In the comics, Hawkman is referred to as "the tank". He isn't as strong as Superman, or even Aquaman, but he is tenacious as hell and never gives up. Aldis Hodge played him perfectly, I hope we get to see him again.
Uhh....NO. He is not referred to as the tank. What the fuk comics have you been reading??? Because Hawkman is over 60 years old and in those 60 years he has not been called the tank..
yeah.. the only way he is not getting up is when he is near dead (and unconcious) or actually dead.. dude doesn't back down until the choice is taken away from him
I smile from ear to ear everytime I see Dr. Fate in this movie. It was literally a perfect cast, from actor to the good folks doing the CG, storyboarding, and costume design.
It kind of bothered me that the helmet was missing eyeholes. When he's always been drawn with eyes, why would you make it harder for either the actor or the CGI crew to achieve an effect they don't even attempt in the comics or animated movies?
Honestly I think the biggest issue with "Black Adam kills bad guys, therefore he's bad" is that in modern superhero movies the heroes kill the villains all the time. Superman is effectively meant to be the paragon definition of what heroism, and out of the 4 villains he's gone up against in the DCEU, 3 of them didn't live to see the end credits. Hell, even those mercs/terrorists at the beginning of BVS probably ended up in body bags after he sent them through solid walls. It makes the whole thing come off a hypocritical and kinda half assed
Well superman wasn't really much of a beacon yet on day 0 and he was just Kal-el in Man of Steel, no kryptonite was established yet, you couldn't fly Zd to another planet because he'll just come back to earth, no prison on earth could hold him, who made it clear he wasn't going to stop. "There's only one way this ends Kal. Either you die, or I do!" then you have Doomsday which is practically a zombie Zod which doesn't count, and steppenwolf (self explanatory) technically aquaman and wonderwoman helped give the finishing blow. As for the mercs/terrorists in BvS Clark clearly states he didn't kill anyone in that scene. and of course with this movie finally bringing up a "no killing!" rule to abide by; they're okay with it if its literally satan when hawkman said "beat his ass"...im pretty sure they're using this as a joke by this point. and while on the subject; when you think about it; batman brought up this "no killing" rule in the nolan movies, yet Batman killed in those movies as well, accidentally or not even if it was by protecting others and yet not a single person peed their pants over it.
@@EclipseHedgehog This was less a critique of the Snyderverse specifically and more a critique of Superhero films in general, but if the movies keep having to go out of their way to engineer scenarios in which Superman has to kill his villains or has no particular interest in stopping them from dying, that demonstrates that the film makers are aware that not killing his villains is a core tenet of his character but they aren't terribly interested in portraying it. And they don't explicitly have to. Batman '89 is the best Batman movie and he straight up murders The Joker. The issue is that, from a meta perspective, them making such a big deal about Black Adam killing people pretends like they've actually cared about heroes not killing villains in the past, which they blatantly haven't. Its a disingenuous notion, upon which our understanding of Black Adam as an antihero is built
You can't use DCEU Superman as the bar for "modern superhero movie heroes". Even if Superman isn't a complete stranger to killing in the comics, it's plain as day that Snyder fundamentally did not understand the character.
16:46 - My theory is that if Fate hadn't sacrificed himself, Hawkman would have been stabbed for real (because he wouldn't have had the helmet to cast the illusion), and it would have been Fate holding Sabbac down at the end there. Fate sacrificed himself because he knew Hawkman could still fulfill that role, and this way his friend survives.
The post-credits scene is so funny to me. Black Adam wasn't planning on leaving Kahndaq, but when Waller directly asks him not to leave, he just goes "maybe I will leave Kahndaq, what do you think about that?" because he hates being told what to do.
I honestly enjoyed most of this movie overall. My only real gripes were the skateboarding kid and how a it sometimes felt like a 90s movie (and not in a good way). I love that you called the kid "John Connor", because his relationship with Black Adam was absolutely a retread of Terminator 2. LOL
