If i had a dime for everytime stuff like that came up
lol the finished hardware should be decided by the home owner. code says one thing. the owner says hey that's not where I wanted that... it happens..
Very true. Most of mine are pre determined by the designer, and she usually wins the argument. So I put it where they want. I don’t always agree. Job is job haha
I assume that you and the painter are friends. Will the painter take the time to remove and replace all of that hardware if you are not coming back?
I can confirm that he did not take off any hardware. Yes he should have.
What does the hardware look like?
Thanks for the video. Can you post how u made the adjustment to get part 45 degrees? That seems like a good modification.
When you move it to 45° you’ll see it hit against a piece of plastic. You can dremel/ multi tool out a chunk so it can go further. Can see from inside the plastic it hits
Wie breit sind die lamellen, der Filz und wie stark. Wir haben mit diesen Scharnieren gearbeitet. Aber unsere Tür geht nicht ganz auf
Door will only open 90° 3/4” thick by 1.5” wide. 3/4” gaps
Doesn’t the door have a handle type of mechanism
No handle
why are you doing that .. that is the Framers Reasonability so is Cabinet backing and any backing or bracing required ..well up here in Canada it is as it is required for framing inspection to pass
Well I live in Canada. Can’t see how you’d need backing for toilet paper to pass inspection lol. Not in bc. I’m doing it to make my life easier
Seems like so much less work. Doesn't the tape act as a clamp though. Do you think overtime with seasonal movement in the wood those miters may open up. Great work as usual. Hopefully ,UA-cam will be profitable for you ,and we can get some instructional videos.
Tape is a clamp, but so is a nail. I’ve already had better results with the 23 gauge than just tape. Long stretches we still tape a bit so glue doesn’t start causing havoc
Clean bro
Appreciate it
Beautiful knob but I think it not being centered on the trim would bug me
Should have been 2 3/8 set back. Not my call
"We provide production equipment."🎉
Oh?
@@topnotchfinishing I have panel laminating machine
Idk if it's the camera angle, but it looks crooked.
I’d go with camera angle
How do you attach them to the wall?
Nails
What kind of invisible lock door did you use?
Single sided deadbolt inside. Closes onto a magnet latch
What are you a commercial for power tools
The pay some of the bills, yes. I hate exactly what I’m doing lol. I show the tools that help me do what I do
Then more power to you, thank you.
Why Americans dont build houses with bricks?
Should ask them
How did you get this approved for code? I have read many places since the head clearance is not enough this would fail.. Would love to do this, so any advice would be much appreciated.
Everywhere has different rules. This was all engineered and approved well before they even dug the foundation. Vancouver Canada.
Thank you for the great review. Would your opinions change if you were just using the saw in a workshop versus on a jobsite? I have a 14 y.o. avid, novice woodworker. We agree his fingers are priceless and are deciding on which SS model is best. #HandcraftedByLOkey
In a shop im getting the big boy. Depends on shop size. I’m going house to house so the compact is great. I didn’t like the job site version.
For $300 it should come with a can opener and flashlight lol
When you use a high end hammer you’ll notice the difference fast. I rocked estwing for 18 years. No going back
@@topnotchfinishingI just put my trusty estwing away in the shed I just got a trimbone too 😂
This is the way!
Love this! I want to do similar for my closet door but it opens inward. How can I get this look for an in swing door?
Same concept. Boards above the door are cut at 45°. The door slats are as well and it closes onto it and connects them
No one cares, just do your work, lol omg such an amazing invention of wait ill just kill myself
Curious to know what brand of hidden door hinges you prefer. I have a project I am working on and will be concealing a laundry room with a hidden door.
I like the Sugatsune e190 the most
Where can I buy these hinges from?
I am trying to add a skirt board to the end of my stairs but having a hard time figuring out the angles for the top and bottom end.. any tips?
If you have IG, look up the same name. I’m there I have saved stories in my highlights for stair skirting. Step by step
Hi. Is this a motorised drawer? Can you share the link?
