Gonna repeat my comment :V
Pretty sure Anacondas dont grow over 6 meters, with a 6 meters one being the Shaq, also Brazilian biologist and youtuber @biologohenriqueoficial has a R$10,000 prize for anyone who can show him prove of a living and breathing 9 meters Anaconda, and the prize its been there for quite some time now 😂
Good point. Thanks for the comment.
Anaconda is not the longest snake, but it's the biggest (I'm viking so forgive my English)...and having breed Chinese water dragons and dwarf caiman I have some knowledge about reptile's and the green anaconda, as you said, can definitely not reach 9 meter's.
@@mortenhyvejle hence why the prize is and will always be there 😂
@@matheusfiorelli8829 hahaha yes good point now when I think about it 😂
That anaconda on excavator is at least 10 m long
What? You thought re-uploading the video was going to stop me from commenting? Can't get rid of me that easily. Keep up the great work my friend.
Your outta control!!
Ssssss
So refreshing to find a reasonable, well-spoken voice on UA-cam.
I think it's larger than snakes, people have a hard time estimating "size" (length, girth, height, etc...) in general, regardless of what's being measured. Ask a person how tall a house is, or worse, a larger building and you'll get varying answers, most of them probably higher than reality. Anything that's roughly outside our "normal" range of size and weight (and time too) becomes very difficult to estimate, even for experts.
Well said
Right you are. And in the case of these snakes there is the added problem that dead snakes will stretch if not handled carefully. And if the snake is skinned, the skin alone stretches even more. A 10m skin can easily have belonged to a under 8m long snake.
@@palmarolavlklingholm9684 you said it yourself. Skin can stretch only so much. A 10 m anaconda skin which was exhibited in a documentary couldn't have come from an average anaconda. It would have to had come from an anaconda close to 8 m which would have dwarfed any retic as even the record retic was 130 kg which an average anaconda could near as many have been weighed in over 100 kgs.
Its important to remember that although reptiles never stop growing throughout their lives, the yearly rate of growth slows down year by year with the most rapid yearly growth occurring in juvenile reptiles. So apart from a genetic anomaly, significantly larger than average (e.g. Yao Ming), we pretty much have found and documented the maximum sized reptiles that are out there. Its also important to remember that snake skin stretches therefore measuring the skin of a dead snake is likely to yield a length in excess of the length when it was alive.
I really like how you flow the storyline in your videos
Thanks you so much.
The photo is forced perspective where you hold the snake close to the camera to appear larger than it is. We did that during Desert Storm with those tiny camel spiders to make them look like giants.
It is also common to play the telephone game where we hear "up to 30 feet" then repeat "30 feet" and the next person says "at least 30 feet" and the next person says "more than 30 feet" and so on. Megalodon did that growing from 30 feet to 300 feet.
reupload = rewatch
Hero
I think it's pretty sad that most "record size" snakes are hanging from excavators, lit in the process of tearing down their natural habitat so infuriating
I would like to have seen the bill lamar story, a herpetologist who killed an anaconda in 1978, measured with rope after killed and measured 24ft 7 inches then skinned, measured skin which he still has and found to have stretched 10ft more than pre skinned.
Been binge watching your videos the entire day
Keep going chad
Photoshopped snakes on a excavation machine. Large Anacondas reach approximately sixteen feet.
In the deep untouched Amazon I’m willing to bet there’s 25-30 footers
I'm going to keep liking the video no matter how many times it is uploaded!
That's very kind, thank you!

@@Sharktoz You guys are awesome! I don't deserve such dedicated subscribers.
@@wildworld6264yes, you do! Your presentation style is so good.
@@Bambisgf77 Thank you so much
Love your videos! Super interesting. Have you thought of doing a video on platypuses or aliens? Keep up the good work 💜
Really good video but as you mentioned yourself, Anacondas are known for being the heaviest snakes, not the longest. Therefore, when posing the question of how big anacondas can get, why did you not choose to explore how heavy they can get? It seems the length question would have been better suited for a video on retics.
When you said “shaq Yao Ming” I thought you were speaking in Quint from Jaws accent.
