I now live in Virginia Beach, Virginia, so my climate is very different from yours. However, I absolutely love to see what you are doing and find your videos soothing. Weird, I know, but my deceased husband and I once visited Scotland and we both loved it so much. I guess I am living along with you in your garden. Thank you!
Aw, thank you so much ❤ So glad you are enjoying the videos. Yes, very different climates, but I think a garden anywhere can give that peaceful space we all need from time to time. I've found it one of the best places to go if I need calm and quiet and time for myself to recharge, well, maybe not when the hedges need chopping, but most other times, just so nice to soak up the lovely weather while we have it. So glad to have you along to enjoy the journey ❤
Love your accent. And about you using top soil instead of garden soil. Don’t worry I bought topsoils because it was on sale. Plus a bag of peat moss, & a few bags of garden soil. Next year before I plant I’m going to mix it all together & adding a few bags of garden soil to it . Even though I just found your site on UA-cam, I’ll keep watching you & see what you do for next years garden. Joe. Davidson.
Aw, thank you. ah, the compost and topsoil mix up, seems to be an easy mistake! But such a pain to fix, I've been mixing in home made compost, saw dust and leaves! It's slowly helping to break up the clay, but it's a slow process! Hope you're growing is going well😀
Love your videos x so envious x my garden is tiny x only got into gardening the last 16 months x watching learning and have two cats who love to 'help' 🙈❤️
Thank you so much, so lovely to hear you enjoy the videos, and so lovely to hear you're enjoying your garden too! It's such a joy and you never stop learning, I think that's half the fun! Happy growing ❤
It seems its only 5 fruit trees needed for official orchard status so you qualify 🎉 im at 3 so far and counting 😊 My blueberries do really well in big pots with ericaceous soil and feed.. have you tried the ericaceous feed on yours.. lovely garden thanks for sharing from paisley
Thanks for the info! I'm forever hopeful that the olive tree will produce olives, but realistic enough to accept that our weather in the north east of Scotland is likely to curb that hope 😆
Just catching up! wish I had raised beds like yours, my back can’t take much more 😩 Love it when it’s tattie harvesting time….can’t wait. I think I might do same as you next year. Also…..how the hell do you have such gorgeous nails!!!? Seriously…..I can’t bloomin get the muck out of mine!! 😂🙈💅 Have a lovely weekend Deborah x
Ah! Thank you 😄 yeah, I've been a bit behind. Lots of footage, but no time to edit 😂 I'm so excited about the kiwi, lime and fig all of which have arrived safely! I actually went to get them planted and discovered that the avocado plant I thought had died has grown a new shoot!! So having a rethink where everything will go now! wish me luck 😄
OMG! YES! Much to my surprise 😂 the previous winter it died right back and I though I'd lost it, then last spring it grew a new shoot! This past winter I wrapped a heat matt around the base ( not touching ) and it hasn't lost any leaves and is looking brilliant! The stem/trunk has doubled in size too. Now it's just a waiting game to see what it does next and hopefully in the future I can make a video and update everyone with the progress 😀

aw, thanks! The raised beds aren't perfect and my back still doesn't thank me, but they do make it alot easier! ah, and as for the nails... honestly, I have no idea how my lovely nail tech puts up with me!! between the garden and my love of the glue gun she does an amazing job and I very rarely break one! She bloody fabulous at what she does! Hope you're enjoying the lovely weather and Hugo is staying cool! 😎

Dinna cut a cherry tree back during dormant period. Makes it susceptible to silver leaf

An olive tree can take 3 to 12 years to produce olives, depending on the variety and climatic conditions. Greetings from Dundee

Did the avocado ever make it?