I don't think the skateboard kid has a John Connor- Terminator 2 relationship with Black Adam. It's more of a Disney/Nickelodeon type situation where a kid finds an animal/alien/ancient human, and tries to hide him from his parents and the evil government trying to use it'd power for evil, and along the way they have a montages where the kid teaches the being how to be human, and the lesson was the friends we made along the way. It just doesn't fit this movie.
@@carlweaselbear534 the kid doesn't try to hide him from anybody. He literally encourages him to go out in public and fight. And he tries to teach him to say quippy one-liners while kicking ass. That's literally the dynamic John has with The T-800 for the first 2/3rds of Terminator 2. That's the whole point of "Hasta la Vista baby!" I'm not the only person who's made this observation. Practically 90% of everybody who's seen this movie has pointed this out. And "teaching him to be human" IS the relationship dynamic of Terminator 2. Duh!
@@orinanime I know he doesn't try and hide Black Adam, that just the vibe I get, I should've worded it better. I know it's supposed to mirror his kid being the true hero, and Adam learning from him but it doesn't give us enough time with Adams kid for us to care about it. And I'm sorry if my explanation now isn't really making any sense but for some reason my phones isn't working that well. So I'd I don't reply or my reply is weird it's because of that.
@@carlweaselbear534 I get what you're saying. I just disagree with your assessment. I think their dynamic fits the movie. And it also reminded me of Terminator 2. And it doesn't remind me of a Nickelodeon type situation.
Also, touching the Helm of Nabu can be a curse. When you wear it, Nabu is in control. And if he refuses to give control back, there’s very little you can do.
I was so excited for this movie, and it at first it seemed like they nailed it, the Justice Society, Black Adam's power and brutality, the inclusion of Intergang. This movie should have been about an evil supervillain fighting the golden age of heroes, and the predecessors to the Justice League, but it didn't happen, because the Rock's didn't want to be seen as the villain, or even make a small cameo in a Shazam movie, when he's playing the arch rival to Shazam. Imagine if an actor playing Lex Luthor didn't want to be a villain in a Superman movie.
To be fair, there's always time for them to demonstrate Black Adam in his more villainous light, but I was fine with this because it's A) Black Adam's movie, and B) he's staying *mostly* in Khandaq and getting his bearings, so it makes sense for him not to necessarily be up to some scheme that requires he be stopped. Yet. And while he is brutal to his enemies, I think it's not unreasonable to Black Adam on his first outing as caring about the land that his home has become. I'd imagine for the Lex Luthor analogy, it'd be like if we got the movie LUTHOR, following Lex as he takes the reigns of Lex corp, building up his ambitions while defining his motivations, and simultaneously building up a dislike of Superman, whose actions could be largely in the background. It wouldn't need to focus on Lex as a villain, because I doubt he sees himself as the villain of his own story, even if some of his actions are of nebulous morality at best.
That is not how it works, but ok. Lex does not have any presence, except for Superman-related comics. Black Adam is far more independent than that. He is it’s own thing, except an occasional Shazam tie in here and there.
You hit the nail on the head. There should never have been a Black Adam movie before having him be the villain of Shazam. The Rock is the reason why Black Adam wasn’t the villain of EITHER Shazam movie so it’s really his fault that Shazam wasn’t better, Shazam 2 was bad, and Black Adam didn’t work. Characters like Black Adam can ONLY work as an “anti-hero” if he gets to be a true villain first. Also “anti-heroes” are just bullshit anyway. Let the heroes be good and villains be bad. Not every character has to be morally gray
I don't think Atom Smasher and Cyclone get nearly enough credit for how they managed to play it so natralistic when everyone else (including and ESPECIALLY Amon) were haming everything up so much.
Despite it being deemed a failure by WB execs for not making as much money back as they wanted, it's absolutely worth the watch. I don't often go to theaters to catch a movie multiple times (record being held by Guardians of the Galaxy 1 at four in-theater viewings), so when i do go to see multiple screenings, I consider it a mark that the movie has done something really right to make me look to carve out time for it.