🤣🤣 LOL 🤣🤣🤣🤣
It's good that there are still wild places. And mysteries in nature ! 😊
3rd upload ? That is rooky numbers pump it up to 5! Jokes aside great video .Are you planing on making anymore of these how big can this animal grow videos? Maybe one on the blue whale or Portuguese man o'war or if you wanna be real speclative how big could a spider or other "Bugs' could theoretically get with todays atmosphere and maybe compare them with the carboniferous?
Yeah, blue whale is definitely on the list. Hadn't thought about the Portuguese man o war but I'll put it on the list. Thanks for the suggestion. As for spiders, I'm currently working on a cryptid video about giant spiders. I'll probably cover some of the topics then.
going to talk about Titanaboa????
@@Danny-mg1hu cool can't wait for the upcoming videos and keep up the great work
I want to see a video about how big a grizzly bear can get.
Around 600 to 650kg is their max weight.
Interior Gryzzly or coastal?
Love your work man
Great video, can’t wait to see more.
You ever planned on looking on how big Sleeper sharks can get?
Thank you! And yeah, I'd like to do a video on the sleeper shark at some point.
... What was wrong with the last video about this ???
Just a few more corrections
Hello from Ontario Canada. Actually I watched a show on TV. That the people going into the Florida everglades also hunt gators in or near Louisiana USA. Two of these people were hunting anaconda or pythons in a rock quarry. It wasn't the size of them that shocked me but the location they were found in? A rock quarrey? 😊
Apparently in a newer docu they measured a northern green anaconda at somewhere between 20-21 feet long and it's said that's the longest ever measured .
Plot twist: someone held a small snake in front of the excavator to make it seem like a monster. Just like how people pretend they're leaning on the tower of pisa
Considering most people couldn't estimate black bass properly from pictures, Imma not believe them on an Anaconda picture lol
Man just bumped into your channel just wanted to say that you are doing amazing work and I as fellow giant and dangerous animal lover knew those stories you make videos about but you can make it so interesting I don't mind listening to them again and again from yours video, keep up the great work
Thanks so much.
Great video and presentation of the topic.
People always over estimate the size of wild animals that scare them. The first time I ever saw a wild black bear at close range, I thought it was about the size of a Shetland pony. In reality, however, it was probably closer to the size of a St Bernard. 😊
Superb assessment..thanks pleasure analysing it..
Excellent video! Thank you
I seriously doubt that thing is longer than 15-20 ft long. It's held in front of the apparatus, so it looks huge but only because it's much closer to the camera. Much like the photos of giant camel spiders that are really two camel spiders intertwined held close to the camera but actual no bigger than the gap between the shirt cuff and wrist of the person holding them.
Crazy to think that they just found a new species that reported at 26 feet like this week
I still think that there is likely a pretty large snake somewhere in the amazon, but with all the complications that come with size its probably less than 30ft. also if you want a good fictional story about big snakes, the book titled "anaconda" (came before the movie) is a fun read.
I live in french Guyana South America .I've got pictures of myself with anaconda that is 5.40 m and 80kg .it was removed from a home .this is the biggest we heard of or know in our area. I don't think they can get much more . maybe 6m but that the max
the do get bigger, the biggest anaconda ever record was around 8.5 m and 250kg
Professional... Well done!
How do they measure it ? VERY CAREFULLY
Funny how these monstrous animals (Snakes, bears etc) have naturally been shy near humans and they flee. Yet we force ourselves unto their habitats until they fear us no longer
Amazing video as usual
Hello again from Ontario Canada. I have a really hard time with the picture of the anaconda being held up by an excavator. You really think that the photo is real? That it hasn't been altered? Your videos are amazing and your narrating refreshing. Great work. The honest opinions you have are great! Again, thank you!
Thank you now I’ve found the video I can watch while cooking
That model excavator looks like a CAT 320, so your estimates are fairly right on the arm length.
One thing i think that is important to note about the excavaor in the picture is that 3 meters is the height at the top of the cabin and the arm is higher off the ground
What about the congo snake from Remy Van Lierde ?
Excellent video! Thanks!
Glad you liked it!
