- In this video, we'll be diving into the Pigtail railroads fleet of steam locomotives. From quirky antiques to the modern duplex's, busty freight movers to shifters of all shapes and sizes, there is alot to uncover in this new video.

Hello viewers,
I just want to clarify what i said if no one saw the outro for the video. I won't be doing other railroads steam locomotives in 10 words or less, seeing as those would get repetitive easily, and would likely take alot more work to make. The only reason i did the Pennsylvania steam locomotives for this series is because i had this idea in mind. This will likely be the only 10 words or less video to cover steam locomotives, as i intended to do strictly diesel locomotive builders, with the Pennsy steamers being an exception i did for fun. So yeah, please don't expect me doing a "Every N&W Steam Locomotive Reviewed" video anytime soon, your asking for too much from me.
Take care. (also like to apologize for the screw-up at 4:02, meant to put in 2-10-0 instead of 2-8-0)
I was gonna mention that
Best quote from the video - giant Honkers
hippo
Halton I want to clarify you said “Power hippos, with giant *inappropriate*”
Hey.. Wes K4 1188?😊😊
I will never watch any of your videos again because I was insulted by your absolutely lousy comment about the 2-10-0 Decapod Etc Etc !
As a Pennsylvania railroad enthusiast, I approve also yes the pennsy was smoking crack when making some of their locomotives
Finally another penny fan
Me too I am making a book series based on the prr in the 1950s. I'll make adio books once I get some actors.
Try Santa Fe:D
@@maciekkra539 Maybe some day. But I can say the Santa Fe railroad will be referenced in the series.
@@Pennsy6755m1b i like pennies too
The Hippo bit caught me off guard 🤣
You and me both.
What are these things which he called "honkers". What are they used for?!
I think they're air tanks used for the brakes.
@@TrainsAreReallyCool Really? Thank you so much. This has been bugging me for a while now.
@@EmilyChaosDrivr Actually they're feed water tanks. Basically they take in used steam to superheat the water in the boiler. Makes the engine burn less coal and in turn outputs more power. Most engines usually had just 1 tank but the I1s instead used 2. It's another reason why the I1s were known to be "slow but having a lot of pull"
I personally love the little A5's. They're small yet look like they can get things done.
Me too it's one of my favorite locomotives.
Agreed #Fireup94
As much as I love the 7002, I think that there’s no way it could have broke a speed record.
It really did, it broke Mallard's 203 km record at just 204.5 km 32 years and 9 months before Mallard was even built! Literally nobody talks about this at all!
@@florjanbrudar692we’ve all heart that story
3:44 *basically our black five*
4:05 you actually made the "new anime plot" joke, that is amazing
4:23 AYOOOOOOOO
The Pennsylvania railroad had Prairies???????? That's awesome
You don't often see people talking about the earlier and less common PRR steam classes. Nicely done.
Noone ever in front of a bunch of Pennsy fans:
*"GOD SAVE THE ROANOKE SHOPS!"*
remember kids, *_do not under any circumstance go down the lines west rabbit hole_*
The S1 and T1s have always been two of my favourite steam locomotives. There's something about the combination of their beautiful streamlining, gigantic size, experimental design, and potential ability to outrun Mallard that just make them so captivating to me.
I'm so excited to see the T1 Trust finish their work
I learned about new classes of PRR steamers today! Pretty enjoyable video!
As a hardcore N&W fan I recognized the wartime surplus Y3s as well as the K3s they bought and reclassed as E3s. Note that I was jamming to Norfolk and western there’s no stopping us. It hits sooo hard
3:15 I’m in the small Altantic club. I really like their looks and design, how closely it resembles the D16’s
5:39 very accurate
Also lionel is bringing back the S2 steam turbine in lionchief
1:30 Is That Casey JR?
1:35 Hey! That's ATSF #5, also known as Little Buttercup
As a PRR Fan this video was absolute banger but now the I1sa got me acting up💀
Really cool video, I’m impressed you found so many different ways to say “this is peak and indisputably the best”
A++++++++ video THANK YoU for putting your time and effort into the video A+++++++ video
The K4s will always be my favorite of all time.
Sir Nigel Gressley would use them as the basis for the A1s, surprisingly enough.
Never thought I'd giggle this hard at a video about locomotives, congrats
Been waiting for this for a while.
Wow, this was a pleasant surprise and as usual still has me rolling around laughing my ass off.
Actually fun fact, the K5 has a worse factor of adhesion than the K4's which meant they slipped like no ones business, almost as bad at the duplex locos and also why only 2 were ever built.
The duplexes didn't slip because of bad adhesion, it was that they two throttles. There is video of the big boy slipping last year, with the from drivers spinning, but the rear still working. But the 4000 series had one throttle, so the engineer has to back off both engines to get the first pair of drivers back under control. With a PRR Duplex, you could have the same event occur, but only have to back down one throttle, as you see on the videos of T1s, etc.
This is amazing
5:53 Imagine the PRR and N&W merger 💀
Ngl I like this type of vid, maybe u can do more of these if you like to do it.
For The production of the new T, #5550 i donated a few hundred $'s to.
Thank you so much for donating to the T1 project.
As the owner of a (literally) rare HO model of a Pennsy J28, they are NOT Bland. They had good careers for 2-off prototypes. Further, Prairies just are fun on the Mainlines.