Some superheroes can lend themselves to horror such as The Hulk can be shot as a horror movie but the genre should match up each other of The Hulk villains like for The Leader can be a psychological horror
Same! Effects were great, but I didn't enjoy the film. In every scene, I could literally see the producer's notes, and it was such a distracting turn off.
I watched the movie bc my best friend wanted to, and I'm so glad I did! Genuinely had a good time, and enjoyed The Rock's performance. I love how over the top his performance was, like it was a satirical version of how superheroes act. And as a curator/conservator in training with a degree in Ancient Cultures, it was super cool recognizing actual cuneiform in the movie, whether on his clothes or the walls. It's the first written alphabet ever created, invented by the Sumerians in Mesopotamia!
The best thing about this movie (and it does have a lot going for it, despite its faults) is the visual depiction of Cyclone's powers. I was genuinely gobsmacked by the sheer awesomeness of it all when watching it in the cinema.
Cyclone was actually a freaking standout for me, enough so that I'm still considering trying to get her action figure even though she'll likely never appear in another DC movie.
The casting director made the right call in choosing Quintessa Swindell as Cyclone to be honest. I literally can’t think of anyone else who could have played the character, even more so since this is the second non-binary actor to be cast in a superhero movie
I thought Black Adam was WAY better than the amount of crap it was getting. Was it perfect? No. Was it Dwayne Johnson as Dwayne Johnson cosplaying as Black Adam? Yeah. Was I thoroughly entertained? Oh yeah. Also, everything with Cyclone and Atom Smasher was just super freaking adorable and I want more of those two in particular.
Honestly your not gonna win that argument since the rock basically made this movie a gigantic waste of time because it’s not connected to anything minus a Superman that’s no longer with dc showing up
@@timothyhawkins5756 So, something that has nothing to do with the quality of the movie and is something entirely out of his control somehow makes this a bad movie? Mmmk.....that's an opinion.
@@Vinceras he’s the one that literally noped Levi showing up in Adam and him making a cameo in fury of the gods but yea it’s not totally his decision that this movie is so much of nothing and no story advancement for the future
I thought it was cool how the Clint Eastwood stand-off shown on the TV comes back around when Black Adam is in the same situation later on. I generally like when easter eggs/foreshadowing are done like this; when a shot of a TV in the background is actually playing a scene that inspired the movie or the scene. Shows attention to detail and creative vision.
I went in thinking "I want to see the Rock being an invincible super badass," and i left thinking "I got everything what i needed." Yes i predicted many of the turns but i think that is more competent storytelling than unsubtle storytelling. Tropes are just patterns we put labels on for discussion it doesn't make them bad. Doing them badly makes them bad and this was not that.
20:05 *THANK YOU* I'm so glad someone gets it not every film needs to be blow our socks off perfect and even if it is people will still nitpick find that one thing to hate I had fun here and thats all that matters
Since I made it in the first 5 minutes and you might actually see this: I really struggle with constantly feeling pessimistic. I really appreciate your optimism, it helps. Sometimes I just put these vids on and listen. Also, there are movies you have given me a different view on over the years and I appreciate that too.
This should have been rated R. As a Black Adam fan, I will tell you that this version diverges greatly from both his modern and Bronze Age comic book counterpart. But in many ways that’s a good thing. It’d be hard to root for a man who killed his nephew to gain more power. It’d be hard to root for a man who took the world to war and spared neither the innocent or the guilty. I feel like if they would have gone the Joker route and showed his villainous origins but also showed why became that way it would have felt more earned. Or if he was the one who killed his family but on accident because he couldn’t control his powers as they weren’t meant for him. He’s not pure of heart. He’s done many irredeemable things. Still, he’s the anti-villain/antihero you root for sometimes. I love this character for the same reason uce loves the character. As a Brown kid seeing this Brown man go toe to toe with powerhouses and protect his people without mercy was something I had never seen before. I was hoping to see more of him but seeing him on the big screen was a dream come true.