Excellent video! Thankuou
A re-upload of a re-upload? I think this is the first time I've seen that
depending on where the pittsburgh zoo snake was captured it could be said that it reached the maximum size that that population of snakes could, but the ones in places like the floating forest would have a much higher growth ceiling
In relation to that paper published by Antonio in 2000, when you said do we consider 780 green anacondas as a large sample size the answer is no, particularly if they were caught in the one area, think of fishing at one depth… that’s an extremely limited test regardless of how many samples you catch.
Great job, Mate. You just earned a Sub, & more than earned a 👍🏻... 🤟🏻🐍💚🌏
The largest green anaconda I have seen personally was a captive bred female who was 18 feet long, and was overweight at nearly 300 pounds. She was about 12-15 years old. I and 7 other people were holding her, and she was heavy. I have much smaller ball pythons---easier for one person to handle safely. They are fairly timid. The largest one I have is a 6 foot 2 inch 9 year old champagne pastel female named Mildred. These big snakes are beautiful, but they need to stay in the wild and not kept as pets. (Jan Griffiths).
I ran into a 26 footer. It had swallowed a calf and the shape of the calf was still bulging, as the anaconda was motionless. I took advantage.😎
didn't know that an ana that's 18 ft, close to 300 lbs is considered overweight, btw do you know the girth of that snake
Nearly 2 and a half feet in circumference at her widest point. The snake also had very visible fat deposits, and was not very active. She had trouble crawling on the carpet. (Jan Griffiths).@@speedmaztersps2577
@@douglasgriffiths3534 i know a retic that's as thick as the anaconda that you've mentionted
3rd times the charm eh? 😂 i was wondering what video I was missing!
Accuracy vs precision...
There was part of me when I initially saw this photo that wondered if it wasn't photoshopped just because I thought it was weird that there was no video of the snake
Which part of you?
Considering fish size, penis size, etc…. I don’t think people are good at estimating size.
The coupler for the bucket of the 22ton excavator is originally around 14 inch wide! Got a bucket bolt, (S08) 2.2inch thick, infront of me right now.. Almost all Brands got the same measurements for Ton classes!
Even if they don't stop growing they stop being alive 😂
What were the building and who wants to live in that neighborhood?
Oh nice big snake, there's a story or legend in East borneo about a big snake called "lengunan". It's a very big snake that makes upstream mahakam river It's home. Local people says it's body biggest part circumference is somewhere from 50cm to 1 meters (1.5ft to 3ft)
Local tribesmen are the best proof they get much bigger. There are first hand accounts of 60 feet. Above 60 feet I've heard stories but haven't heard any from the source.
I watch alot of video on giant snakes, the best explanation ive heard for the 30ft estimates you'll hear so often came from a tribesmen.
He said a snakeskin from a 20ft snake will stretch out to 30ft after the animal is skinned
Bro, a re-reupload? ?
Love how bro mencions the me trick sistem
Still you need to do a video about piton because i have seen a video of a snake burned from a forest fire that are massive
5:11 the excavator arm is odd. Sort of disappeared at the end.
Longest snake is Reticulated Pythons and heaviest are Burmese Python. Humans don't have proof of 400 plus pounder anaconda but they do got 400 pounder Burmese Python. Anacondas are overrated
The heaviest burmeee was 403 pounds compared to the heaviest green anaconda being 500 pounds
@@starvinghub that green anaconda was never caught, as I said just estimations.
The excavator Is definitely larger than you accounted for. No doubt. Not the largest available, but far from the “mid” size you used for reference
Titanoboa the second lol
Hey bro did you check that they found a new 26 ft anaconda, new species in green anaconda
Was it true that Teddy Roosevelt offered a reward for anyone that could find a very large snake ? (Cant recall what the measurements were ) .
