PS: one of the only things i would suggest is can you guys do a DB meter on a standard road for electric vehicles - like what is the quietest the EV on gravel to asphalt section. i find that many EVs skimp on either sound dampening or there is random wind noise. I drove the volvo polestar thing for work for a couple weeks and the wind noise was atrocious! My boss comutes in his Hummer EV and says that there is a windy stretch of road between two mountains where the noise gets really high pitched and almost whistles. i didn't believe it was that bad until i drove with him once and it sounds like an office chair going full speed downhill....

@@JPAK_92depending on the country you are living in, you might risk street legal, so you are not allowed to use them on public streets any more.
My KIA cars engine stalled after the dealership did an engine consumption test. The crank shaft broke and now they won’t honor their warranty even though my car is still under warranty. I drove the car only 30 miles after the oil consumption test and the engine blew up. I’m so disappointed in KIA they don’t care
New drinking game: drink whenever Alex says “exceptional”.
@@ArmyCop no, it’s fantastic.
2:27 But the question is whether you can put the seats in the normal position using the button in the trunk.
Because there are a lot of cars with this option of folding the seats that don't come back with the button on the trunk.
Idk if this is discussed later in the video
Great review, LMG has really come a long way when it comes to their car reviews, this was both entertaining and informative and focused on the things that are important when it comes to vehicles rather than getting too techy.
I enjoyed the little touch of the presenter laying down in the boot and doing some head banging, sorry I'm terrible with names.
The early car reviews I found somewhat frustrating and could find fault easily, this review, well I struggle to find fault. Well done!.
I wander how expensive those tyres are ?
2:01 can you eject only the back door handles? if not and all 4 are opens this vehicle would not be a good fit for ride share drivers
Lounge mode is great when charging on a road trip
If you ignore the high price, high maintenance and uncertainty as to if the battery can be repaired let alone replaced it’s great
The lounge mode is for when your stuck charging and need to wait a whole big bang episode to get a few miles..
Seperate front and back hvac is genius. Cars usually have only 1 or 2 people in the car the vast majority of time.
Boy does this sound like an advertisement!
that lounge mode is really useful for construction workers, In some sites I used to get in my car at lunch break to get away from the bugs (Australia)
Finally a new car review! Still waiting for a video about a Volvo waggon (V60 🥰👀) tho
I wish I could afford a V60
The location and shots in this episode are insaneeeee
So pretty!
Getting an IONIQ 6 pretty soon, thanks to you guys, and man I only wish I could have it in this beautiful metallic blue. but everyone knows, red goes faster anyways.
Ioniq 6 SE has a pretty sweet in dealership 24 month lease deal right now for $239/m 10k miles without any down payment
Ooof, imagine getting that inferior piece of junk.
Maybe you should step inside a K, backwards-N dealership before you buy it. Because you're gonna regret that the minute you need any sort of service or warranty.
I'm sorry did you say microtransactions in the $60,000 suv? KIA can go fork themselves.
So… Kia is going to adopt NACS plug stand and put the charger in the opposite side of where it needs to be ?
Criticize Tesla for making chargers that only work well with 1 kind of car.
@FinneasJedidiah it is almost like they build them to charge Teslas...
@@rcuadro- Except Elon has said repeatedly that was not the goal. So you can still blame it on Tesla.
it has been an absolute joy seeing alex find his voice and becoming more and more excellent with his reviews. this is one of his best ones yet. very informative, fun and not too dry even though its very information dense. love all your videos, but especially the car reviews. keep up the good work.
PS:
one of the only things i would suggest is can you guys do a DB meter on a standard road for electric vehicles - like what is the quietest the EV on gravel to asphalt section. i find that many EVs skimp on either sound dampening or there is random wind noise.
Linus said this wasn't going to become a car review channel, but I want it to become a car review channel.
but why is the hood so tall?
When I saw the door handles I thought what would happen if your battery totally died to where you could not unlock it and you had something important in it. If you are not home or near a charger then it could be an issue. Of course I at most need cruise control. This is for others but alas not me. Oh well. Good review though.
Lounge mode makes sense in an electric vehicle because you will sometimes be waiting at a charger for 15 to 30 minutes or whatever.
Again, thank you guys so much for the frequency analysis charts in your car reviews. As a certified audio nut (and studio recording engineer), I *love* that stuff. I've generated these graphs for every car I've owned in an attempt to tune things, and my friends always think I'm crazy.
I'd probably never use the third row, unless I stuck a couple of 5 years old back there. It works for me.
How long until all the microtransactions are cracked?
It has a really nice futuristic look, nothing absurdly stupid, just on spot.
I might sound like a boomer but I was pretty into this car until I saw the front seats. I yearn for analogue dashboards, bring back buttons and knobs please. I see one massive touchscreen and I immediately think firmware updates, glitches, dead pixels, connectivity issues, planned obsolescence, etc.
Alex: It's 5 meters long
Me: Laughs in Yukon XL!
But also, yeah, bumper against the wall, there's only 3 inches to the garage door. But it fits!!
Seen a few around Burnaby and Vancouver recently and mom seems to be a big fan of the EV9
Man, KIA seems to be absolutely killing it. If I were going to buy an EV today this thing seems like it would be the winner.
The Canadian Accent really comes out when he's excited about cars.
I know you don’t do Tesla but if you could review the cyber truck would really interesting
I find it very funny that these days with computer help they can't get a drag coefficientsy below 0.2 but back before the computer was a tool for car designers they often got down to 0.19 and below
Computer's where suppose to make it possible to go lower then the old days not the other way around
really enjoy Alex's car reviews.. should be own channel
Lets gooo Alex car reviews are back!!
What's funny to me is how some of the things that were criticized in past Tesla reviews are excused or glossed over in this video 🤔. Makes me wonder if this is an ad or they just really don't like Tesla because of it's musky CEO 😅.
That’ll be 95000€ (105000 USD) where I’m from. Nope.
Love the vid❤❤❤
Really hoping you're trying to get your hands on the "Xiaomi SU7" next!!
Everything but lighting change costing $200 sounds really good
Tesla! Notice that giant screen directly in front of the driver!?
I really wish there was an option to get the smaller battery in the higher trims. Other reviews have noted you are penalized in charging rate and speed for going with the larger pack. You are NOT getting those 10-80% stats even in the best of conditions, and it will charge slower than their true 400V architecture like in the Ionic 5.
i will never understand a mid video ad. i alsmost clicked out because i thought the video was over
"this car looks great" Alex's eyesight is going isn't it?