Fate and Black Adam have always been interesting characters in DC. Each lunatic antiheroes in their own way, a Conanesque ubermensch... and a Lawful Neutral parasite almost too dangerous to do good with.
I agree with what you said about not needing perfect movies, but enjoyable ones. Too often movies are seen as "bad" because they don't do incredibly at the box office, or have some flaws. But I love them anyway, because I enjoy watching them. Sometimes I just want to kick back and watch a movie, not critique it or pick apart every plot point. You're allowed to enjoy things. And, in all honesty, what makes a "perfect" movie?
Do you think you could do "John Carter" and Disney's "Lone Ranger"? Both movies are actually very good with awesome effects and good stories, but were murdered by Disney failing to promote them well. I'd love to see your opinion!! Also, JP3 when? Anyway, keep up the amazing work!!
@@jliller No, "Lone Ranger" was primarily hamstrung by the titular character being bland and useless. The movie was insulting by casting one of the most famous Native Americans in pop culture with a white actor.
@@jliller johnny Depp wasn't going full-blown Jack Sparrow. There were definitely some strong moments of it in a numerous scenes. But I don't remember it being non-stop. The main problem with this movie was making the Lone Ranger a stupid over-the-top CGI-filled goofy comedy and turning the titular hero into an incompetent ineffective dumbass
@@mikeduncan3953 How many Native actors are there, who btw do not just all associate themsevles as Natives and instead identify with their tribes, like a Sioux does not identify with a Seminole.
One of the things I love about this character and the way it's played is that it would been really easy for them to have had the justice society coming from the outside to solve the problem but instead they said no these are his people his nation his culture and they will rescue themselves.
I loved this movie. Don't get me wrong, I completely understand the critic's ratings on it, and the story felt really rushed, but holy crud... For me, no super powered fight scene has surpassed this movie. The action sequences are *gnarly.* It's just a fun ride, and I feel like that's what it was meant to be.
To me this one worked 90% just because Johnson is such a Lighthouse of pure Charisma. Sure, that makes it hard for anyone to genuinely "dislike" him - But hey. You wanted a Black Adam Movie with The Rock - thats what you get. Its not even close to perfect - but its a damn good time. I liked it.
I heard some nasty stuff about The Rock and why future movies were canceled and i don't know if they are true but if Black Adam was what we could expect from them i wish they would still be working on them. Loved the vibe of him not being a mindless murderer but not a hero. Loved Hawkmans attitude, very on point. Doctor Fate was exactly what i expected and Atom and Hurricane may have had a secondary role but there is no doubt that they were the heart for this teamup. Wish we could have gotten more like this.
I feel like at least for me, I wish we got to know the Justice Society a bit more before this movie. Dr. Fate felt both impactful yet unimportant? I feel like for people who don’t know a lot about these characters, they really won’t care.
MCU heroes kill ALL the time. Not as deliberately as Adam, but still… the fellow Cap kicked off the side of the ship in Winter Soldier didn’t walk it off. No one rescued all those Kree on the ships Carol Danvers smashed to pieces. If you count aliens, they’ve pretty much all killed somebody. Teth Adam isn’t all that much more ruthless than Nat. DC has heroes who won’t/can’t kill, but it’s seen as darker or more grounded. Which is weird.
Okay, that last comment is exactly what I needed to describe how I've felt about the DCEU for a long time. And it's probably why I've enjoyed Aquaman, Wonder Woman, Black Adam, *The* Suicide Squad and Shazam (possibly the sequel, will know more this weekend) more than any of their predecessors.