Great video, hoss. Mind trying N&W next?
Good job
1:24 misconception here. That is actually a *Philadelphia and Reading* 0-10-0.
The PRR did have however (0-10-0t from the Madison incline) and it’s actually still around to this day.
That line for the E1A is pretty accurate description of them.
cool video
Oh man, Rodney would totally love this.
For the S1 I would've said "Long hot dog on wheels"
You should do this with the B&O or SP or N&W next
do you mind if I use one of your videos as a topic in school?
I think you should do this with a different railway cos it's fun to watch
Finnally,the glory age of steam
thats why this railroad is my favorite XD
Will you do a big four version?
Pennsy hippos were 2-10-0 steam engines not what your showing but a pretty cool video of pennsy steam
That b23 switcher looks like it has a Southern Railway style whistle; probably a Princeton or Lenoir City style whistle.
Woah woah woah, that's too many words!
Wait noMandated passenger varient. **confused prr banshee whistle screaming**
Too many Pacifics to have a mandated passenger variant. Half of Pennsy's roster were mandated passenger units.
@@danielbackley9301 oh jeez
Pennsey just smashed multiple 4lokos and ran with whatever ideas after partying all night.
It was beautiful
I couldn't watch the hole thing..this guy gave me a freakin earache!!!
Idea:every heritage unit described in 10 words or less
My favorite Pennsy locomotives are T1 Duplex and the K4 class. There, I said it.
Also when you said that k4 5399 looks Australian your right it looks like our 38 class pacific the unstreamlined ones
@Cowl Unit Productions I respect your personality, and I respect you as a human being for doing this, but I also see you’re trying to catch up to me in 10 words or less videos
I’m hungry for more
Yeah!
have you already made a Every NW Steam locomotive reviewed in 10 words or less?
3:39 that engines looks very similar to ICRR 383
Ok if possible could you do southern pacific next
Do Milwaukee Road next
Im currious how you would reveiw the reuben wells locomotive...technically it was a 1 off buildt to bank trains here in indiana but the penn central did own it and dress it up in pensi colors for a bit before moving back to indiana
I may be British. But the Pennsy will always be my favourite American Railroad. Next to the NYC & UP.
5:40 that s2 numbered 2020, i have that, just doesnt move, runs though.
M1s and L1s are my favorites from PRR
4:53 ngl i like the Cross counterbalanced disc drivers
Also with the T1, i like the production version than prototype.
God i love my state of Pennsylvania
Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees I'm in this
4:41
My favorite one
When the best Pennsy freight engine by performance is NOT a Pennsy design..
Also imagine if the FG-1 became a thing (Pennsy N&W A-class)
I knew exactly what anime plot he was refrencing
That I1sa 4453 were involved in wreck with doodlebug 4648
The J28 2-6-2 and K4 locomotives look like good engines to me
Cowl Unit, can you review all MTA rolling stock? (Since like the 1900’s, and include MNRR/LIRR if wanting to)
And if so, you mind if I join?
I’m surprised that you didn’t include the Pennsylvania Railroad no. 1320 a 2-2-2-0 that was based on the lnwr dreadnought class
Watch the last 4 seconds of the video.
Yeah 6:49.
@@johnd8892 lol I didn’t even noticed

4:54 Pennsylvania Railroad K5 4-6-2: *"failure in real life, obscure cult following in S Scale"*
Because American Flyer made S Scale models of the K5 pacific back in the 1940s and 1950s
4:25 1905, there were 2 that were ever built for PRR
Norfolk and western next pleaseeeeeeeeeee
In the words of Cowl “i men some massive honkabakonkers
I didn't know that the pensy had articulated steam locomotives
I can hear NYC foamers demanding an NYC variant
The prr really had some articulateds shame they never got some recognition like the other steam engines of the pennsy, and at 5:53 an ex N&W y class articulated on the prr must have been a based design like the c&o t1s to form there j1 class
The john bull was reviewed in 11 words 💀
N&w next plz 😉
I'm in this😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃
Did anyone else catch that the I1/I1sa said 2-8-0 instead of 2-10-0?
1:22 What Is Locomotive
Norfolk and Western Locomotives
"should I question the light placement?" I was confused at first with the b1 0-6-0 ( 2:05 ) and had to look back, looked at the front light "seems normal for trains of the decade" it wasn't until I looked at the back and then the roof and just laughed.
edit: I miss heard what was said, cause I zoned out being a train nerd for a second looking at some of the trains I love, had to clarify once I looked back the third time
2:24 seen this locomotive at least 20 times. To bad it is the only running Pennsy locomotive right now.
5:41 looks like Shane from Thomas and Friends
Not at all. He's an SAR 520 class with a 4-8-4 wheel arrangement.
Do a PB&J review😂
Nah, bro really had to read the script 🤣😭
Do Alco diesels in 10 words or less.
5:43 no way dude the production T1s were way better than the prototypes
I personally think the production T1s look leagues better, the prototype just looks... bloated.
and i may be a sucker for that weird bar that the poppet valve ones got
PRR 4-4-0s I would choose the D10, D14, D6, D16 as well as D16sb.
The N2 was a USRA design
❤
Where's 4-6-8-4 Steam Locomotive?
Its too bad the T1 was so flawed cause damn that engine looked fine
