My armour has a really easy neck trim that looks great. Its a car door rubber seal that pressure fits right on my Spat kit. Not screen accurate, but so easy to fit on.
The easiest, fastest, and least expensive fix to the ear flap, is using 1 or 2 USMC "Boot Bands". It doesn't require any modification, and can be installed in less than 1 minute. If someone doesn't already have these, they can be picked up at a PX for $1 or $2. I posted about this on the forums about 10 years ago, but I suspected that it was deleted. So I made a video of it today: ua-cam.com/video/Q2taS-mbRUM/v-deo.html
Awesome collection and video. I've been looking at Spat's armor set for a while but after finding out about being able to purchase from Terry English I've been debating if it's worth the price.
Terry's facebook page is still listing a complete, ready to wear set at 2,500GBP. May have to check the latest currency conversions to see what the final cost is and I believe international tracked shipping was around $100 more. Overall, if you value a work of art created by the original artist, there is no comparison. A 3rd option is to look up Chef's Creations. The man running that, Rob, actually works with Terry directly. He makes the soft parts (ab pads, straps, pouches) and IR sights for Terry, but also runs his own business. He is also in England. He does vac-formed armor kits, and as you might imagine due to his close relationship with Terry his stuff is VERY accurate while not being as expensive as hand-hammered metal.
I can confirm, as a proud owner of a set, that the proper aluminum armor Terry English makes is beyond awesome. How often do you have the opportunity to get the 'real deal' from one of the best movies of all time, made by the original artisan?
I have never personally owned a set, but I am pretty impressed with what I have seen. Chef has a close relationship with the original creator of the screen used sets, Terry English. So it is not a surprise that his vac-formed sets are arguably the most accurate out there.
Thanks! And rest assured it found a good home and is being well cared for! If you had any other details on its lineage/ownership history, I would love to know more.
Fair play that camping matt technique is genius. Well done, and thanks for sharing.
Great tuts!! Can’t wait to do the camping mats for my TE upgrades. Thanks!

I hear Terry English does custom one-offs.