I loved this movie and hearing the positives of it makes me happy. It was a really good movie to me and I loved the visuals and the characters. I thought Hawkman was a jerk at first but grew to like him in the end.
I've only just watched it, haven't had time to lately, I heard the backlash it's had since it came out, my personal opinion after watching it, it's way better than the flash, and it was better than black panther, probably my favourite dceu movie after the suicide squad, I loved the movie
I liked the movie, but yeah that whole "yeah he's so dark and edgy and willing to do evil, he's better than all of you old fashion heroes!" kinda threw me off. I know it's more complicated than that but it just doesn't feel right to root for the guy who likes killing his enemys sure, sometimes there is no other option, but he just jumps to murder without a second thought, and that's what makes him better...? nah, what makes him better is * inserts full list of invincible super-powers * and also his theme music. god that theme music is so good.
*17:10** Watch her in Person of Interest, and you understand how badass she is* *Also, I'm still waiting on a spinoff on The Rock's character from "Be Cool"*
Speaking of the one true Bond, you should totally cover Brosnan's four Bond films. And all of them, honestly. Should be a good way to fill any content droughts.
It's a shame the Rock went for hyping up the Superman rivalry instead of Black Adam's actual nemesis, Shazam. And that Shazam 2 didn't have any mention of or connection to Black Adam. Either way, I enjoyed both movies, and I definitely agree with the sentiment that "I really don't need perfect films, I need enjoyable ones" and I enjoyed both of them.
All of my friends hated this movie but I think it had a fairly interesting premise although it wasn't explored nearly enough. On top of that the art direction was superb.
Yo I love your videos and I can’t wait for each new entry, but can you please review a film that’s not a action or superhero or straight up kids movie? I like those films too but I wanna know your thoughts on movies like Interstellar, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Blade Runner/Blade Runner: 2049, just think about opening up your library of films to talk about, it would be awesome to see that but either way I love your videos and I can’t wait for the next one!
So much potential for these characters I always presumed that the son had many adventures and even time traveled to the future where he saw his dad with a black outfit. When he gave his dad the powah, it was after he knew his dad would have them in the future and could die doing his fate Kind of funni looking at the Dr Fate speech about him not seeing anything ahead shows the closing of the Snyder influence
I think, as someone who hasn't actually seen it so I'm just going on audience reactions and outside content, my biggest problem with this film is that it exists entirely for Dwayne to stroke his own ego. Bro said he had no interest in seeing Black Adam fight Shazam, which is in essence his entire reason for his existence in the comics. That's like saying Venom shouldn't fight Spider-Man. Wait-
I love cinema wins because sometimes I want to watch movie reviews that celebrate the good, not absolutely rip into the movie for over thirty minutes. Movies are meant to be fun! Even if they have flaws.
Black Adam isn’t a bad movie, it’s a good movie with someone who was really passionate about the character and DC. It’s not perfect but at least someone was willing enough to want to steer the ship at DC which remained aimless for almost a decade. It’s sad people have been ragging on the Rock for this movie not making enough money. I loved the movie, the entire JSA was incredible.
20:11 I am just not having the best of luck with these still frames because I cannot tell what movie that is from? Hoping it might be Strange World because that film needs the CinemaWins treatment. Black Adam is supposed to be a bad guy. He kills his nephew (the champion) who shares his powers with his dying uncle (teth adam), and takes all the powers to himself.
I love how most of the kid's scenes are left out of this video. Other than that kid, this movie is great overall. Black Adam is exactly what I imagine how a man with superhuman strength uses it, no bullsh*t, no wasting time on useless chit chat. And Dr Fate is SO GOOD, the costume, the CGI, I really hope that we could see him in the future but really sad that they got Henry Cavil in for our hope up and the squashed it
Was this movie perfect? Not really. Did it have some problems. Definitely. Did I enjoy every minute of it and have a blast while watching it? You're goddamn right I did. I don't care what anyone says, I love this movie so much.
