At the back if it all Rory was truly a good person. He seems like a really cool person, nothing showy or fancy. Just did what he wanted to do and played to people who waanted to listen. Some of the most remarkable people can be very understated.
I am very glad to see and "meet" you by youtube interview though, you are gone... my grandmother's family, Gallagher-name, came from donegal, in 1811 , to america, ohio area... wonderful to see a Gallagher!!! from same are!! Congratulations, as to a great career, and love for the old blues! Táim beannaithe agus sásta gur fhoghlaim mé fút❤🎉☘️☘️☘️... condolences to all your friends and loved ones, that miss you, now, in this world... go raibh MILE maith agat, for: simply just BEING you, and following your heart... amen 🙏
That interviewer , Gay Byrne, was one of the best in the world, never too fond of his own voice he would let the guest take the lead if possible. Also he promoted Irish artists as much as possible and had Rory on the show many many times. Rory knew Byrne well and I believe they were friendly. This interview for some reason seems very muted and I don't think it's the same audio stream that went out live, but I'd be certain that Byrne was not being snobby and also that Rory was not having a dig at him. I have a big regret not getting to see Rory that year.
Don’t think he’s so drunk as you make it. My conclusion is that he was extreme introvert even though he liked to talk and elaborate. His end was a combination of complications and an infection after an operation. Yes a liver operation but he suffered from travel anxiety and was prescribed medication and that wasn’t good together with alcohol 😢 In the end of the day he was only a man and he couldn’t handle some fears
A master of the guitar . And a very humble person.
Beautiful soul
What a humble and simple guy he was. He was one of the best guitar players ever lived!
Soft speaking voice....❤❤❤❤
A quality gentleman, gifted and so talented. All he wanted to do was entertain us. RIP Rory, we miss you!
" I wasn't too snobby about it" About everything I think...so glad you were "turned on" Rory... listened to and missed every day xx

Best guitar player in the history of the world!
Instantly loved his playing and hes so humble and modest. RIP Rory😢
Still one of the best ❤️
"...you're a busy little lad aren't you?"
No Gay, he's a fucking virtuoso, you spanner!
That needled me too. What a weasel.
@@iainb1577 complete knob, Rory was the best
I'd forgotten just how fucking condescending an interviewer Gay Byrne was. Speaking to Rory like he's some teenager with a guitar.
Well said...😒
Really disgusting
Hear,hear.
Condescending is a perfect way of putting it. I wanted to punch him and knock him off his effin' perch. It's the Irish in me. 😂
Thank you for this interview Snippet.
A musicians musician. Especially guitarist's.
Bless you Rory ❤
One of the best! So sorry he passed at such a young age.
Such a genius, damn!!! A great guy just by hearing his honest tone of voice.
Como não amar, admirar e respeitar Rory Gallagher!
Excellent 👌

The man was so good we couldn't be content with him being Irish, we had to argue what county claimed him. One of the best.
What a nice fella.
Rory was much more engaging than the interviewer. I'm glad he brought up the word "snobby." A slight dig, maybe. 😂

He never lost the Ulster lilt.
Poor ol’ Rozzer 😢
He is absolutely pickled drunk. So sad how many people allow booze to destroy their lives. His fault. Completely.
