- Destiny 2 The Final Shape - Solo Legendary Campaign Mission "Iconoclasm" - Mission #7 Full Completion Gameplay. Just a video showing my first solo playthrough completion of the campaign on legend difficulty, the seventh mission Iconoclasm.
Technically not the true "final mission", but the final for this part of the campaign. After the raid is beaten the remaining campaign missions will unlock, but for now this is the ending mission.
I will be taking the first clears a bit slower as I go through. As always, I won't post any major story spoilers in the thumbnails outside of mission names.

When I first came into this mission on legendary difficulty, I emoted on witness “gave em a low score” and got one shot by his attack into oblivion, worth it

SERIOUSLY! How shocked Ikora sounds remarking that it's wounded and how the beast *immediately* turns on you. The boss fight and cutscenes afterward are incredible.
@@St1mi It is, and shows too how scared the Witness was starting to get because NOW we had the means to end it thanks to the Dissenters within it, but also showing how angry it had to be at being able to be hurt for the first time in centuries.

When the main antagonist and villain finally loses their cool after keeping in check for so long. Never will not be satisfying.
Yeah, and also the fact the Witness is SUPER SCARED because we were able to do something to it that hadn't happened to it in centuries-- we made it *HURT.* We learned the way to FINALLY destroy it once and for all and end its terror on the universe.

This mission was an absolute nightmare to beat Solo. Weavers literally gave me PTSD but using Briar's Contempt worked out nicely.

Honestly this campaign was great and its so unfortunate that a lot of people's first experience, mine included, was so held back by the amount of error codes.
Over 314k people tried to log in at the same time on steam alone. Now imagine every platform. I completely understand that the servers failed. Not a single game company could have prepared for this
@@Jerry69236hmm maybe giving them a little too much credit. Even if it was 1mil users it is absolutely possible. What it comes down to is cost versus return. The cost does not give a big enough financial return.
What could have made it a lot better is if we had a cinematic viewer.
The biggest issue is people missing out on critical cutscenes and not even knowing they have.
@@Jerry69236 Lightfall had a similar number and was much smoother. Now, that’s not to say that I didn’t expect this, or that they could have been prepared in such a way that there were NO error codes, but I find it hard to believe that they couldn’t have prepared at least a bit better.

I do enjoy the difference here from Forsaken- here, due to getting to know Crow, Cayde was sincere while he was being sarcastic to Uldren before he pulled the trigger.

Oh yeah, and illustrated the Witness may have much control of its fusion BUT that it’s afraid, afraid of what we can do as well as others choosing their own fate. And how for how much it hated the Traveler, the Witness FEARS it too because it fails to understand what life is truly about, and how the Traveler may spread a lot of it, but does it as is the nature of life-- to spread, to move, to grow. Basically to quote Ian from Jurassic Park 1, "Life finds a way".

@@PanoptesDreams Oh, yeah, for sure, which is what I loved about him asking Crow how Mara was, given when he said it before he died, he was trying to crack a joke like he usually would, but the sincerity in his voice there is wonderful, especially since he's likely heard from Crow about Mara being alive for the time he's been in the Pale Heart.
@@BryonYoungblood I disagree with that last half. Cayde clearly has no idea what's going on with Mara. It is a warzone, pleasantries have not been exchanged. Otherwise it completely undermines this moment.

Holy shit! I love the change in the Witness' voice in the penultimate cutscene, when it finally stops playing with its food, so to speak.
It also shows us how pissed it is that we can hurt it now, and it’s more afraid in that anger too!

Little guy knows the stakes and how easily the Witness can crack a Ghost open like an egg, but doesn't hesitate at all with that line.

Brett dalton dit an anwesome job voicing the witness. You can hear him faintly when he is calm, but in his ragy moments you can hear im very clearly. There is something really neat how he pronounces certain words with this gravitas. Really splendidly acted!
This campaign had the most mechanics in the history of Destiny. Damn near a raid for most of the mission.
And thats the only thing that sucked about it. Everything else was good though.

Esoterickk, I just wanted to say thank you concerning the warlock skill choice. Once the light blub went off seeing you could summon arc buddy plus a bleak watcher, that changed everything, concerning Legendary solo run. Legendary was kicking my butt and I was barely hangin on but that was a game changer. Thank you for sharing, much appreciated.
Red death, mountain top, and edge transit made this entire expansion a breeze, absolutely loved it

Man this was probably my favourite mission ever. Did it solo and had such a blast. The second wave is no joke.

Yeah! His takedown of Savathun is still one of the highlights of his voice lines in recent years! I bet Nolan North had a lot of fun when he was recording that dialogue, expressing all the pain Ghost has known in the centuries he looked for us, acknowledging all the Hive has done, even if the Witness manipulated them to its side by lying to them, with his mentioning Crota and the Great Disaster, Oryx when he came for revenge while bringing the Taken with him, what Savathun did to the Awoken and the Dreaming City by further exploiting Riven after Oryx took her during his campaign, and what Xivu Arath did by killing Sagira while Osiris was tracking her and her Wrathborn in Season of the Hunt.
Plus Brett Dalton was awesome with his delivery at his irritation at Ghost saying how Targe was right, as well as trying to NOT snap when Targe said he sensed fear from the Witness before he was killed by it.
Sick campaign with some really iconic missions and intense difficulty. You can tell they put a lot of effort in. Really felt like a true ultimate ending to the saga
cant judge the story as there's still lots to come but man
art , environment, sound design , visual effects its all top fucking notch even more so than usual all those teams COOKED
unrelated to the campaign, but the UI buffs/debuffs rework is also so cool and a much needed change, i'll still wont be playing because i cant just sink all my life into this game again i have responsabilities but man , im so impressed by everything

The same thing happened to me, but bc they kept skipping cutscenes, the campaign said I didn't complete 2 missions after we just completed them
I hate that Dread elites have damage resistance to non-critical damage. Basically punishing you for using any weapon that can’t do critical damage like swords, rocket launchers, glaives, supers…
That’s where your buffs and debuffs come into play.