I love everything about your videos, and I actually really liked Black Adam, I know some dialogue and choices in the final act are questionable but I truly loved everything else, especially Dr. Fate. Also Bumblebee movie this summer before rise of the beasts if that's ok?
15:12 I just started getting into DC, cause I’ve always been more of a Marvel girl, and the only reason why I know who Dr.Fate is is because of the meme 😭. It’s one of my favorites. Gets me everytime. And his costume design is awesome.
Take That, Scrappy!: Ishmael/SABBAC isn't the most compelling Big Bad the DCEU has come up with, but the sight of Black Adam *splitting his head open followed with desecrating Ishmael's heritage by destroying the throne of Kahndaq feels very satisfying.*
That is why he was used appropriately - using a better character as a mini-villain ( in terms of screen time) would be a waste. So, they used him as a stepping stone there and it went splendidly
As a long time Leverage fan I saw the film on the basis of wanting to see Aldis Hodge kick ass. Was glad to see his comic timing got a look in and I didn't expect him and Pierce Brosnan to really gel so much. Film itself was enjoyable nonsense. Felt a bit confused and scattered but would watch again if it was on.
Even tho I believe the Rock was an amazing cast, it is very clear they didn't care about black Adam fans (comics/games) at all. No accent, wrong motivations and he is a good guy and most importantly NOT THE RIGHT SUIT.
I actually had fun watching this movie and it was, pretty cool, it's getting a bunch of hate, some unnecessary, some that makes sense, but honestly one of the better DC movies overall, didnt like WW84 too much so, I guess this is better than that If theres something I'd change it's about Doctor Fate, cus I wish they made him more powerful if hes been doing this for years and didn't sorta waste him :
Always appreciate a wins video. Unfortunately the Rock was apparently a real Diva when it came to this movie, he didn't even want Zachary Levi to cameo in it. He practically said he doesn't want Black Adam to be associated with Shazam. Which is confirmed by the fact that they used the same story elements, but completely retconned Shazam. Shazam said that Black Adam released the Seven Deadly Sins on the world, the Sins then killed the Wizards. But Black Adam just straight up changes that and says Adam killed them when they tried to imprison him. So Rock literally didn't care about the Shazam story. Plus, i found this movie fairly boring because you can clearly see The Rocks "no losing fight" clause. He literally never loses. In fact, this movie has ALL THE PROBLEMS that the scourges of internet SAID CAPTAIN MARVEL HAD. So I'm salty about that. Anyway, hope Glass Onion is winned soon!
How did I miss this in my notifications? Anyway, you should do Everything Great about Last Night In Soho since you’ve already covered most of Edgar Wright’s filmography
Yes! Black Adam! I looved this move. ^^ It just love how Dwayne brought this apathetic nature to Black Adam. "Your magic is weak" *chills* Weekly request for Mean Girls ^^
Can we also appreciste how good the music in this movie is? I can't really remember anything memorable from almost any marvel movie except iron man 1 but this movie had so many bangers, Lorne Balfe is amazing.
Dwayne "the Rock" Johnson did a great job as Black Adam the character and with the Black Adam film. Black Adam does a great job as an anti-hero, because Black Adam doesn't typically fit the hero role. He's either a villain or an anti-hero. I especially like the use of the justice society in the film. The justice society do a good job as heroes and as a foil to Black Adam. I honestly wish that this Black Adam confronted the superhero Shazam, but Henry Cavill's Superman was fine, especially when Henry Cavill is actually wearing his red and blue suit and acting like Superman.
Honestly, the final nail in the coffin for the DCEU is Dwayne Johnson. He refused any interaction with Shazam and forced a Superman cameo so that he could force himself up onto Superman's level and set up a Black Adam Vs Superman movie and completely skip Shazam. That's like The Mandarin skipping Iron Man to push for a face off with The Hulk. Also I'm not saying Vin Diesel is blameless for butting heads with Johnson but it's starting to look more and more like they both have ego problems and need to be willing for their characters to lose fights.

