If bass and power are the primary things lacking in this vehicle, what aftermarket products (i.e. subwoofer and amp) do you feel would improve it? With the captains chairs, a traditional subwoofer enclosure might look odd and out of place.
Not sure if you’ll see this but I’d love to see one for the 2024 Santa Fe with the premium audio. I used to own a Volvo with the bowers and Wilkins and it was your review of the Bowers and Wilkins that made the final decision to go ahead and upgrade it and since then I have agreed with every review you have posted!
Thank you for this great review! Just bought the EV9 Wind and love it. Does anyone know what file systems the USB-C port can accept - NTFS, FAT32, exFAT - for a portable hard drive and what file types, like flac? I can't find any info in the docs.
This EV9 has so many positives as to be the best value proposition in the segment imo. It might have some less than premium parts, but it makes up for it with premium engineering and build quality. The sound system is high up on my priority list, though, so what to do about the lack of foundational bass. Hopefully, the subwoofer is separately amplified after the dsp, and hopefully, there's enough room for the aftermarket kit.
As soon as I saw that it had a Meridian sound system, I immediately thought this would drop the ball of this vehicle. Meridian just can’t get their audio right nowadays.
I bought the Land model for the 14 speaker audio and I was very unimpressed. My 2010 kia soul with an 8 speaker system bumped twice as much. Of course when you show hamsters driving to bass music then you have to deliver. They really went cheap with this meridian system. I get they want to conserve power for more range but there should be a toggle that we control that allows more power through the sub at the cost of range. The sub I think is 5 inches also which really can't get the low bass tones.
Totally agree w your assessment and disappointment. This is such a great car and it would be nice to have a top teir audio system to match w its quiet interior.
Well that is a deal breaker. A decent amp and equalizer would set the company back $80. Yes $80. Not included? Nope and no way. The EV9 was my top pick, now it is gone off the list entirely.
I just bought one this past week After driving 1100 miles on it, the car is awesome! I went with the LAND trim. The sound system to me is great for my needs. This is coming from a 2012 RR Sport.
You are 100% right the subwoofer is in sleep mode and the lack of watts power makes the instruments boring My car has 14 speakers Meridian, I need a way to sell it, for me it F tier this system ruins the whole car.
He is just Hyundai/Kia/Genesis hater. Why? Hyundai/Kia/Genesis didn't give any money for review. It is a very good sound system. Compare with Lexus, Acura, other brands audio review in this channel for yourself. A 3-row full-spec SUV EV is very cheap at $80,000. And, The body rigidity of recent Hyundai/Kia/Genesis cars is excellent. See IIHS. If the EV9 has a base strong enough to shake the car body, your kid will be die or become deaf.
@@rinbine2713I can't believe this guy just called $80K cheap. This system does not belong in a vehicle that expensive. It works in something under $45K, but not $80K.
I'd love to get an EV one day. However, I learned it'll cost around $25,000 to upgrade my home's electical to install a level 2 charger. Looks like I'll have to keep driving with gas.
Of course, it would be nice to have much more expensive sound like B&W or NAIM, but considering the price of the Meridian option of the ev9 that I experienced, I think it is a very cost-effective sound and disagree with your scoring 🤔
Kia, Hyundai seems to be taking the budget route when it comes to audio systems and this has been a huge disappointment for audio enthusiast like me. I would be happy to trade my Volvo XC90 only if they could at least get to A tier. Thanks DM Sound as usual with your reviews. Waiting for your take on the Bose System in 2024 Santa Fe.

Coming on the 23rd!
Please do a review of the EV9 base 8 speaker sound system. Thanks!🎉

Thank you, Excellent sound system review 👍❤
could you try Kia K8 Meridian Sound system, I'm interested to see how it compares to EV9 sound system.

My only experience w Meridian is w the system in my rivian R1T and I love it. But the interior is noisy in my rivian.
The Range Rover Sport and Range Rovers from 2012-2021 had amazing sound systems.
The was Evoque also very good.
Now it's lost its flair

If you can get a hold on the new 2024 Passat with Harman Kardon for a test that would be great :)
A fellow OC resident!
So are 5 million others, lol.
When is the Hyundai Santa Fe audio review coming ?
Can you review the new Tesla Model 4 sound system. Reviewers were sayi6the sound system is much better than the previous version
You are 100% right
the subwoofer is in sleep mode and the lack of watts power makes the instruments boring

What he is using the file format for testing music source? WAV? FLAC?
WAV
Can you please test the volvo ex30?
Loud highs like a after market set up of Infinity...LOL
Why does it seem like Kia, Hyundai, and Genesis have not been able to figure out sound systems lately?

@@snakeeyes9246 Do you know EV9 charging speed?
Time is money.
@@rinbine2713 You sound like a shill that can't even use proper English. Kia/Hyundai shill. The fact that EV9 has crappy soudn system is well known.

Do you have an electric dryer? $25K seems like a lot to upgrade to a larger service. I would just use a dryer buddy.

This vehicle is almost $80k.
Naim only makes audio systems for Bentleys basically

Better than those honda accord D tier
Those ICE vehicles aren't a fair comparison. Compare it to those brands, 7 sealter EVs, and $80k is quite a bit less.
