m going house to house so the compact is great. I didn’t like the job site version.

    Ok I subbed. I hope your channel takes off. Make great carpentry content like Spencer Lewis (Insider Carpentry) or Matt at Next Level Carpentry and it will.

      Appreciate the sub. They’re both doing a great job. At the moment it’s just too much. 2 kids under 2.5 and i have 23 houses on the go right now. Life is chaos but i want to get more and more into it. I need to get my watch hours up to actually start being paid so I’m going to try and put some videos up

    How do you feel about the CTS in comparison to the JSS?

    • @topnotchfinishing
      @topnotchfinishing  5 місяців тому +1

      The big table on the JSS is for sure nice. But the fence absolutely kills me. When you’re used to the rack and pinion, there’s no going back. T style isn’t for me and never felt as accurate. The JSS is smoother. But to sum it up….the JSS is for sale and I’m buying 1 or 2 more CTS

      @@topnotchfinishing Thanks a bunch! That definitely tips me towards the CTS :-)

      I have the Sawstop jobsite saw as well as the Sawstop compact saw.
      The dust collection on the JSS is horrible even when connected to a dust collector. The dust collection on the compact saw is ridiculously awesome. It vastly outperforms the JSS even when just using a shopvac.
      The only reason I keep the JSS is because I use it in a Rousseau table with extensions that allow me to cross-cut nearly 50”.
      That being said, I do plan on adapting the Rousseau table to fit the compact saw.
      No regrets on either saw though
