From a computer engineer - If you get a call you don't recognize, don't take it. If you respond, it is silent on the other end, that is how pegasus gets in. If you get a message you don't know from a source, delete it. Keep only minimum number of apps that you need on your phone. Disable (turn off) apps access to your phone camera.

Why does this surprise anyone? A few years ago my phone would flash, make the click sound and give a freeze frame image of whatever it was pointed at like it does when it takes pictures. Repairing a smart phone is very different from not using one at all. The best way to protect yourself is to not use one. I'm not sure what exactly needs repairing but if you're still using it, updates are important because they include security patches to protect against exploits

The solution is open source mobile OS. The main problem is that modern iOS and Android devices does not give you full control over your phone. You cant disable services you don't want running in the background, restrict internet access to certain processes etc... Same goes with PC. Windows and Mac OS does not give you full control over your hardware. But unlike mobile industry you still have an alternative, Linux.
Pegasus, now CSAM has pushed me now to be quite paranoid of mobile security, and to get rid of my apple products. Edward Snowdon was right, he was so right its absolutely frightening. I hope everyone stars looking into Linux phones, and degoogled android phones for enhanced or at least more individual control of our data.

From a computer engineer - If you get a call you don't recognize, don't take it. If you respond, it is silent on the other end, that is how pegasus gets in. If you get a message you don't know from a source, delete it. Keep only minimum number of apps that you need on your phone. Disable (turn off) apps access to your phone camera.

Repairing a smart phone is very different from not using one at all. The best way to protect yourself is to not use one. I'm not sure what exactly needs repairing but if you're still using it, updates are important because they include security patches to protect against exploits

People actually interacted. Went outside, played in the sun... talked to their neighbors. They didn’t care as much as they do now about physical appearance.

Any government less likely to use Pegasus for mass surveillance on common civilians. If I'm not wrong, Pegasus key is sold to government on the basis of number of devices they want to track, and the price is too expensive; kind like a subscription model of antivirus companies (1 User, 1 Device). It can't be used on mass scale.

The solution is open source mobile OS.
The main problem is that modern iOS and Android devices does not give you full control over your phone. You cant disable services you don't want running in the background, restrict internet access to certain processes etc...
Same goes with PC. Windows and Mac OS does not give you full control over your hardware. But unlike mobile industry you still have an alternative, Linux.
Rooting does help a little but yeah nowhere as good
