I love when March comes around and everyone breaks out the green inks for spring. I’m also from northern Alberta and I’m pretty tired of the winter gloom by February. Beautiful swatches, I’ll def be picking up a few of these.
Hello fellow Albertan! Yes, we're in fake spring right now, as this coming weekend it's supposed to get down to -13C. Yuck.
That bright green Private Reserve Spearmint reminds me of male eclectus parrots, they are that kind of green 🦜
Oooh I never thought of that. May keep that for future parrot paintings!
I love listening and watching your video..
it's like enjoying a Fountain pen ink ASMR video..LOL
thank you for sharing *KarynaLovesToPlan*
Glad you enjoyed it!
I’m swatching my greens today. I have about a dozen bottles (including Inkvent from 2 years). I have a lot of green samples. I think I’m about to order Birmingham Sugar Kelp. But waiting to see how all my swatches look. My favorite was Birmingham Gunpowder Tea, but I only have a sample and it’s no longer made. It’s close to Sugar Kelp, I think! I’ve made some homemade mixes that are close. It has a fluorescent component that gives it a special glow. Goose Poupon is a more muted version.
I think I need to get samples of Olive Swirl, though it’s close to Colorverse Gluon. And that Colorverse alpha Pisces? Looks interesting to me. I have Diamine Meadow and it’s one of my favorite grassy greens. I really like Diamine Golden Ivy. It’s a darker green. But the gold shimmer shows up nicely and lightens the look.
So many new greens to add to my list, but Goose Poupon is one that I've wanted to try for a while!
Green is my favorite color and I have started to build up quite a collection of green inks! FWP knitted nettle is a new favorite of mine, it shimmers so beautifully and I love a nice pthalo green. But my favorite “everyday” green inks so far are Birmingham pen co chlorophyll and de atramentis Jane Austen. Both very dependable with good shading. I think diamine cappadocia is going to have to be on my list next though, it’s gorgeous
Thanks for sharing!!
Thank you for sharing. I currently love green inks! 🌿🌿🌿
WE are, in deed, kindred spirits.... love, love, love your ink(y) explorations... especially "our" favorite shade(s) (browns too, as that is another shared fav).... That Chiku-rin is stellar. Thank you for this and all your content. So needed, and just what I want even before I realize I do, lol. Stay safe.
Yes! And brown inks will have to be shared another day!
I have a ton of greens too! I just swatched my whole ink collection and I have 19 greens. The Cappadocia and Merry and Bright are two of my favorites, and if you’ve never used TWSBI Emerald Green, it’s a good solid medium green. It’s one of my favorites too.
Thank you! Greens can easily overtake a collection, and I've never tried TWSBI inks - adding one to the list!
What a beautiful collection of Greens you have! 💚
My very first samples were greens and purples. I got: Sailor Shikiori-Miruai,Monteverde-Olivine, J. Herbin-Vert Empire, Robert Oster- Avocado., Alt-Goldgrün.
The Herbin Vert Empire is so pretty that I bought a bottle, it’s a lighter more muted green leaning grey (you better check how it looks 😅-you might like it).
I love love the Colorverse Alpha PSC every time you use it in your videos, and Pilots Chiku-Rin.
I need to try Vert Empire and Monteverde Olivine!! Thanks for sharing!
@@KarynaLovesToPlan You’re very welcome. I like Monteverde, too, but haven’t found the right pen for it to enjoy- if that makes sense 😅
Vert Empire works every time beautifully.
I have 32 green inks between bottles and samples, but my favorites are: Diamine Classic Green, Vinta Leyte, Robert Oster Green at Night, Robert Oster Sydney Darling Harbor, Jacques Herbin Emerald of Chivor, and Rohrer & Klingner Sketch Ink in Emma.
I have Robert Oster Sydney Darling but don't know why I didn't include it in here!!
Nice collection. I’ve got under 10 greens in my collection. For me, what stands out is Private Reserve Avocado, very matte and reminds me of poster colors..like an acrylic feel. Diamine Sherwood is another I like, I’ve got two samples years apart and the newest one is like A deep forest green with some shading capabilities.
Thanks for sharing! Those are great recommendations!
Try Diamine Serendipity. Really beautiful teal green with copper shimmer.
Adding to my list! Thank you!