Yeah he did
I look up Mountain chicken, and it gave me this not mad but good
20ft Snake
There is a trick that carp anglers use to make fish look more impressive and that is to take a photo holding the fish at arms length in front of the camera with the angler set back...it slightly distorts the perspective and makes the object look bigger...this to me seems to be going on here
Capybaras are OP
If we haven’t explored every single inch of the world including the oceans , how can anyone say that these animals can’t reach 30ft? Also how can we conclusively say that there aren’t snakes even larger somewhere out there? Scientists often make hypotheses with no zeroed out conclusions. For instance, how the solar system was created. How can anyone know for sure if they weren’t there or involved with any pars of its creation? Also many experts are only quoting what they learned from a book. Which again takes me back to the, how can anyone be sure if they weren’t apart of or involved in the initial findings? 🤔
the difference in size from 20 to 30 ft is enormous but you just don't see that in photos, you can't miss it really..... the really big anacondas all look roughly the same size............ what would a 30 footer eat and the temperature isn't high enough either because that's why Titanoboa went extinct, there's no need to get bigger than 20 foot is there
I've seen a recent video of an anaconda swallowing a cow. Whole. It was S struggle, and the anaconda's eyes almost popping out and close to choking to death, but it was able to swallow the cow whole. The last part of the cow was the most difficult to down, as the hind legs and hooves still hung out of it's fkng mouth. But after 3 hrs of almost dying for the anaconda for Daring to swallow something 5 X thicker than its own trunk. You should have seen the snake: It had the exterior shape of a goddamn cow! This was a 26 footer! 😎
in my opinion, (note just an opinion, no fact to my claim) if a snake 33ft. happens to exist, the meals consumed need to be either big, long period (cow or mule) per 2 months if not sooner! or multiple small meals ( chickens, rabbits, sheep) within days if not hours apart! never the less seem unlikely construction would be the cause of death, as shot by a farmer!
That's an impressive snake but I'm pretty sure the snake hanging on the excavator is not the same snake.
Shaq is no opponent to a full grown sucuri...just thinking..
Didn’t he see that he couldn’t feel his finger tips. He wrapped his arms around it.
I’d say 30 feet would be largest nowadays. 60-80 feet before we as humans moved into areas and changing the world as we want
there is a man on the back of the vehicle and that looks small
I looked it up and the longest snake in captivity (the reticulated python Medusa) lives in my city!!
Awesome! I talk a little about medusa in the python video. I wonder if she is really over 25ft long.
If i ever meet her I'll let you know 😃@@wildworld6264
@wildworld6264 there's a guy who's pretty much have an experience with big snake said that medusa the retic is in the 20-21' range and 260 lbs
@@wildworld626425ft 2in 350lbs Reticulated python Medusa is the largest documented snake in captivity at the Edge of Hell House in Kansas City Missouri verified by Guinness World Records 2011
The claim of a 33ft snake is old. I have a book on snakes from the 1930s that has a chapter on giant snakes. It states the largest snake ever recorded was a 33ft reticulated python.
Are you the same guy from budget museum or do I need to get back on my meds???
This is a restrictor for sure 25 ft mayb
Not sure what I was seeing but I can for sure say it's not caused by anything about the river 1°40'01"S 61°30'36"W it's huge. Google earth images.

From someone who, lives and, already seen it Sucuri (Anaconda) and Jacaré-açu (Yellow Belly Caiman) with almost 6 meters, in the Zoo, believe 6 meters is more than enough to give you a notion of humility. This creatures dont need to be bigger than they already is. This things eat Capibaras, and this rodent is bigger and heavier than your plus size average dog...
There are more than likely more than 2000 green anacondas in captivity. Also I’d believe anything Forrest or Paul say. Their names are both quality names in their fields. Forrest just has a funny name but still a good dude.
I don't know who Paul is. But Forest Galante is known to make a few mistakes now and again. Yes he is very knowledgeable, but do not take everything he says for truth. He has made some pretty glaring mistakes.
16:24 ahhhhh 😌
We need yonk master fishingarrett opinion on this topic
Honestly don’t know what it is with humans fascination with big animals like a lot of people really believe the megalodon exists in the mariana trench or just generally in the deep sea. Same thing kinda applies with the anaconda, bet some people believe that 30ft anaconda (or titanaboa) exists somewhere in the heart of the amazon where few people’ve been.
omg was that an x files clip
I have a big burm that you would think is 20 ft but she’s only 16
I love how one of the animals that hurts anacondas the most. are capybara....
If I had to guess I'd say the green Anaconda probably has a maximum size of somewhere between 25-30 feet . If there are much bigger snakes in the Amazon they are bound to be a different not yet discovered species .