That's the whole point of "Hasta la Vista baby!"
I'm not the only person who's made this observation.
@@kingol4801 Lex has a ton of presence, he’s one of DC’s defining villains and has often fought the Justice League as well. Check out the DCAU.
@@DickSenter Wow. Everything you said was so confidently wrong.

Fate and Hawkman really carried this movie for me. I love how straight they played the rolls.
I wish they would have capitalized on their own history with ancient Egypt.

I love when horror directors make superhero movies
Some superheroes can lend themselves to horror such as The Hulk can be shot as a horror movie but the genre should match up each other of The Hulk villains like for The Leader can be a psychological horror

While I didn't enjoy this film I got to give the visual effects team a shout out. This movie was BRUTAL especially for PG 13
@@pockylovingranger you really can't think of anyone else who can play a generic superhero?

Finally an open mind. I personally liked this movie because i just wanted to see a spectacle and that it is.

I went in thinking "I want to see the Rock being an invincible super badass," and i left thinking "I got everything what i needed."
Yes i predicted many of the turns but i think that is more competent storytelling than unsubtle storytelling.

16:23 "Hes alive?!?!?"
Sort of, maybe. Wouldn't be the first time Nabu kept Kent's soul around inside the helm after his death.
Fate and Black Adam have always been interesting characters in DC.
Each lunatic antiheroes in their own way, a Conanesque ubermensch... and a Lawful Neutral parasite almost too dangerous to do good with.
I had low expectations and genuinely enjoyed this movie. Pierce Brosnan as dr. Fate was definitely the highlight.
Hawkman's line about plans is a funny Easter for those who watched Leverage and know about the plan A thru M
I absolutely agree with you about John Carter... But The Lone Ranger? I definitely disagree with you on that one.
"Longer Ranger" was primarily hamstrung by turning Tonto into Native American Jack Sparrow.
To bad Dwayne Johnson *DOESN'T* want Black Adam to interact with the Shazamily...
Pierce Brosnan as Fate is the best casting decision in the history of ever.

I liked the movie, but yeah that whole "yeah he's so dark and edgy and willing to do evil, he's better than all of you old fashion heroes!" kinda threw me off. I know it's more complicated than that but it just doesn't feel right to root for the guy who likes killing his enemys

I started this movie but fell asleep (not from boredom, i was just exhausted) but I remember thinking of it as “shiny” because it looked so good
It's a shame the Rock went for hyping up the Superman rivalry instead of Black Adam's actual nemesis, Shazam. And that Shazam 2 didn't have any mention of or connection to Black Adam. Either way, I enjoyed both movies, and I definitely agree with the sentiment that "I really don't need perfect films, I need enjoyable ones" and I enjoyed both of them.

As someone who went into this movie hyped to see Dr. Fate, I was not disappointed for a second.

I love how most of the kid's scenes are left out of this video.
Other than that kid, this movie is great overall. Black Adam is exactly what I imagine how a man with superhuman strength uses it, no bullsh*t, no wasting time on useless chit chat. And Dr Fate is SO GOOD, the costume, the CGI, I really hope that we could see him in the future but really sad that they got Henry Cavil in for our hope up and the squashed it
At a minimum, they should have picked a better actor for the kid. Ideally, they should have greatly reduced his role in the story.

I actually had fun watching this movie and it was, pretty cool, it's getting a bunch of hate, some unnecessary, some that makes sense, but honestly one of the better DC movies overall, didnt like WW84 too much so, I guess this is better than that
If theres something I'd change it's about Doctor Fate, cus I wish they made him more powerful if hes been doing this for years and didn't sorta waste him :

Can we also appreciste how good the music in this movie is? I can't really remember anything memorable from almost any marvel movie except iron man 1 but this movie had so many bangers, Lorne Balfe is amazing.
Tim Curry as the Darkness in Legend is THE best devil role ever.
Black Adam is one of my favorite DC characters, and I thoroughly enjoyed this movie, so I was really excited to see this video pop up!
