Thats why some folks have to cut ties with childhood friends. As you progress, the old friends start to resent your growth. That jealousy can unfortunately turn into rage.

A man who had spent the weekends at my home with my 4 other children and my oldest son considered a childhood friend murdered my son in 2017 30 years later. There had been a 25 year hiatus between them reconnecting. I warned my son that too many years had passed and that the boyhood "friend" may not be the same person he had known then they were 10-13 years old. 1 month later my son was dead from that man trying to rob him and shooting my son to death. Yes, I am very still angry and will never forgive him. He's still in prison as of now, but he didn't get a life sentence or death sentence which was my preference.
I recently just got rid of a "Childhood friend" .. I've known her since we were in the second grade (we are currently 38) she was WEIRD.. always copied everything I owned..never let .e be me without her stealing my ideas , she would always dart her eyes at me anytime I would look away.. always tried to one up me.. always talked down on things then turned around and did the same.. stay away from these creatures..I got rid of her after 8th grade and never felt so good.. became myself .. ran into her in 2013 thought she changed.. she got absolutely worse.. when mentioned a child got a principal award..she glared and said "I dont want to hear about children's accomplishments"... Theres actual people like this
I finally got rid of her in 2022 😂 never felt soooooo good and alive ❤❤❤ just because you known someone since childhood doesn't always mean they are actually your friends..always look for signs and how a friend treats you.. if you feel always anxious around them.. that's your instincts

Exactly! I keep seeing these types of headlines on UA-cam videos for reputable news channels and cannot believe that the person responsible for them got hired in the first place. Don't they use Grammarly or some other AI tool? I have also noticed that a lot of field reporters don't use proper grammar either. The fact that are never corrected and allowed to continue speaks volumes about where we are as a society. The graduated from some university but so many reporters with say things like " there is a lot of problems with this current situation" instead of there ARE a lot of problems.
I would consider this story news that MATTERS.

I cut ties with all my childhood and high school friends within months of graduating from high school. Friends have shelf lives and a time comes to leave them behind.
I choose to surround myself with friends who share my values, as those who don't may struggle with feelings of depression or jealousy when they see me succeeding. While I strive to avoid negative thoughts about others, I believe discernment is crucial in today's emotionally charged environment.
Why second degree murder and not first degree?

My condolences to this young man's family and friends, tragic and heartbreaking. Also, the diligence shown by this young man's family in how they helped police by providing much need information on tracking the victim's phone location and vehicle, their ingenuity paid off.