It is not
@@topnotchfinishing I see. You just reversed the video. Clever!
And I pulled it out with dental floss 😂
Fake it till you make it 😄
😅😅😅
🙃🙃🙃
yikes. supreme confidence
We scribe hundreds of feet of baseboard a job. Just second nature
I bought a 12ah battery and it doesn’t fit my drills can you help me out why please
I’ll try my drills and get back to you. 12 may be overkill for a drill. I’d use an 8ah max. 12 is for the table and miter saw
See you next Tuesday to fix it again.
See you then
They just press into place? No other securing needed? I’m looking for something that opens a door like this to do an outward opening invisible slat door.
I’m just showing the fit. They get screwed in. This is for a slat wall hidden door
А плями?
Dirty construction hands
This is clean. I want to do this in my bedroom just for fun
Do it !
It’s unfortunate but you can definitely see where repeated grabbing of the side has left fingerprints on the wall/door I wonder is it matte paint or will that happen no matter what paint you use due to the oils on the fingers?
Sadly this isn’t up to me. It’s also used by dirty trades (like myself). These should all be cabinet grade paint. Would help a lot.
I knew it was a door!! Now hide something like a ...fridge
Challenge accepted 😂
@@topnotchfinishing Refrigeration Obfuscation ...I mean "cool"
How do you get out??
There’s a button inside and it releases the door
Run...screaming!!
Why is it like than in the first place? And you can always skip the tape and glue and hammer, clean the bottom of your shoe/boot and kick it
I never installed it. Seems quite common though.
That's cheating 😂
Gotta do it
Can a door like that in a different setting can be open by someone on the inside of the room?
Yeah, just push it. For rooms I’ll have a single sided deadbolt and a dummy handle.
Hello, how do you do panel near hinges? when i open my door panel hits another panel
Have concealed hinges? The slat had to sit on top of another slat basically. Opens to 90°
is that just wood glue on the backs??? do you find that holds well
Yeah. Yellow glue. And trust me it works well. Removed many pieces over the years haha
Do you have a video showing how to build the mantel drawer itself?
I do not. It’s basically a drawer with a floating shelf attached to it. It’s quite simple
You did a Killer Job reviewing the CTS. I just bought one. Two cuts so far. Thanks for the kick to get the extra BREAK Cartridge. I work in a wheelchair. Way different than you. Thank You much. You did a solid job. I am gratefull!
I really appreciate the kind words! Glad I could help with your decision
Where did you buy the docker with magnetic?
Docking drawer. There is no magnetic latch
What kind of handle do you use to make sure it closes solid but isn’t visible from the outside? All I can think of is a cabinet clicker type thing and a bolt lock on the inside?
It’s a Sugatsune magnetic push latch. Very strong
Do you use a deadbolt for the inside or some sort of latch lock? I’m winging it for the first time and figuring it out as I go. Door is in great, just figuring out how to add a lock (for a bathroom) and also wondering how to position the panels so they don’t rub when it’s open
@@aroundtownsneaks9626 I used a single sided deadbolt from emtek. It will open to 90° if your gap is bigger then the piece. So let’s just say your slat is 9/16, your gaps would be 5/8
Thank you! Why doesn't anyone say anything about the noises
Think it sounds weird?
0:00
Oh?
Hi. Do you have a video on the process? Did you add another layer of drywall to close the gap?
More info on my IG. They used a trimtex bead up to my wood to create the shadow
Hope you never get a flood
Least concern 🤣
I really hope you patched that drywall back up and didnt just base over it. 😂. Better hope that house never catches fire.
Yeah. Re boarded it, tape and sanded then painted
@@topnotchfinishing good job for going the extra mile moving the box and then patching it back up brother. 👍😎. You never know what you're going to see on YT lol.
A little tip . Use a shorter screw bit in the driver then you won’t need such a big hole to fit it in 👌
Oh thanks 😂
