  • It all starts with the drip rails, get them right, get the gaps right, get the car welded right...Miss these steps and ruin your car.

Can't get any better than a pastor and someone with the skills to fabricate a mustang. I love your "how to fabricate teaching style". Much better than just for entertainment.

Thanks for making these videos! Seeing the real process for a normal person is very cool.

Thank you. Yeah I’m just a regular dude that wanted a fastback.

Hey Scott, I'm getting my very first car back from the guy that has it this weekend. It's a 67 mustang that i plan to convert into a fastback. The main thing is just getting the car back. The guy has been nice enough to hold it for me but this weekend is my last chance to get it. I've been able to aquire the funds to get it back and my wife is supportive as she knows what this means to me. That being said, it is really going to make things tight financially for us. I could definitely use a prayer from you my friend. Typically, summee is when i make my money, but the economy has taken its toll and the hours at work havent been great. A prayer to help us get though this winter in good shaoe would be much appreciated! Thank you and God bless. Mustangs lookin sharp there btw, love your videos!

Hey Scott, a couple of things. You should use the trim piece held up against the the drip rail to get a better idea of how much you need to trim, it might be more than you think! Also, you should consider more spot welds on the drip rail, especially at the top, this is the only thing that joins your roof to the inner structure at this location, the factory manual calls for 16 spot welds in just that section alone. Making good progress!

Super good info! Thank you. I plan on stitch welding the drip rail at the seam to the inner structure as well.

Ever thought about using a spot welder gun

A good one is super bulky and expensive. The harbor freight level gun won’t do what the factory pinch weld guns did. You’re better off and have a better bond with well placed plug welds.

I am going to build a car to sell as a roller this summer but I just don't have time to do cars for clients. Sorry.
