First time hearing this song. It’s awesome.
I believe artists like Rory Gallagher
Will produce artists like Rory Gallagher as long as they have talent like Rory Gallagher
Good night
Nice Neil, in total agreement👍👍👍👌👌👌😊
WILLIAM RORY GALLAGHER !
The real deal right there. No fakery or Auto tune . Guitar amp and pure talent . I once asked Albert Lee the guitarist about Rory when they recorded with Jerry lee lewis . Alberts face lite up and his face said it all. Rory was the real deal and was in total control of the guitar . God bless him
.......and that rhythm section!!!
You bet!
Gerry Mcavoy was Rory`s perfect Bass player. Also played with Alvin Lee. One of the best players of the time. A rock legend.
He’s a AMAZING Bass player 💯💯
Absolutely! tight like clockwork. Even in slower songs no dragging (= bass/drums slightly after the beat). Is quite hard to do. Lot of professional bass players can not do that. To my opinion Rory could shine on stage because of the rock solid rhythm section.
Did you know Gerry made a solo record? Worth listening.
He’s AMAZING.
There's another live version of this song, where Gerry has a Bass solo
No computers. No backing tracks. Pure. Saw him twice, front row center both times.
Ghungha , are you complaining about computers when you are using a computer to comment? lol You fool.
@@tomakafrankconlon3207 I’m complaining about how computers have eliminated the need for any talent to create music, you dim witted pencil neck geek.
@@eglide73 Sure Ghugha. They were using backing tracks and since the 50s . Guitar effect pedals are comupters in away and have been around since the 60s; Rory is using chorus and compressor pedals here too, Yes Ghungha you are a fool.
@@tomakafrankconlon3207 Wow, I never knew my wah pedal was actually a computer. Cool. So how do I hook it up to a computer monitor so I can go on Facebook while I'm playing Voodoo Chile?
@@meself349 I know you are not overburdened with intelligence but even you should know that both compression and chorus pedals that i mentioned above have IC's in them . Now run along you dumb troll .
As a Irishman,66 years old, I got into Rory at eighteen I was blown than as I am now. Gerry, the best bassist of all time❤
The most talented, beautiful, brilliant man ever. I feel bad for folks that don't know about rory.
Gone too soon.
Rest in musical peace
@@BassHeartRiffs ....we are speaking of Rory Gallagher the Irish guitar God. Not as well known as Clapton but a better guitar player. He died young from stomach problems. If you google him you will find a wealth of amazing music.
I hope you look him up. You will not be disappointed.
Rory for heaven's sake not Roy. Wake up sister!
@@izaklitwar1509 ...omg...I didn't even see my mistake please forgive me...
RORY RORY RORY
The bassplayer is very deep in the pocket. Superb playing.
Gerry can play!!! No doubt...
Timeless, brilliant the great Rory G, for ever!!👍👌
he has to be one of the greatest ever
This is my go to for detaching... the Montreux Festival version is even better!
Rory was the complete self-sufficient rocker, had every guitar skill at his disposal. Also an awesome slide and acoustic player.
I have to watch this performance of Bad Penny at regular intervals, otherwise I start getting withdrawal symptoms. The way Rory played here and how he added all those subtle little nuances just with the volume and tone pots is just magical. ❤And can we talk about what a MONSTER bass player Gerry McAvoy is? 🤩
That bass is killer 3:25
Addicted to this video, Rory was such a brilliant player but the whole trio is spectacular. A truly great performance
The "Live in Montreux" vid is even better!
@@bart-d3208 Montreaux doesn't have any of the material off of "Top Priority" though like this or "Philby"
He’s made his name already, RIP my brother.