I KNEW we'd get an appearance by Savathûn. I feel like she will be a big part of the raid, enemy of my enemy and all that
There is a mission unlocked after the raid, so I guess we'll see her as an ally there.
She’s like Spider, a transactional ally but FAR from a friend.
We still dont know nothing about her sister, xivu arath must make appearance in the raid so we can kill her, or at least in the episode of heresy(3rd) or i dont see reason why we fought her so much even made her vulnerable
@@whoaruXivu is still out there and weakened severely after Eris severed her from her Throne World, and I’m sure we will see her and deal with her at some point in the future.
I'm just sad we can't hug Micah-10. I've wanted to do that ever since Beyond Light.

I’m glad this campaign was so damn good, too bad the servers were just the big issue, making it a terrible experience to enjoy this new expansion at the start

@EggyWeggyIII Unfortunately there's already huge misinformation regarding the expansion. Some UA-camrs that dedicate their channels to leaks are saying BS like the campaign is nothing but running errands for the Vanguard and that reintroducing Cayde was rushed and had no meaningful moments with Ikora and Zavala...

It’s obvious that you kinda are running errands for the vanguard, every mission you’re just being told what to do by ikora, cayde or Zavala. Even the base d2 campaign had missions where you truly had no idea what could happen next.
@Benny_B0O0 Yes it is misinformation when they say that Cayde's introduction was rushed, barely any cutscenes with Cayde, Ikora and Zavala, no emotions between the three. The missions are hardly errands, we're not out there collecting planetary materials, having to scan random objects, having to do random patrols. Opinions are one thing but telling his viewer base stuff like this like its a fact and telling his viewers to expect being dissapointed on the missions is another thing
@@soraxstacy1477 I mean it’s obvious Caydes introduction was rushed. Gotta be blind to not see the signs. Half the cutscenes with him are reused from forsaken for nostalgia bait. His return alone shows now any character can return. There’s no risk, and character deaths no longer matter (not that undrens return didn’t already start to ruin the big wow of character death). No series that recurrently brings back killed off characters has longevity. His return harms/stagnates the story, other characters, and removes any emotional depth associated with him. I suggest reading any popular series that handles character deaths, even Harry Potter. Character deaths cause other characters to flourish and mature, making it easier for gamers in this case to relate and bond with them. These numbskull story decisions by bungie continue to permanently ruin the series.

Great upload Eso 👏 iv just completed the campaign solo on Legend apart from one part the witness 😂 Absolutely loved this campaign and it did get harder as u go along so it was a challenge on parts 😤 The scenery was stunning 😍 Well done bungie my money was well spent 👏 im still experiencing error codes mind and being thrown back to orbit witch was a pain when u gotta start all over again 🙈 Well Done Eso u made it look a breeze 😂

Zavala, after you've been one-manning the entire evil consciousness, adds, and dodging heat-sinking knife one-shot atttacks and the Traveler drops a little dagger you can play with for all of 18 seconds: "GUARDIAN, YOU GOTTA GET BACK IN THE DARKNESS!"

It has been a long time since I played this game. Is it me or is this campaign mission structured like a raid? Is this kind of thing common in the Final Shape campaign?
I'm pretty sure a lot of the mechanics in this campaign are going to be in the raid it's kind of a get you ready set up kind of
This whole campaign feels like a tutorial for the raid.

30:00 - When I did this on Legendary Solo, I genuinely did not know about the "Granted Light" buff allowing you to sustain your shield through the entire attack. I never saw that spot on the floor. I just found cover, tanked the storm, waited until I was in the red, and then guarded with the Aegis to last out the remainder.
I loved when the Witness said "This isn't even my Final Shape"

Indebted kindness made this a cakewalk lol. Final boss is easy with a good build and patience. Key is to sit in the back and play it slow. You'll beat it in a few tries if you just take your time at the end

Just too good of a campaign
This was the first campaign I just decided to do it on legendary and finished it with minimum bruising. I do pretty much everything solo. A bit shy I guess.

Lucky pants saved the day for me solo. Build crafted into a Prismatic build and it carried me all the way, I see why they are disabled for the day1 experience

Did the entire campaign without an issue on legend solo but the moment I reached the very final boss area I was screwed, ended up going for MM and even then it took us 3 attempts on legendary 😄. Legend on this mission is no joke.
Beat it my fourth try! Definitely recommend a machine gun or linear in the power slot
when I played this mission, my witness was bugged when I grabbed the sword the final time. It just stood there on the ground directly, without the special effects. and their cloak or head was bufged similar to a hunter cloak sometimes. But since it was only so late, it wasn't a cheap victory thankfully
The only thing I didn't understand, is Cayde fully revived, as in he can get out of the Traveler and go back to the Last City or is he only a part of the Traveler and can't get out of it? We know he is Lightless but other than that, do we know anything other than the fact that Crow wished him back to life?

Man I’m glad that I was able to finish this on legendary, but there are encounters that feel straight up unfair. Like goddamn. I do not feel compelled to do so again on my titan or warlock.

I gave up on this mission after four hours. It felt like I was soloing a damn raid encounter. That’s coming from someone who’s beaten all the raids no problem. There are just way too many annoying tedious things you have to do with so little checkpoints.
Are you able to get to the final boss atleast? Because once you do take your time don’t rush it