Hi Karina, so nice to see so many greens on one page, I’m also a sucker for a good green!! My favorite is Papier Plume Moss Green, but since I’m totally into the light pale shades, my current fave is Wearingeul Vayu! Legible? No lol, but I still adore it! You got me tempted to get basil pesto and Tom Sawyer now!!! I recently made a mix of mainly Dominant industry Snowfield with a drop each of Diamine steel Blue and Twsbi prairie green, that turned out great.. bright and fresh! Happy Sunday evening and happy writing! ✍️🖋️🌸 Dag
Ooh I love hearing about custom mixes! And yes I tried Vayu - great for artwork, awful for writing!
@@KarynaLovesToPlan of course I got a bottle.. 🤭🤷♀️…
Its so funny, all the ones you love are the one's I like least (except for Cappadoccia lol) Most of them look brown or blue to me. Wild how the eye sees things.
Haha no way?! I promise these are all green!
Just found your channel and this video intrigued me. I'm generally not a fan of green but I might be persuaded to try one or two of the Pilot and Ferris Wheel variants. Great stuff and it's good to challenge my comfort zone / prejudices.
Go for it! Green has so many variants to try.
Thought you'd also like the Benu Easter Bunny hand painted Limited to 100 pens, a tad pricey though... , You might as well go down rabbit hole with this one ! Appreciate your passion for pens
Thank you! Thankfully, Benu (while beautiful) is not the most comfortable pen for me so I am not tempted!
Not that you need an excuse for more ink but... I think you might enjoy FWP Misguided Mistletoe. I got it recently for my birthday and I love it! Its kind of a green version of Edwards Garden: green base, gold shimmer and reddish sheen depending on the paper. I also have Diamine Meadow, I think it makes for a really nice base green like you said. I've been considering some other FWP inks in my persuit of a mossy green colour but not gotten my hands on those yet!
Thank you for the video! It’s so nice to see everything swatched😍. I’m quite confused with BPC ‘s Antique Sepia. I have that ink as well, but it swatches more green… (closer to the color of Basil Pesto) with the same pink undertones. I swatched under the exact same conditions as you (kakimori brass nib, 52 gsm Tomoe River paper). Your swatch has so much blue in it - I think it resembles Celadon Cat. I’m guessing it must be different batches? If there’s any insight that could be offered by anyone, my curious mind would be much obliged!
I'm very happy to see a green ink video. It's my favourite ink colour & one of my two fav over all colours (along with purple)
I have many green inks & always more on my list. I can't say no 😊 I have Meadow, sugar Snap, Alt Goldgrun, Olive Swirl & others from your list. (I used to have a memory 😂) Other faves I can think of are Robert Oster Avocado, Emeraude de Chivaun - excuse the misspelling, I'm in bed in the early hours & not getting up to check 💚, Diamine Salamander, Sherwood Green, Emerald, Delamere Green etc
Thank you for the beautiful video 🙏😁
Thank you Debra! I thought green was very fitting for St Patrick's Day! I've tried Sherwood Green, Avocado and Emerald of Chivor. I need to try Salamander!
I love Pilot Iroshizuku Shin-Ryoku ink, so pretty. It's my only green ink since I'm not a huge fan of yellow greens and I just don't see a need to buy any more greens when I love the one I've got so much lol
I agree with this - if you have one you like, stick to it!
I need Edwards Garden now!!! 😍😍😍🥰🥰🥰❤️❤️❤️😆
It's sooooooooooooo good!
I have it! Have refilled it two times already! I love it! It's similar to "Emeraude de Chivor" but more blue I think. 🥰😍❤️
Green is my favorite, followed by dark browns/coppers. Do you know what was used to make the custom Evergreen?
I do not - it was made by www.youtube.com/@KatiesCraftStudio
I love green ink too! I have quite a few, mostly samples. My top three would have to be Ink Institute x Yoseka origin no.1, Dominant Industry Tuna & Olives, and Colorverse Arabella. I bought it originally because that's my daughters name but I really love the color. Diamine Cappadocia is next on my list to try 💚💚
Thank you for the suggestions - now to go find them and add them to the list!
Where did you get that brass nib pen? I really like it, and my pen dealer doesn’t carry anything like that.
@@kjmav10135 it is the Kakimori brass nib. It can be purchased from Atlas or PenChalet.
The correct pronunciation is:
see - pee - uh
with the accent on the first syllable.
Thank you!!
Will someone plz send me a sample of the inkvent sugar snap? Thank you for this video I’m home PMSing and this made me feel much better. Adding Olive Swirl to my wish list
Hope you feel better!
R+K Deep Pine was a special edition in 2022. Can no longer get. Noooooooo. Y U do dis 2 me?
Aww sorry! It was a sample sent to me by a friend!
