First of all you pronounced Viharfelho - which means Stormcloud - pretty well, and it's water resistant after drying! Kaweco Smokey Grey is a long time favorite of mine, and I absolutely love Diamine Ghost and... Lavender Frost, as well! 😍😍😍
I am considering purchasing thePelikan M670 warm gray pen when it releases soon and I’ve been looking for some gray ink ideas. I think muddy swamp and alpha and are two great options. Thank you for the awesome video!
The Akkerman label is not spelled correctly. It should say 'Hofvijver', meaning 'court(yard) pond', the name of a pond next to parliament, in this case. 'Grijs' is grey. English pronounciation would be something like: hoff-vifer grice. The g should be pronounced like the Spanish j.
For the pronunciation of foreign languages you can always go to google translate, type it in and click on the sound icon to listen to it. I honestly wouldn't even know how to explain the pronunciation of 'Hofvijver Grijs'... maybe something like hof-fiver for the first word, but then the second word is kinda difficult... the Dutch 'G' is the infamous hard G that is in our language, and the 'ij' is again similar to the sound you make for the 'i' in the word 'fiver'. Oh, guess I did find a way to explain. Kinda. Most of the (standard) Akkerman inks are inspired and named after streets/places/sights/etc in the city The Hague which is where their store is, and also where our government is situated. The Hofvijver grijs ink is inspired by the murky water that surrounds the government buildings, specifically the office (called 'Torentje' which just translates to little tower) of the prime minister is adjacent to and overlooks the 'Hofvijver'
I have recenbly been delving into the Octopus Fluids line of their weird animal series and their greys are waterproof which are great for artestry or painting and putting on envelopes so maybe if you're looking for a perminant ink check those ones out :)
Ooh my little pronunciation tip is the the L’ in l’artisan is just pronounced as an L sound, no vowel. It’s pronounced all together as one word like “lartisan”. Vowel sounds are a whole other ballpark and I don’t really expect people to perfectly pronounce languages they don’t speak
I love grey!!!! Thanks Danielle 🤩 I have Silver Fox, I am a Cat, Downpour, Silver GRey - love 'em 👍 I also have April Showers, Earl Grey, Madam Mulberry from your first list & naturally now I have a few additions to my wish list 😂🙂
Lovely inks! I find myself drooling over the Birmingham inks in swatching videos, need to try them, just look at that color! 💟 You made a really good attempt pronouncing "Viharfelhő" ( it's Hungarian, means storm-cloud) Ő at the end is like "eugh" - or something rather similar, there isn't really an equivalent sound in English. Saw someone getting mad over Hungarian and Indian ink names, like "what's up with these weird names..." Not weird, just another language😌 I have FWP Adventurine, it is with rose gold shimmer, I like it, but clogged my M nib... LOVE your videos
Thank you!! Language is beautiful and I find it so fun to learn the correct way to say the names. Adventuring is a lovely color! I'm sorry it clogged your nib :(
I discovered Dominant Industry when I accidentally found the Philosopher's Stone ink. Then I had to get Seraphinite. Solar freakin active. They change at different paces.
I am cat matches your washi tape so well. Like they were meant to be side by side. The sailor ink looks like Sailor Seki that I have, but the Seki is more gray. Would be interesting to do an ink comparison of the two. I love the shading on the sample above Sailor too! This was fun to watch!
Gris is basically said gree. Sounds almost like going "skree skree" lol. Bonus points if you can get some gutteral roll in the r but the French don't really expect us to get it, it's hard to learn to do if not learned in early childhood.
@divinedorothy If you get an ink syringe, it's super easy to rinse and refill cartridges from bottles! Just don't want you limiting your range of possibilities!

So cool!!! You have great taste in grey inks Deb! 🥰
Pelican Edelstein Moonstone isn't yet sold out everywhere and is a beautiful shader. I feel like it's a pretty neutral grey.
Thank you for sharing!! I will check it out 😊
Perfect timing. It started storming and raining where I live and it’s been so grey outside. Maybe some grey ink will cheer me up!
Wonderful! Grey ink is great for stormy days ;)
Love this! I was just looking for my next grey ink, this is great inspiration
Glad it was helpful!

Whoa!! You picked some neon colors! 😊
Love grey; recently added two Irosikuzu grey’s both lovely. Any that shade well usually catches my attention. Broody is beautiful. 😊
Great choices!
I like the Dominant Industry gray and the Monteverde. I have Silver Fox and it’s not my fav. A bit light.
Thank you for sharing and watching!!
This is a great comparison! Downpour is one of my faves. I also love Birmingham Smokebox.
It's so good! I haven't tried Smokebox but the online swatch looks amazing!
A fellow Texan, yay! I really love your videos I wish I could be as organized and well spoken on fountain pen inks.
Thank you so much!! Glad to see more Texans loving fountain pens 😊

It does! How fun! I didn't even notice haha. Sailor Seki is gorgeous!! I think you're right that Seki is a bit more grey :)

On the hunt for my first grey! Thanks for sharing. I like that you go back to the swatches you did in other videos too.
You are so welcome! I hope you find a grey you are looking for!
Great video! Love gray inks. Not a fan of shimmer but that I am A cat was amazing.
It is so cool! I find that grey's usually have a silver shimmer so it is nice to have one with gold 😊
😻 I Am A Cat 😻
Such a gorgeous one!
Yes, I fall very easily for Wearingeul inks! 😁 I only have one so far (Enki) and hope to get Faust as the next one. 🥰
Yay! I’m so happy it got to you! Sterling Silver is a favorite of mine.
I love it!! I'v already started mixing some stuff and I love how it adds a "dusty" feeling to some of the colors 🥰
That’s such a good way to put it!
I have a kaweco sport pen and the smokey grey is so far my favourite 🩶 thank god they come in cartridge form! I'm adding it to my wishlist too 😊
Very nice! The cartridges are so nice for those little pens.
